Pepper and charcoal smoke, red cherry. Fresh red fruits, good acid and flow. Lovely lithe red fruit profile but with the right level of structure. In an excellent spot but will keep going too.
White - Off-dry

Golden coloured. Fresh and lifted nose of honey, vanilla, kero, pineapple and pear. Palate is lovely, fresh acid mingling with delicate sweetness. Great length and balance. Super.

Sea spray, orange, white florals and cherry. Fresh and citrusy palate, some sweetness at the edges but does well to wrap back around. Great value.

Juicy, redcurrant, cherry and floral notes. Palate is fruit driven, plenty of upfront fruit and very nice approachability. Very good.

Pretty roses and cherry with red currant and some herbs to it. Palate is a similar mix of bright red fruit, a tinge of sweetness and nice structure sitting alongside to give it some definition. Well balanced and very nice value for money.

Laundry powder, lemon and orange peel. Palate is textural and has great fruit weight and depth behind it. Tingly acidity and just a slight sweetness balance beautifully. Wonderful wine as is usually the case!

Raspberry, cherry, some toast and some herbal notes.
Bright still on the palate, nice kick towards the finish. Good mix of intensity and freshness.

Samples from Bill #13: Lemon, mint and a sea spray aromatic profile. It seems quite taut on the nose but the palate has more richness behind it with fruit wrapping around the edges but lovely acidity to bind it together. Really enjoyed the flavour and charisma of this wine.

Samples from Bill #13: Oats, smoke and apple with a lemon tone across the nose. Palate is super energetic, with bright acid and that citrus note continuing to shine through. Very good length. Really struts out of the glass with punch and lift. Lovely.

Samples from Bill #13: Stemmy and peppery with plenty of herbal notes sitting underneath. Palate is quite herbal as well but it doesn't overwhelm at the moment with the youthful red fruits lending a hand to bring it into decent balance. Not sure I'd want to leave this long term but it strikes some interest early.

Samples from Bill #13: Olives, violets, boysenberry, cocoa and warm peppery spices on the nose. Palate is plush but maintains a savoury, spicy edge to it. Very good length and depth here, it has a large fruit profile but finds excellent balance. A winner.

Meaty, graphite, cherry and raspberry. Still pretty fierce on the tannins quite taut and right with light red fruits across its medium length.

Nutty, cinnamon, some varnish and lemon. Palate is complex, textured and oxidative. The sweetness of the fruit does work with the bite of the oxy notes. Pretty good run at the style.

Palate is simple as well but it's pleasant and decently balanced with a touch of sweetness.

Has some of that tar and roses going on, ashy smoke and some meat. Palate is smoky and savoury, mid length and depth. Good Aussie Nebb effort.

95/5% blend. Tobacco, bacon and meaty and plenty of earth and ash. Red and savoury fruits on the palate medium body and depth, nice lick of sweet fruit to go with the savoury characters. Drink now on this one.

Smoke, lemon, graphite, pear and straw. Palate is fresh with plenty of acid drive, good texture and carry, really nice balance and poise at this intermediate stage of its life.

Big sweet fruit. Blackcurrant, raspberry, tobacco, blackberry as well. Amped up palate, soft, rich fruit. In a deliberate style but just a bit too plush for me.

A monster tasting at Laszlo's: Violets, tropical notes with pineapple and mango. The palate is better balanced than the 2010, still with some spirit but the sweetness feels better integrated. Medium length. I don't normally like the Wendouree muscat but this was pretty good!

A monster tasting at Laszlo's: Blind. Camphor and mint, orange and redcurrant on the nose. Palate is more to my taste with clean red fruits and woody spice. Tannins are present and holding well. It's a good wine, though it won't be for everyone.

A monster tasting at Laszlo's: Still bold and flashy 21 years in with blueberry, blackcurrant, cherry and oak spices. The palate is a little more developed but its still sweet and punchy. Feels like it's in a good spot as I wouldn't want the fruit to fade too much.

A monster tasting at Laszlo's: Blind. Bright nose with cherry, roses, raspberry and a light smoky and mint overlay. Finely balanced, stands out from the pack with lovely detail and drive, the acid and the red fruit flavour keep things bright and brisk. Impressive but only 400 bottles made.

A monster tasting at Laszlo's: Blind. Raspberry, redcurrant, smoke and herbal stems. Ripe and full, this feels like it is trying to extract a lot through winemaking from fruit that doesn't have that much to give.

I didn't love the 2019 of this and the 2020 leaves me with the same doubts.

A monster tasting at Laszlo's: Golden coloured. Pineapple, spice, lime and slate. Palate is a lovely mix of sweetness with acid cut. Drinking at a mid point, it's open and giving and while there is plenty of acid it feels well integrated without having gone to the next stage of development.
