Pure pear aroma and flavour. On the lighter side, but that was exactly what I was looking for. Think of the best pear juice you've ever had, but with Champagne quality mousse

after 3 hours in the decanter it opened up nicely. Could still use quite a few years to soften up, but showed beautifully!

Well made wine, fine mousse but starting to lose it's effervescence, slightly sweeter than expected, drink now

This wine was phenomenal. Concentrated, vibrant acidity, like walking on a razor's edge. This is a desert island wine

Drinking and looking at this wine while i write about it, i feel that it probably couldn't be any better than it is right now. This, after having tried several younger vintages. It's well balanced, lots of black fruit, vanilla, capsicum, molasses and vibrant acidity. There's a little chalkiness in the finish, but overall, I would say this wine was a pleasant surprise.

Very well integrated. Much softer than anticipated. The nose really started to open up after an hour or so. Red fruit, cedar notes, almost steely (like the other taster said) on the palate. Medium plus finish. Could definitely do with a couple more years, but the tannins are definitely soft enough to make it approachable now. Drank with a rib steak, would definitely recommend that to anyone.

This wine was gorgeous. It was light, yet so well structured and with such a good back bone that it held up to the pate that we were eating. There was strawberry on the nose, and something else that i just couldn't put my finger on that i really liked. My only regret is that i don't have a case of this wine that i can enjoy. Was at it's prime. Very happy i had it.

Drank the bottle at my birthday dinner with my girlfriend, mother and uncle. Bottle was decanted for about 30 minutes, which was perfect. There was big Syrah fruit, leather and tobacco on the nose. The tannins were softened perfectly. Big wine, drank with a beautiful tenderloin. Would recommend this bottle to anyone, disappointed it was my last one.

Nice easy drinking bottle. Almost no tannins, and that big fruitful taste of negro amaro. Exactly what i expected, very pleasant, went extremely well with the blue cheese we were eating.

Good bottle, nothing special. Was a little lighter than i wanted, good acidity, but lacked that strong backbone. Good value. easy drinking.

First impression was the colour. Gorgeous onion skin hues around the edge of the glass, and lovely black cherry on the nose.
After an hour of decanting, was perfect. Rich, well structured, earthy tones and great balance.
Wish i had another one. Drank with braised shortribs and roast potatoes and carrots, perfect match.

Opened and decanted right away. Was tight for the first 20 minutes, but opened up really nicely after that. Went for dinner, came back 2 hours later and the tannins had softened up very nicely.
Smell was black fruit, some earthiness, tobacco and leather. Wasn't your typical Californian cab, more reminiscent of a Bordeaux style wine which i was happy with as i'm not too fond of the fruit bomb that is commonly found in the new world. Great drink. Would like to age my last two bottles for at least 2 more years. Great buy at 35 a bottle, but would never pay 118 a bottle for this (LCBO Vintages price)
