My first Coteaux Champenois. Inspired by an article about still wines from Champagne published by the Smithsonian.
Clearly a cool climate Pinot Noir. The nose evoked the strongest memories of my trip to Champagne and Burgundy in early December. As other reviewers noted, the color was very pale. Taste delivered a depth of flavor and level of complexity I generally associate with mid-level Bourgogne bottlings. The finish wasn’t short, but wasn’t long either.
Overall an enjoyable bottle. Perhaps a tad high price-wise at $34. This is more a novelty experience than something I’d go back to over and over. It is by far the lowest price Coteaux Champenois I could find in the states. They are more widely available and better priced in France.

Very distinctively pinot noir in rose form. I found this bottle to be very refreshing - especially with the AC broken in the house. Good structure and lengthy finish when compared with other pinot noir rose efforts. Definitely a drink this year bottle. While there are more in the cellar, I can see this being my go-to for the 2017 season - thus needing to get some more before the small production is gone.

Very good. Made of primarily Dundee Hills grapes but bottled under Willamette Valley designation. Good red fruit with mild tobacco flavors. Popped and poured, said "wow." Definitely a rebuy for this vintage and looking forward to trying more from future vintages. And an excellent value at $20 here in Chicago.
