Five years since I had the first bottle. This is a fantastic Napa Valley red. Left bank Bordeaux style. Dark red. Cherries, berries, cedar and chocolate in the nose. Very full bodied and complex. Softish tannins.

Probably the best Barbaresco I had from this house (I have not yet opened the 2016). Very fruity in all aspects. Typical light ruby color. In the nose roses and cherries. Smooth, full bodied palate. Harmonious and balanced. Ripe silky tannins.

I expected somewhat more from this 2nd wine of Chateau Montrose, even though 2011 was a mediocre vintage. Dark red, cherries and black fruit in the nose. Medium bodied with silky tannins.

60 years old!! The 1964 vintage probably the best of the past century in Rioja. Cork came out intact with the Durand. Just a little bit of brownish rim. The nose as you would expect from a wine this old,but still lots of fruit and earthy aromas. The palate is complex which tannins that are still but slightly present. Good length in the aftertaste. Great old Rioja!!

Still a youngster. Pale red nebbiolo color. Lots of fruit in the nose. The palate is very pleasant with softish tannins for a young Barbaresco. This will certainly improve over the next decade.

Absolutely stunning amarone, which I place in the category with Dal Forno and Quintarelli (but much cheaper) . Lots of raisins, herbs and vanilla in the nose. The palate is very complex, with layers of different tastes. Great tannins and a long aftertaste. I could not resist trying this at it's young age. This can only improve over the next years to come.

I opened a first bottle 5 years ago. This wine has definitely improved further. 3 hour slow decant. Medium ruby. Red fruit an some tobacco in the nose. Elegant, concentrated palate with fine tannins and long aftertaste. Although I am sure this will hold for some years, I doubt whether it can improve much more. Second day just as good.

This is my first bottle of the 2018, tried after reading review from Joost H. Typical barolo light ruby/garnet red. Intense nose with red fruit. The palate is very elegant, yet complex with round tannins and a medium to long aftertaste. Curious to see how this will evolve over the years.

We visited this winery in Friuli this summer. Private tour and and an excellent tasting. This Goss is a fantastic expression of Chardonnay and its terroir. 18 months "sur lie" and 2 years bottle ageing. Straw yellow. Floral aromas with some vanilla. Full bodied with much depth. Should have brought home more.

Drank this BdM with family, dining outside. Decanted two hours and served at 18°. This is a textbook BdM. Very elegant and with finesse. After 10 years the tannins softened. Too bad I only had one bottle.

Dinner at ours with good friends. Beautiful weather. Prepared a very nice entrecote on the barbecue and we paired it with this great Poja. So much power in the glass. Just as good as the 2012 we drank a year ago. Bought this at the estate in Veneto, which gives good memories as well.

Made by Clos Mogador, well known for its excellent Priorat wines. This Monsanto is from a nearby DOG and 100% Grenache. 18 months in oak and one year in the bottle. Drinking this very young now, which suits the wine. Ruby red. Red fruit nose. The palate has herbs and some sweetness. Silky tannins. Love it😍

Dinner at friends. Our host opened his superb bottle to pair with venison. Dark purple with a stellar nose (it needs some time to open up). Very structured palate with lots of fruit remaining after 33 years. More proof what a top year 1990 has been(and still is) for Bordeaux

Probably the best Grüner Veltliner I ever had. Needs some air, was even better on the second day. So much minerality, tropical fruit and depth. Drank this in Hotel Bergland in Sölden, Austria. Will try to get a hold of some bottles. Surely this can be cellared for many years.

This wine has a special story. Made by three top winemakers from Austria, Italy and Germany. The wine is a blend of these three winemakers' best barrels of pinot noir. Wine is matured in Sölden at 3048 meters altitude at the Ice Q restaurant at the top of the Gaislachkogel (which is the place we drank it) and thus has to mature somewhat longer due to thinner air. Very fruity, full-bodied wine.

Somewhat amarone-like style in this Veneto wine. But made with very different grapes; Marzemino, Sangiovese and Cab Sauv. Lots of cherries in the nose. Powerfull palate, yet crisp. Tannins certainly present, but in a way that fits the palate well.

Truly an excellent amarone from what is considered to be a good year and certainly a good house. Deep garnet color. Aromas and palate of dried fruit and raisins. And as my wine friend Andre Feijs said, not too jammy. This is still improving, compared to the previouys bottle I drank in 2019

Elegant, mild, with lots of fresh dark fruit, powerful, not austere, invigorating and intelligent. Like we like to drink red from those parts. From an attractive year that does not require a long wait. The cassis cool, the blackberries good, the berries sour but not bitter, the laurel and the fun.

Top chianti riserva from a top vintage year. Dark ruby red with nice tears. Complex aroma's with earth and leather. Full bodied with not too much acidity. Oak and vanilla tones which are very integrated. Good length with fine tannins. Everyone at the table loved this on 2nd Xmas day. Only one bottle left, which I will open in five to ten years.
