Purchased on release, stored @55degrees. Aging well, deep color, almost opaque purple-red, initially opening with enticing nose of mixed black fruits (mostly black raspberry & wild blueberry) but after 15 minutes of aeration revealing subtle cinnamon/balsamic notes. Big rich palate of black berries/raspberries w/a little bit of mushroom earthiness and good acidity. Relatively light on its feet for such a big wine. Good finish. Not as richly sweet as a a 2000 Elderton Command I very much enjoyed a few years ago, but satisfying. Drink up!

2/27/21, 4:37 PM - fair enough, but I bought the Elderton Command many years ago for about $55. Price inflation after receiving high scores from Parker etc.
