Great wine that really opened up and filled out with some time in the glass. Powerful yet still has the trademark finesse of the '12 vintage. Probably best to hold for a few more years but drinking very well now.

Nice bottle still with some life left in it. Bold tannin, slight alcohol note and maybe just a touch hot. Not much fruit as other napa cabs but a solid bottle overall.

Very nice wine with a great depth of flavor. Dark fruits, firm and approachable tannins. Med to full body. Drinking well now. Looking forward to opening another bottle in 5 & 10yrs to see how this evolves.

Terrific wine. Dried cherries, blackberry, mild honey, and a good bit of tannin at the end. Starting to show good secondary flavor notes but still has a youthfulness to it. If I had another bottle (very sad I dont) i would hold for another 3-5 years.

I don't know what else to say except this wine is insane! Bright, balanced, good acidity which shines but doesn't over power. Almosy silver in color and a long finish that seems to last for days. As a long time JJ Prum fan, I will be stocking up on these, no doubt about it. $29

A great bottle of wine and can't be the QPR. Dark fruit, seedy blackberry, good balance of tannin/acid, and crushed rock that was a fun surprise. Loved this wine from start to end as it really evolved with some air. Clearly a young wine that's built to last and to me, a nice balance of old vs new world.

Saved half a bottle for day 2 and still outstanding. Dark fruit, crushed rock (can't get away from this flavor note but I love it), leather, and a whole lot of goodness. Saved 1 last glass for day 3 tomorrow.

Very nice wine after a 1.5hr decant. Probably needed 2-3 as it just kept getting better. Smooth, almost sweet tannins. Rich ripe seedy berries, a distinct barnyard aroma, and subtle tobacco/leather notes. Excellent wine and drinking very well now.

For the price, can't beat this. Lively fruit, good acic/sweetness Balance, little mineral, very nice all the way around.

$13.99 and I would buy it again.

From a 375ml, very nice bottle. Pop and Pour. Rich, smokey, fruity without being over the top.

Purchased for $34/375ml and would buy again at this price.

When first opened, you could clearly taste each varietal; cab, merlot, and PV, separately and in that order. Big, spicy tannins which mellowed over time. About 3hrs in the decanter and all the flavors started to come together. Dark fruit, raspberries, and a nice spicy finish. Should come together nicely in a few years.

Day 2: still drinking well. Very merlot driven. Overall I enjoyed this wine and feel it's best paired with food.

It was just ok. A little flat, good mineral & acid but not much to really get excited about.

Terrific wine, consumed over 3 days. Big oak and tannin up front followed by fruit. Day two it was really at its best with everything coming into Balance.

Drink now or maybe hold a couple years to let the oak play nice with everyone. $32, can't beat it.

Great wine with fresh, almost seedy berries. Slight funk on the nose which makes it interesting. Strong acid, nice finish and a great value. I could see this getting even better with some time. Well done Vincent!

Great wine with a wonderful aroma! Like woah, I could smell it the second it came out the bottle. Seedy raspberry struck me on the nose and pallet. Strong acid but not overpowering (Though ever present). Opened up over a couple hours in the bottle.

Can't beat the price or producer, I'll be a customer again!

A very nice wine for sub $20. Balanced fruity without being over the top. Fine tannins with a soft, clean finish. Nothing overly stands out though for the price, it would be difficult to find a better value.

A nice wine. Strong acid, raspberry, cranberry, tart cherry. Minimal mineral. Slightly out of balance for my liking (Too acidic) though came around a little with some air. A fair value at $25.

Just too over the top for me. Blasted with oak upfront then jammy fruit at the end.

Very nice bottle. Needed an hour or two to really open up and show what it was all about. Mineral, citrus, lime, typical flavor notes you would expense. Strong acid.

Day 2: much to my surprise it was super flat and very acidic, losing almost all Balance. Would not recommend saving any for a second day.

Very nice on day one, especially for $21. Lots of depth, little hot with alcohol, but balanced. Cooled down after 3hrs open in ghe bottle. Day 2, rough. Surprised me how quickly this oxidized. Day 3 undrinkable.

I really enjoyed this wine and would agree that it could use more time (Though not completly necessary). Lots of berries, tobacco/cigar box, and depth of flavor that developed over time. Very strong tannin in the middle then it just stops and finished quickly and with little tannin/bite at the end. Kind of interesting... (to me anyway)

I paid $40 for the bottle and feel it's a fair price. I've seen them for $65/70 and would pass at the higher prices.

I won't go into a long description as I've had a cold and I'm sure my tasting is off but I will say this was a very interesting bottle for $35. Great mouthfeel, full bodied, layer and layers of flavor that seems to keep developing more over time. A 3hr decant seemed to be the sweet spot for this wine. I also throughly enjoyed this on day 2. Almost better in some ways (more fruit forward).

My one knock on the wine was it seemed a little "hot" or had a strong alcohol taste. The decanting helped a lot but this bottle needs time. Time in your cellar or time open to the air. But either way, just needs a little time.

Worth every penny.

For $30, this wine is incredible! One of the best Merlot (80% Merlot, 20%cab) I've had in a long time.

Decanted for 2hrs, sweet tannins, big flavors and held up well for 2 days. Easy and enjoyable to drink. If you can find this bottle, maybe pick up 2... =)

At first I was afraid to open this so young but fear not my friends, this was awesome from the second I pulled the cork!

Slightly sweet, tannins aren't overpowering, well balanced, lots of ripe fruit and worth every penny of the $50 I spent on this bottle.

I will be going back to pick up a few more.

I love pretty much any wine by jj prum and for $35, this bottle was a steal! Perfectly balanced between sweet and tart with just enough viscosity without being annoying. Drink now or down the road, can't go wrong.

I have to say, this wine was a crazy experience for me. When I first opened the bottle, the funk and aroma was unlike anything I've experienced. I would describe it as a dirty diaper that you want to keep smelling but don't know why. On first taste there was an explosion of berries, funk and savory notes, mushrooms and wet earth. After letting it sit open for a few hours, things mellowed and everyone started playing nice with each other. Blackberries, raspberries, mushrooms, dirt/earth, that unmistakable funky I keep talking about and much more came to life as i drank it. Very strong on the merlot I would also add. It hit its peak drinking after being open for 5 hours or so. Day two, flat, borring, lost all its life and it's funk. Wamp wamppp

I think a few more years will do this bottle well to bring more of this madness together but don't let that stop you from drinking it now.

I bought this for $65 and have to say, I don't think it was worth it. A very fun and wild wine to experience but $65 can get you some much better juice.

It was a nice bottle and about what you'd expect. A little hot so might need more time.

My only real note is, this wine just isn't worth the money anymore at $50. It's a nice cab but given others out there, my $50 could go a lot further.

Such a great wine, though needs more time. Smoked pork and maple syrup pancakes were two flavor notes I couldnt get away from. Firm tannins, great viscosity, almost purple in color. Better than the 2014

I love anything by jj Prum and this is no exception. Bright, balanced, with lime, limestone, candied fruits and the perfect amount of acid for a Kab. A great Prum to drink now while you let your Spätlese sit a few more years.

This is such a great wine and easy to drink! Very little tannin, light body, big fruit and packed full of flavor up front. Finish is very short but clean.

A staple in my cellar, as its always a crowd pleaser.

It just turned.... Maybe 2-5 years earlier and it would be dead on. Slight vinegar aftertaste but the cork was in great shape.

Overall a great wine, aging with grace though lacks acid. Sweat, almost syrupy, with notes of honey, passion fruit, ripe mango and candied fruit (orange/pineapple) and a light petrol note. My critique is it lacks acid to cut through the fatty sweetness. Best paired with spicy food.

Great wine, drinking well now but could take maybe another 5-8 years to bring out more petrol.
