Always a wine that I enjoy, although a bit less this year. Complexity seems be a bit less than the last number of years. Still nice though.

This was a fantastic bottle. We tried it at the winery, first winery of our SA trip on a glorious day. Such beautiful fruit, exuberant, fresh, long lasting.

Brought back from our 2013 France trip. Three hour decant. Medium to full bodied, dark, brooding wine. Medium bodied on mouthfeel. Nice and enjoyable with lamb ragu.

Always such a spectacular wine. Still a strong, vibrant wine with great acidity and tropical fruits. Medium to full bodied. Lovely.

At the end of its life. Still ok, but really doesn't have much complexity at this point. Should have drunk it three or four years ago. Medium bodied.

Very rich, full bodied, complex. Very enjoyable wine. Went well with food and even on its own. Had a depth that not all CA syrahs have.

Full bodied, rich, ripe, but still enough acidity and fruit to be quite enjoyable. Tropical fruits. Interesting contrast to the 2014. This seems a bit bigger.

This was excellent. A bit more modern and big for my style typically, but the fruit here was wonderful with a great combination of depth, complexity and color. Really a wonderful wine worth seeking out.

Very nice, still very vibrant, long finish, full bodied, dark colored. Quite lovely, without being overbearing.

This was fantastic. All the right notes from fruit to acidity to flavor to finish. Really what one should have in a chardonnay from CA. Excellent job.

Very enjoyable bottle. Bigger than the WS Olivet Lane. More tropical fruits here and longer finish.

Didn't love this. Grapey, overbearing, not their typical wines that I love. Not sure what it was, but too much for my palate.

Very nice, all in place as it should be. Somehow it didn't speak to me in the same way as some other recent vintages. Normally I'm totally blown away by this wine. Everything was correct from the color to the alcohol/tannin/structure ratio. Hard to clarify what it was, but more something about the complexity I think.

I typically very much enjoy this wine. While it was still good, the complexity of the fruit was slightly less than in some previous vintages I've had. Also, it was a bit heavier of a wine and less fresh. Drink up.

The bottle note is quite correct that this is a more elegant, feminine style of Zin. Beautiful wine and such a nice contrast to some Zins out there. Almost pinot like in some aspects (not the fruit). Fun to pair this with one of their heavier Zins as a contrast.

Very pretty wine. Medium bodied, notes of white flowers. Elegant wine that still has good vitality.

Drank all three of the expositions together. What a fun experience. Colorwise generally similar, dark. Flavor profiles were quite different, although equally good. What a treat to compare and contrast them. Think #3 was my fav.

Bright cherry notes. Not a heavy wine, very nicely styled. Light to medium bodied, lighter in color.

This certainly was an interesting wine. Had some effervescence, flavor profile was light, went in all directions from the different grapes in it. Some vegetal notes, some depth, some sweetness. Interesting to try.

Always a fan of this wine. Deeper, brooding cherry notes, darker color. Doesn't swerve into too much though. Goes well with duck with a cherry, balsamic glaze.

Funniest thing about this bottle was the very first sip--had a note of blue cheese, the one thing I can't stand to eat. Just after that though, the wine was perfectly wonderful. Medium bodied, great fruit, medium yellowish color. Really love the wines from Allen vineyard.

This is a strange one to review. While I enjoyed some aspects of it (the heft, balance and color), stylistically it was not in the category of what I generally love about Bedrock wines. There almost seemed something non-distinctive about this particular wine that is always so evident in their wines. Could be just personal preference as well.

Still doing very well. Medium bodied, longish finish. Very nice wine. Not the tropical fruits from some of their chards, but also not as lean fruit wise as some. Great balance.

Interesting wine to try. Probably my first Plavina. Medium bodied. If I had to compare, would say the body and some fruit of a pinot, with notes of St. Laurent. Enjoyable to try. Good with turkey, also can imagine with pork.

I was very impressed with this. Of course I approach it with hesitation, given the climate and overall lack of experience with VA wines (save for cab francs from barbourville). This was a very nice surprise. Light to medium bodied, nice complexity, light color. Not a lightweight though. Really had some complexity and nice pear notes to it. Would recommend.

Definitely on the downward slope. Didn't have the vibrancy some other bottles we had had. Really enjoy the fruit with this typically. Not off, but just is ready to drink. Love the interesting varietals.
