2017 Tapiz Malbec Alta Colección Mendoza
Much better offerings at this price point. All over the map with a pungent finish.

10/26/20, 1:50 PM - I prefer Catena Malbec 2016 RP92 WE88 VN88 for $17. I also like 2015 Mendel Malbec JS93 WS90 RP90 for $17. Both of these can be found on wine searcher for a $1 more a bottle than the 2017 Tapiz Malbec. If you are willing to spend a few bucks more the 2017 Mendel Malbec WE93 RP91 is really delicious. I paid $20 a bottle.

2015 Carmenet Chardonnay Vintner's Collection Reserve California
Got this because it promised an old fashioned (ie 1990s) butter bomb.

There is ample butter, but it's clashing in an especially horrid way with modern (ie stainless tank) acidity.

It's like the two styles (both nice on their own) are having a loud, nasty argument in my mouth.

Smells nice (even with a proper chilling), but from the attack onward it's a hot mess of confusing cross signals.

Makes food taste better by bringing out the flavor and making one relish the relief of having this godawful schizophrenic concoction cleared off the palette.

A wine should not make you wince with displeasure on every sip. This bottle should be less that 5 bucks at Gross Out, not ten at the local market.

7/24/16, 4:33 PM - Unfortunately, I had been lured into purchasing a couple of bottles of this prior to reading your review. Popped, poured, sipped and dumped this down the drain. An absolutely awful cacophony of sweet, woody, butter and citrus. Your review was hilarious!
