(Not sure if this is the same wine as the label above is not the one I'm drinking (mine is called "Passione") and a note below says it was like a Sauternes and this is NOTHING like a Sauternes at all (it's a lightly sparkling red)

But anyhow, this is a lovely bottle of wine! Quite surprising how well this has aged being a 2006 (and drinking in 2015) for a Brachetto. Slight bricking to the color, bubbles still present. You can taste the age, but in a good way. Easy to drink, yet deep and complex. Red slightly pruned fruit, with a dusty and intriguing earthy backdrop. Really surprised with how enjoyable this is, great stuff! Reminds me of brunch in Venice.

My wife and I loved this Pinot! It was big, really big, quite dark in color with a huge structure to it. Great depth of flavors and richness. This could stand up to a steak yet paired wonderfully with some shrimp pasta, onion soup and a fish dish my wife had. Talk about versatility! Very impressed.

Big fruit, intriguing herbal backdrop, elegantly made. I drink a ton of Argentinian Malbec but have only had a few pure Malbecs from France. Fascinating to experience such a different impression of the same grape. Wonderful wine and at $19.99 an absolute steal! Drank like a bottle easily twice its price. Going to go back and grab a few more, for sure!

This was good, though nothing great. There are better Italians at $22 for sure, though I'd happily drink it again. Quite food friendly.

ROBWILD's note below is spot on. This is an incredible value! Bought it at a grocery store for $14 ($16 with a $2 coupon hanging on it) and wasn't expecting much; though I have had some solid wines in the past from Guenoc. This is a really well-made Cab. Deep fruit, nice backdrop of leather and oak, really rich and intriguing; drink's like a wine easily double its price. It took a bit of breathing to get there. I am going to go back and buy a few more of these.

Homerun of a wine by Soos Creek! Huge mouthful of fruit, wonderful complexity and richness to it, deep, intriguing, well-balanced. Delicious! I've had this a half dozen times now, easy, and could literally drink this every day.

After enjoying several previous vintages of this, this was a gross disappointment! Just about everything to dislike in a Cab; flat, flimsy, little fruit, way over-tart, metallic, shallow, boring, almost bad to drink.

This got popped at the end of a long night, so I'm not going to score as it was all a bit of a blur by then. We all enjoyed this bottle. Interesting depth to it and an array of different flavors. Will try again.

Had this the first time and really enjoyed it. Was a complex and deep white, yet an easy-drinking one as well. Went and bought it again recently and neither myself nor my wife really liked it. We didn't dislike it; however, it didn't do much for us. I can taste all three varietals, which I appreciate, and it was easy-drinking and flavorful. But I don't know, something missing this time. Not bad nor a different vintage, either; strange. I'm going to score it in between the two experiences.

I was given a case of this, and I must say it was a very solid bottling. It definitely won't blow you away, but everyone I poured it for enjoyed it (or at least, didn't complain). I wouldn't go buy the stuff, but I'd be fine with corking it any time.

Been too long since I drank this to write a descriptive note. However, I am a big Brunellophile and I recall absolutely loving this bottle! In fact, I think we went back and bought some more the next day.

It's been too long to write a descriptive note or fairly score it. This was enjoyable and interesting, though I wouldn't buy it again at the price. Very intriguing, classic Chilean terroir. A bit rough around the edges, but I have come to expect that in Chileans, and even enjoy that in them. Complex, earthy, rugged. Worth trying if you get the chance, but not worth the $40+ investment.

Better than I had expected. Darkened/pruned fruit, but still ripe and tasty. Very nice display of Tuscan terroir; earthy, oaky, soil notes. Quite a decent Chianti.

Oh my! First of all, I am not much of a Merlot drinker; I went into this with very little expectations and it absolutely blew me away! Delicious nose of cherry pie and vanilla. Explosive almost creamy-feeling palate of deep red fruit, vanilla or a candy-like layer, and an intriguing finish of buttered rum. This bottle was exceptional, I couldn't stop sniffing and tasting it. Other than one particular vintage of Twomey, this is the best Merlot I've ever tasted. And the mind-blowing part is that this is an inexpensive, mass-produced bottle you can find in most grocery stores. Markham hit an absolute homerun with this one!

Really enjoyed this Beaujolais. Light and easy to drink, yet with more backbone and depth than a lot of the varietal. Went perfectly with an oven roaster chicken and vegetables on a warm Summer evening.

This is a bit thin and flabby, lacking any depth or richness to make it more special, the fruit a bit too tart. However, as always with this wine, it is very drinkable; in fact, quite enjoyable, and a nice expression of Cab. At $18 this is once again a great value, as it has been for several vintages now.

Surprisingly impressive! Been a week+ since I had this so I don't remember too many nuances, but everyone enjoyed it. This was rich, layered, polished, delicious! Big Syrah fruit with a nice spicy backdrop. It drinks like a bottle twice its price... didn't realize that half its fruit came from Boushey, as mentioned below; it shows!

I really enjoyed this wine. I am long-time fan of lo Zoccolaio and was impressed at how much of their character they imparted in this bottling. This had a lot of the flavors, richness and traits of their bigger bottlings such as their Barolos; however, being a Dolcetto it was much lighter and less serious. Nice expression of terroir, big earthy and oaky components with a nice front-side display of fruit. Impressive how easy-drinking this was for having so much Italian character. I wasn't blown away, but I'd drink this any time.

This is Argentina in a bottle! Classic profile of Malbec and Bonarda (a grape I've recently grown a penchant for); brambly, a bit rough yet balanced, perfume on the nose, tart on the palate. Very nice bottle of wine; I'd dig a case of this in my cellar.

I've enjoyed the Can Blau Montsant for years and this vintage is no exception. This is one of my go-to restaurant wines as many lists have it and it is always very affordable. This year's blend is really balanced and well put together; 40% Mazuelo, 40% Syrah, 20% Garnacha. Raspberries, plums and slate on the nose; red fruit and cranberry with some tobacco and oak on the palate. Good stuff!

Decent, drinkable; expected a lot more after the notes below though. A bit flabby, thin, decent fruit and a nice layer of spice, however. I'd drink another glass, but I wouldn't buy it again even at $15. (Tried over two days, changed a bit with air but not substantially)

It's been too long to write a descriptive note. This was a powerful and impressive bottle of wine; huge jammy dark purple fruit explodes from this Syrah which had a lot of depth to its flavors and a strong finish. This is great juice, though I wasn't quite as blown away as everyone else who had been raving about it and would not buy it again at about $80.

Interesting wine. The tempranillo and garnacha dominate, this blend has a very Spanish-character. This was definitely enjoyable, but I wasn't as impressed as I have been with other blends from Brian Carter. It lacked a bit of depth, finish, richness. Improved over 1-2 hours of decanting.

Enjoyed this alongside a tomato and beef dish and the Spain/Brazil Confederations Cup final. Few wines are as reliable as Muga; always solid, always enjoyable, always affordable (even on wine lists). Modern-style Rioja, fruit was a bit pruned, lots of oak. Wasn't as blown away as some of the tasters below, but I have yet to cork a bottle of Muga that I didn't enjoy to the last glass.

Very nice Monastrell. Needed substantial air to open up and come alive, but once there had a lot of dark fruit, currant, nice slate backdrop. I agree it was overrated at 93 by WA, but this is a solid bottle.

Really nice! Very Zin-like. Cranberry, currant and anise on the nose with an interesting mineral backdrop; huge fruit and spice on the palette with a decent punch of alcohol but in a good way. Really well-made wine, I'd buy this again in a heartbeat; in fact, I will be!

UPDATE: Bought a few more bottles of this and last night (7/1) I accidentally left a couple of glasses in the decanter over night. While previously I didn't think this needed to breathe much, I have to say it was actually even better the next day after ALL that air exposure. A really distinct and intriguing anise/black licorice character came popping out after all that air. Based on this experience, I'll let my next bottle breathe an hour or two... figured I'd share the tip.

Not quite as good as the '09 (which was one of my top QPRs of last year) but still a very enjoyable wine for under $15. This vintage has a TON of oak, so much so that it will turn off some drinkers; I liked it though. A bit rough around the edges, but a lot of condensed Bonarda fruit and a very easy drinker.

Solid, as always; this is one of my go-to wines at restaurants as it is usually priced fairly and always delivers. Interesting slate and fruit on the nose, with a tart fruit and oak palate. I've drank this wine through many vintages and always enjoy it.

EDIT (12/26/13). Had an interesting experience with this last night. We drank it immediately after drinking a really delicious Douro, which was much more refined in taste and old world-like. As a result of that, the Veraton came across really extracted, overly concentrated, almost artificial-like in flavor. It was strange, kind of changed my perception of this wine as it seemed almost fake somehow after that more refined Douro. I still like it and definitely still feel it is a great value; but it was interesting how the experience/comparison changed my way perception of this.

Disappointing effort from a usually very consistent producer. Unpleasant nose with a strange layer on palate that threw the taste off. Unbalanced... just, odd. Wouldn't buy this again; in fact, wouldn't drink another glass, I don't think.

Spectacular! One of the best Rieslings I've ever had. Intriguing nose of lemon crème. The palate explodes with white grape, citrus and white peach. Excellent minerality, perfect amount of sugar (a bit sweeter than I'd expect a Kabinett to be), slight carbonation feel, nice acid bite... this is brilliant!

Fantastic bottle of wine! Big red fruit with a huge influence of Tuscan terroir. Not sure I would have pegged this as a pure Merlot without having known that; reminded me of some Sangiovese blends from the region, though very fruit-forward. Had a saline-like minerality to it that was really intriguing. The fruit pruned a bit after about 40mins of being open, but was delicious from start to finish. I'd buy more of this in a heartbeat!

This was not an enjoyable bottle when first opened; rough, unbalanced, strange profile as the taster below stated. However, the second day it was much different; some good fruit came out, an appealing minerality, definitely drinkable. I still wasn't a huge fan, but this was a decent wine once it had breathed overnight.

This is really solid Napa Cab for the price. A fruity nose with an interesting saline aroma to it. Bright red fruit on the palate with a nice balance of oak and leather; classic Cab profile. You've had better ones, but it's hard to beat this for the price; in fact, my local store had them on sale for $5 off and I bought them out! This is a safe wine you can pop and pour or pair with red meat any night of the week.

Very impressed! Spot-on job by S&S, this B-Side wine is fantastic. It's not going to change your life, but at $18 this is one of the best QPRs I've come across all year. The Cab dominates, could have fooled me for a pure Cab other than the slight candy layer on top. Tart red fruit, very juicy, nice backbone; this is excellent wine!
