I want so much to like this, because it's expensive. But it's just insipid.

4/24/21, 1:55 PM - Thanks to mikemboutiquewines for the advice - I do have more of it, so I'll let it sit awhile and have better experiences to anticipate!

By the eye of Odin! This stuff is the stuff myth is made of, the reward for slow alcohol poisoning in search of the perfect bottle. This has to come as close to perfection as I’ve ever known, and it’s still very young, vibrant, unrestrained, jumping around in the glass and on the palate. It’s not a beverage, it’s an emotional experience. You could wait, but why?

1/27/21, 6:43 AM - In reply to Magnum PI: not sure when optimal would be, but in fairness I tend to enjoy wines at various stages along their evolution and so I have never been good at judging when one is at its peak. This one is certainly showing really well and doesn’t read as too young, but it’s just as certainly going to be great for a long time to come. Mainly I wish I had more of it and I wouldn’t be waiting to drink it if I had!

Just wonderful. Drinking so well now, and yet clearly can last 20+ more years. But my small stock won’t last nearly so long, since it’s going to be consumed well before 2040.

11/29/19, 1:45 PM - A gentleman asked whether I had decanted this wine, and if so, for how long. Yes, I did, but not for very long, mostly through poor planning. I would say a couple of hours. Overnight would be incredible!

Rich, full-bodied (for Bordeaux), almost California style. Not bad but like most classified Bordeaux, if tasted blind it would command half the price at best.
