exceptional pairing with a lovely spicey stir fry at home. Purchased at the vineyard following a private un-announced tasting on a bank holiday when Catherrine Faller answered the door.
The creaminess and exotic fruits just so worked with the chiilie, garlic and fresh ginger. had the texture and flavours to be consumed well chilled at about 8c. this is so well made from such great terroir ir will go on for years ! if only I had more left.

for a number of years I have felt I have too many really sweet top quality dessert wines in my cellar. The problem is they are just such great vallue and just so good. Occasionally I share a half bottle(37.5cl) over 2 days or so with my wife 'en homage' to the recently passed Michael Broadbent.
So tasting note, I blend some very strong blue cheese with equal cream cheese for a sort of mouse and it was just the perfect accompaniment to a sweet complex wine with dark honey colour, dried fruit with a marmalade lift towards the end. The length even with the very strong blue cheese mouse was substantial and well over 20 seconds.

Exactly as Sonoma Duck’s recent tasting note. Fully mature. Very Pauillac in style. Tar on the nose tobacco on the pallet, rich but all fruit almost disappeared now. Smooth finishes dry but not actually drying. Very enjoyable but needs food. Personally I feel it has still got a couple of years left in it BUT I shall not hold back on drinking my last 6 from the case purchased en- primeur at half the price of the aforementioned Pauillac. It has certainly delivered pleasure and value.

having had this wine since release I have never been disappointed but the occasional one shows some bottle variation. my bottle last night had lovely smooth, elegant if not very powerful nose but in the mouth whilst the flavours seemed very regular the alcohol was definitely coming through stronger. Maybe I had let the temperature rise too far ? Served with a traditional Beef Stew.

4 hours decant. 21c. Maybe just a touch too. Warm. Great nose when decanting. No fruit in the mouth , interesting pencil shaving etec but a touch dry. Maybe typical of the hot dry vintage. Finish a touch dry.
Think i will drink up BUT slightly cooler at a normal 18c

Upon opening a rewarding deep nose of dark fruit. So enticing. Decanted for over 2 hours and nothing disappointed when poured. Perfectly balanced, medium length and right in middle a gentle lift from, I think tannins, which gives it another refreshing burst of fruit. Very smooth. My style of food wine when nothing too heavy is required BUT then I adore Chateau d’Issan from the commune of Margaux.

4 hour decant. Upon opening wonderful dark fruits of the forest on the nose, rich and no hint of green or tannins. Needed to be warmer and still very young. Lots of tannin towards the end and fruit is there but subdued.

all very pleasant as one would expect from a good Rhone producer but I must say after the very good vintages of 2015 and 2016 this is a vintage that leaves the palet wanting much more 'stuffing' in the middle. Well enough made but missing the fullness of a good Gigondas much more like a Cotes du Rhone.

14.4% alc. 22 months in new oak barriques.
43% Malbec, 36% Cab Sauvignon &21% Merlot. Only made in the nest vintages. 2009 was the first I would have it at about 93 points.
This 2010 upon opening stunning nose of Blueberries & Damson and so elegant. In the mouth instantly round & smooth, soft tannins, pencil shavings and soft follow through of fruit ending in slightly dry finish. Wonderful price for quality. If you are anywhere near Bergerac you should buy and ship ! Ex Vineyard 27 euro’s

having purchased a box of 6 locally last year when in Tuscany & Umbria I have been anticipating my first taste of the grape "Sagrantino" . at 14 euro's a bottle it is a steal. According to my research it is a grape that demands patience to soften it's natural tannins. At 7 years of age they are still there BUT whilst still evident at the beginning and end in the middle you already have a sweet spot. Medium bodied at this stage with some nice gentle fruit on the nose after a 2+ hour decant with no sediment. It is well worth seeking out the grape variety but treat it like your more expensive classic's and it appears to really delivers for the price. It promises to be much more than a curiosity

Decanted for 2 hours knowing it is very young. The nose is not very strong at this stage but still showing gentle red fruits. In the mouth again the youth is obvious BUT the fruit is beginning to come through and the tannins are present but at a level that suggests they will easily be intergrated. The promise is very strong. I will wait before trying again BUT wil purchase another couple of dozen, direct from the vineyard, for my cellar.

Been following the reviews as I purchased a case of 12 upon release. The nose gave some enticing fruit and hint of forest truffles . After a 2 hour decant, as it is young, in the mouth it deliver a soft flavour in line with the nose with a clear absence of noticeable tannins. It started to appeared to be drying out within 30 minutes over dinner. Overall disappointed and feel it may just be coming out of a dormant period, I hope !

Very subtle nose after double decanting upon opening hinting at truffle & earth of the forest BUT the surprise on tasting. It was absolutely stunning as it was so unexpected. Everything was so smooth and subtle yet you could clearly taste some dark fruit, hint of gentle chocolate, pepper just so round in the mouth. Everything I love about good Chateauneuf but without the power of so many special cuvee’s which just don’t do it for me. Long in the mouth for a good 30 seconds will be enjoyed with anything savoury BUT where would you find a bottle of the unsung pleasure !

Almost no nose. Expected brown rim. No fruit. What was there was very thin if not offensive. Nothing to recognise this as a quality wine of any sort. Thank goodness this was my last bottle of 12 purchased direct from their UK shipper.shall never buy Lamarche again.
Sorry this is so downbeat. Everyone has been broadly the same. Anyone else had this prob with 2008 ?

Upon decanting the nose was very enticing with blackberries & blackcurrents after an hour of so truffle and earthy aromas of the forest. A subtle brown rim but heart of crimson still. In the mouth just so smooth with complex gentle fruit and soft elegant tannin. Everything a good Margaux should be. If you like classic Bordeaux, BUT not green, this is a must try wine. Do not expect power but well rounded elegance.

Just amazing so not new world. I still concur with my previous note. Dark forest, trufle on the nose so enticing, gentle not powerful.
A fuller body length would increase the score dramatically. So similar in style to good Pinot Noir. Definitely my kind of shiraz.

Opened 2 hours before, served at 18c and decanted for 15 minutes. Beautiful nose of dark fruits, smooth and full bodied with the tannins very present but not un-pleasant. Has a good life ahead but would benefit from a couple more years in the cellar. Shows immense promise.
The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are medium. There is moderate sediment in the bottle.

For a 2009 what stands out is it is a well made wine but nothing special in the mouth. The Bouquet is very gentle and never got stronger over the hour to consume. Smooth on the palate and round in the body just not enough of anything to stand out at a very competitive price level.

Pleasant enough but nothing worth reporting other than to say it was disappointing in comparison to earlier bottles. No middle body. no satisfaction.
Hope it turns out to be an odd bottle I have 16 left.

Everything is in place and quite long in the mouth. Will definitely develop a lot lot more in the coming years. I will wait another 3-5 years and fully expect to be rewarded with a more seductive style. Could prove to be quite stunning.

powerful dark fruits straight away upon opening. double decant for only 40 minutes. Smooth, elegant and good length with soft background tannin. Great value if your taste in Bordeaux is not all about power and tannins. Will last at least another 5+ years but wonderful at this level now. what is striking about this organic muscadet sur lie is it's sheer class. not at all green. or acidic. dry yes but the sense of butter or fat of the mid palette is very strong. whilst no oak and not all Burgundian in style it truly shows what can be done by the master, Guy Bossard, of his craft with the "humble melon de Bourgogne ".
All the work he does in his fields and understanding his vines has certainly paid off. I only wish I found his wines years ago.

wonderful nose.decanted for 45minutes. fruits of the forest, pencil shavings and tannin. more weight than one might expect from a Margaux probably due to the 2005 vintage. drinking ok now but certain it will improve as the tannins become more integrated allowing the Margaux femininity to shine through.

decanted for 45minutes. strong persistent nose of rich dark fruits. no chocolate not overly sweet as are so many New World. Full, round and smooth all the rich dark fruits you could want and no sign of tannins unless you suck air through your teeth ! I positively like this wine BUT would find any more than 2 glasses too much. Whilst not my style of wine by choice it is still very impressive and well made without being overblown although the strong sunshine of the Barossa is evident.
Drinking beautifully but sure it has another 4 or 5 years at least.
Maybe my score is a little low.

enjoyed a 2nd bottle purchased (9euro95c) at the local supermarket whilst visiting my niece in the Dordogne last week.
Just poured. Nose was quite closed down but hints at a good future.body seamlessly smooth, everything is there and very enjoyable as a table wine BUT my experience of this wine & producer promises a rich and rewarding future. Awarded the Guide Hachette "coup de Coeur" in 2018 for this vintage ! Great value to price ratio. Buy if you like Bordeaux. 50%Merlot, 35% Malbec, 15% Cab Sauv.

For a wine of such fame, and justly so, it can still be purchased at a reasonable QPR. I was fortunate enough to have a bottle with my wife at The Gidleigh Park Hotel last night. Served with Dartmore loin of venison. A perfect pairing. The wine has great dark fruits on the nose very full in the mouth with the tannins still supplying just a touch to much ‘edge’ to wine experience. Overall very satisfying wine showing much potential for the future. For those who like bottle age, I do, it will be much rounder and smoother in a few more years and last at least another 15 from now.
