Freaking delicious.

10/24/23, 6:34 AM - As I recall, I gave it an hour or two of air, but it was pretty good from the jump. That said, it did improve some over time - a little of the alcohol blew off.

This has aged nicely, and settled down. The alcohol which was predominant when this was younger has receded nicely. It's still riper than the flagship, and lacking in some of the nuance, but it's a tasty and well-proportioned American cab with good dark fruit, and integrated oak and tannins.

10/18/23, 6:43 AM - The mailing list price for this in the US was $60/bottle.

An excellent bottle of mountain Napa cab - lots of sediment, so definitely decant. Great structure (distinct without being overwhelming) and rich but not jammy dark fruit, a serious bottle.

9/25/23, 4:55 AM - We were drinking from a magnum, which we decanted and gave about an hour of air. This bottle has got plenty of life left, but it's in a good window right now.

Clearly a well made wine. Starting to like this region. Held up next to some aged Bordeaux. Definite room for improvement. Lean but not thin. Medium length finish. Good acidity and fruit. Could gain a little weight.

It’s shed most of the Bevan baby fat, and oh my it’s a lovely adolescent. Big but not overwhelming fruit, nice acidity and balance. Delicious.
  • Bob23 commented:

10/23/21, 11:18 AM - I opened and decanted it about 2 hours before we drank it, but it was pretty good to go close to when I opened it (couldn't resist a taste).

    And Go Dawgs! :)

A little flabby yet. Starts nicely, but unfocused on the finish.

9/12/20, 5:47 AM - I don't know. It didn't on day 2 of being open. But i've got another bottle, and am not giving up on it yet.

Opened up nicely with an hour or so of air. Deep dark cherries, leather, wonderful depth and saturation. Will likely rate higher in a couple of years.

6/28/20, 7:15 PM - Technical difficulties. I blame others, of course. I think it's a 92 or so now, likely a 94-95 if it keeps developing. Really lovely.

Really lovely, and built for longer aging. Glorious dark blue fruit, nice acidity, and healthy structure. Will wait another couple of years to drink bottle 2, but it'll be hard cause this rocked today.

10/3/17, 10:29 AM - Yes, I think this is worth the $$$, particularly if you can get it for under $90 on Last Bottle (which is where mine came from).
