Just a fantastic wine that has aged gracefully and provides an explosion of taste. Fruit still present, though giving way to the tobacco, leather and cigar box flavors that I so love in a well aged wine.

Really outstanding bottle. The best one of the bunch so far. Not sure if it's just in the right drinking window, or maybe just a bit of bottle variation, but this wine is so delightful with fantastic nose, great on the palate, fully integrated and a long lingering finish that just leads you back for another sip.

Everything you expect from a Caymus SS. Smooth, well integrated, lots of fruit. Nice complexity and that wonderful finish.

PNP. This one has faded a good bit. Not sure if some decanting might liven it up, but on this night it seemed to be well over the hill. Still drinkable, but nothing memorable. Will drink my last two bottles sooner than later, and try 30 - 60 minutes in a decanter.

Simply everything I look for in a bottle of wine. This was the last of a 6 bottle lot, and was by far the best. Nose, taste, finish, mouth feel, balance, smooth and just amazing. Ethereal.

Drank as part of a 12+ bottle dinner party. This wine hit on all cylinders: nose, palate and finish. Very well balanced, this was among the very best of the night with several of the group having it as their WOTN.

In a very good drinking window right now. This was part of a 10+ bottle dinner party with a strong line up. A good representation of a Napa Cab. Not as complex as others in the lineup, but held it's own in the middle of the pack.

Fantastic wine. Nose of dark berries and deep aromas that speak to the terroir. The nose actually under delivers compared to the palate. Broad, lucious, and mouth-coating on the first taste. The finish is the best part of this wine. It just goes on and on and on. I'm just sorry I didn't buy more.

In a perfect drinking window right now. The nose and palate are both full of the secondary flavors that I find so interesting in aged Bordeaux. The earthy, tobacco, and leather notes but still allowing the fruit some room. Drink it if you have it, as I think it has peaked.

Still lively at 16 yrs old. Red fruits still presenting with a bit more tartness that I expected. The coloring is starting to brown, and show it's age more so than the palate. Drank side by side with an '07 St. Emilion, and the rimming was significantly different.

Excellent nose upon opening. This was drank along with a 2014 Insignia as part of a mini verticle. As expected the '14 was much more dominate on the nose and had much more fruit on the palate. This '11 held it's own, given the challenges that vinters faced with valley fruit this vintage, but it still failed to quite match the '14.

Dark fruit still fully evident, but the wine has reach full maturity. In fact, it may just be starting to head over the hill. Rich mouth feel, fully integrated tannins, and smooth as can be. Very long finish that just lingers. Sorry that I only have two left. (drank from a 375, so 750's may not be quite as advanced, YMMV)

Decanted for 90 minutes, then served with grilled Ribeyes. The aromas were amazing, however on the palate the tannins are still tightly wound, hiding some of the fruit promised by the nose.

It did get better with steak, but need much more time before reaching it's best. This is a similar trend I'm finding with the Napa 2013's. Looks like this vintage will be very long lived. I'll be giving these another 2 to 3 years before trying again.

Drank back to back vs a 1999 Sarget de Gruaud Larose. It lacked in every aspect. Nose, palate and finish. Nothing of note stood out for me on this wine, either good or bad. It was just ok. Many other bottles for this price point that deliver more.

Bought this bottle to try while reloading on the 2005's. It was good, but definitely not up to the 2005. Nice bordeaux characteristics, but just missing a little at each step including the front end, mid palate and finish.

Fully developed and integrated. Still some fruit but not much. Well developed secondary flavors of tobacco, graphite and earth. Color showing lot's of browning. Definitely showing it's age, but still a very pleasing glass of wine.

Decanted for about an hour. Color is still vibrant with a nose of flower and light red fruit. Palate was a bit light for my taste. Paired with a ribeye and loaded baked potato and it seed to struggle to keep up. Did get a little better late, so maybe needed more air to start. It was good, but nothing special.

Just a bit of mold on the top of the cork. Nose instantly is a little funky, but that blows off quickly yielding to saddle leather, currant and cigar box. Color of deep garnet with clear rim and almost no brown/bricking. The palate is extremely smooth, yet still just a touch of "perk" mid way through. The finish shows off the secondary/tertiary flavors one would expect from a 25 year old. Really good wine, and outstanding QPR.

Decanted for 3 hours before re-bottling for trip to restaurant. Color was deep ruby and starting to show just a bit of browning. Nose was fragrant, floral and enticing. One of those where you want to just enjoy the aromas for a long time before taking that first drink. The palate did not disappoint. Extremely smooth, with the fruit still very present. It does then move aside and the terroir comes through the mid palate and the finish.

Drank this side by side with a 2003 Bond Matriarch. Given the age on the Bond, not really a fair fight. However the Scarecrow showed very well. Deep long legs and a nose full of fruit. Still a bit tannic on the first taste, but then rounded out with nice balance. Very drinkable now, but still has lots of room to improve with more time in the bottle. I'll hold my next bottle for at least 4-5 more years.

Full bodiee, well balanced and delivering across the board. Enticing nose on opening. This wine coats the mouth and hits all the right spots in the front, middle and end of the palate. And lastly it yields a wonderfully long and deep finish.

Drank as part of a blind Pinot tasting. It was clear garnet color. Moderate intensity on the nose, but I had difficulty identifying specific aromas. Medium bodied and off-dry with low soft tannins. The balance was fair and the palate was smoke, vanilla and caramel, followed by deep red fruits. Slightly disappointing on the finish, just a bit short.

Tasted blind as part of a Pinot Tasting event.

Clear deep garnet in color. Aromatic aromas with barnyard funk showing as the dominant. Medium/Full bodied, and the acid having smoothed. It showed excellent balance with a moderate flavor intensity. Very nice finish is the 5-7 second range.

Outstanding wine. The aromas were escaping the bottle with the cork only half way out. Cork in good shape with fair amount of sediment in bottle. Legs were long and med-slow. Nose was fantastic with loads of leather, earth and great barnyard aromas. Just behind that there was still strong fruit notes in the mix. This wine sang on all three phases on the palate. Just a bit tart on the front, giving way to a full mid palate and ending with a minutes long finish. I'm really disappointed this was my last bottle :(

Deep purple in color with long slow legs. Nose jumped out of the glass with deep cedar and leather. Definite secondary scents with the fruit showing behind. On the palate the first sip was quite sharp and tart. No quite aligned with the expectation set by the aroma. But after the second or third sip, the tartness faded and the deep black fruits came through. Very pleasing throughout the mouth. And the finish was equal to the task. Long and deep. All in all a very solid wine that possesses a lot of old world soul, without loosing it's California essence.

Taking for tonights Wine Wednesday group. Very nice GC. Nose showed lots of fruit. Color was definately showing some browning with a very clear rim. Long legs in the glass. Palate was pleasant with good acid still present. Medium body and a medium finish. Not quite showing the deep second and tertiary flavors I'd expect, but still pleasing. Out of 6 wines tonight I'd say it was middle of the pack.
