Going through some of the 2004s that I have. Ah, ladybugs. Irony was that I have a few flying around the house for some reason. Very appropriate. Nice red color, soft red fruit and spice on the nose. Tastes of some red fruits, a touch of integrated wood, and some greenness. Good mouthfeel, enjoyable for what it is, tannins are soft without dryness. Ladybugs.

4/1/13, 3:42 AM - Ladybugs? Just guessing that refers to some form of taint or other quality of wine? I always enjoy your reviews...AM

At 12 years this is very youthful, and almost suspended animation, unchanged since my last bottle. This drinks like 1st/2nd growth bordeaux from a warm vintage, but for 25% of the cost! Dark fruit, ripe, tobacco, wet earth, dusty tannins, perfect balance. Drink over the next 3-5 years...AM
