Slightly over its peak as the colour is off a bit, but still enjoyable to drink. Tasted upon uncorking, dark fruits aroma but taste slightly blunt. Decant for few hours and it opens up the flavours on the palate. Don't keep further.

Prominent blackcurrants and blend of dark fruit with a pinch of herbs. Dominant presence of eucalyptus I must say, relatively to other wines with the characteristic. Slightly earthy chalk towards the end of the session. Mild spicy notes on the palate. Smooth tannins. A lively medium-full body reserve cab.

Well-balanced ruby red Heathcote's Shiraz with darkfruits, yet not overwhelming. Spicy note with a cocktail nuances of vanilla, dark chocolate and prunes. Initial presence of a short-life gamey aroma. After aerating, there's a brief appearance of vegetal note. On palate, less fruity (but increases over time) with berries & cherry and its sourness. Spicy with an abundance of young tannins. A medium body but short finishing red that ends with herbal aftertaste that lingers with the tannins. A 14.5% abv.

Fruits forward Rhône blend of darkfruits, cherry, plum with a prominent leather aroma over the foreground. Nuances of dried currants and licorice at the tail end. Slightly pepper. Darkfruits on palate with leathery (again) and earthy notes. Mildly spiced sensation. Medium-full bodied for a 14.5% with somewhat grippy and velvety tannins. Medium finishing. Sumptuous low yielding old vines Shiraz. Fruits forward laden with darkfruits, blackberry and cassis uniquely led by smoky notes on the foreground. Oak and licorice too. Great complexity but balanced with an exception to the smoky that is quite stood out. Good depth on palate with cassis and dark chocolate. Fine spicy sensation and slightly earthy. Medium to long finishing. Rich in texture of a full bodied. Able to continue to cellar for many more years, but great to drink now too.

First time tasting a fortified shiraz. Port-like bold sweetness and richness masking lots of aroma. Caramel with a touch of honey. Interesting dessert wine that's not as overly complex in flavour as a Port. I wished I have more time to slowly enjoy this.

An elaborate dark ruby red for a Primitivo, dark fruit of ripe blackberry and blueberry with plum over a backdrop of chocolate-oaky. Spicy herbs notes on nose too. I personally enjoy an Italian red with nuances of floral. Fleshy on palate reflected by the 'sweetness' of the ripe dark berries. Dark chocolate appears on the tongue too that ends with a spicy sensation. Velvety-fine tannins. Rounded medium full body and medium finishing. Good to drink now, but voluminous enough to cellar further. Good QPR.

Lovely pale salmon rose from a blend of Grenache and Cinsault. Although low profile on aroma, yet it's refreshingly delicious. It displays a subtle nose of strawberries, raspberry, nuances of peach and a definite citrus. The palate with strawberry, citrus and fine hints of chalk. Crisp acidity. Medium body and a long dry finishing. A Provence rose with an Australian touch. Lovely.

3rd bottle in 3 consecutive years. It is now as good as it gets, better to drink this year than before. The aroma opens up well, after almost 2hrs of decanting with an extra help in aeration, flourished with an intense darkfruits & blackcurrant. Mild pepper on nose over an oaky notes. Good strength on palate with a host of delicious darkfruits and a not too overwhelming spicy sensation. Now with a softer tannins. Same full body & long finishing.

Garnet red Cabernet Sauvignon with 9% Merlot. Briefly decant & drank within 2 hours. At the outset, it was biased towards redfruits of cherry & cranberry. Gradually, the darkfruits appears in balance with hints of blackcurrant. Peppery on nose.
Gentle on the palate with fruity reds and a late licorice note. Apposite intensity of spicy notes over a rather low intensity (for a Cab) but of a fine tannin tenacity. Redfruits sourness on a medium finishing that ends with a chalky lingers. Medium body at 13.5%.

18-months aged in oak barrel & 14.8% abv, as with its Cabernet Franc. Breathe for 2-4 hrs. Gracefully aged in cellar for 10 yrs, the blend is well-balanced & very much fruits forward with darkfruits of blackcurrant, blackberries and appetising dried fruits. Nice touch of dark chocolate and oak. Mild spiciness on nose. Delicious and juicy on palate, a balance of darkfruits and blackberries. Moderate spiciness that lingers and oaked-dark chocolate. Matured velvety tannins that last. Long welcoming finishing.

My first taste of Cabernet Franc going solo. Quite unique on its own. Mid aroma intensity, fruity and green. It has quite a prominent vegetal character that masks but slowly gives way to redfruits aroma of cherry and raspberry. Fine nuances of oak and chalky notes towards the tail end of glass. Redfruits and plumy sour note on flavour with its very soft yet encapsulating matured tannins. Woody too. Round & unctuous on texture. There's a sense of herbal aftertaste that lingers. Overall, medium (-) finishing

Cloudy Bay's never disappoint. Savoured the '14,' 15 and '16 vintages over the last 3 years. I must says this is as flavoursome as the' 14 with more body through the citrus zesty taste, yet not cloying. Refreshing acidity on palate as ever. Well-controlled consistency across vintages with ripe tropical fruits of pineapple and lemony freshness on the aroma.

2017 is as good as it gets. Looking forward for 2018

The aroma begins with redfruits and cherry followed by a welcoming hints of biscuity. Kind of green and lightly spicy. Mild darkberry creeping in after. On palate, less fruity/juicy as compared to the nose with red fruits and sourness of plum. Packed with quite an intensed spicy notes. Relatively medium-light body with mid finishing. Good level of tannins that lingers with chalky aftertaste. Overall, good on aroma but slightly lacking on taste. Expected more, nevertheless, this is a lower range from Wynns

Vivid light ruby red Negroamaro. Comparing to 2014 vintage, this has a lower QPR, less intense with a lower body. Although I still enjoy the aroma of cherry (initial) turns blackberry + dried berries with dark chocolate and a late hints of spicy note, the palate is relatively lesser. Mid plumy darkfruits with minerality notes that lingers. Only an intermittent juiciness. Higher intensity of spicy note than the nose. Possessed a velvety yet grainy tannins with medium finishing.

Giving this 100% Chardonnay a high 90 for its generosity in richness at its price point. A relative new spin-off range by Ventisquero, this 'entry' is filled with savory tropical fruits, ripe pineapple and citrus. Fruity on palate too. Quite a dry white. Medium body with a nice thirst quenching acidity and clean finishing. An excellent all-rounder at its price

Delish furmint blend tokaji as an aperitif to end the evening with cheesecake. A deep golden yellow at 12.5%. Apparent aroma of apricot coupled finely with scents of floral and a hint of nutty. Ripe fruits beaming with honey and dried sour plum on palate. Hints of elderflower revealed towards the end. A 5 puttonyos sweetness that begins pretty strongly and lingers off slowly for a semi long finishing. An unusual brief 'spicy' (or similar) sensation at the back of the tongue with every sip.

Fruits forward. Boldly blackcurrant and darkfruits initially, slowly skewed towards red berries with a fine hint of vanilla. Innuendo of eucalyptus as the pungent spicy sensation on the nose kicks in. Relatively less fruity on palate with semi-ripe berries and plumy notes. Subtle woody notes. Voluminous yet a very fine tannins. A similar intensity of spicy notes at the back of the tongue. On contrary to our expectation, it's a medium body with a medium-long finishing.

Ripe sweet fruity notes of pineapple and apple with nuances of pear. Fine hints of floral and chalky towards the end. On palate, biting citrus peels that lingers briefly. Refreshing acidity yet on a lower level complements well with a semi-sweetness on tongue. A sparklings that pops, really pops ... and we popped it! We enjoyed it as is, even though the label recommended to have it on ice. Had it with curry fish head.

Pale straw and at 11%, this is a lovely extra dry sparkling Prosecco with an aromatic bouquet of lemon, ripe pear and scent-ful of perfumed florals. The same apparent of floral carried well onto the palate, and with citrus peels too. Refreshing medium level of acidity, very much quaffable. I could continue to enjoy the scent of floral after emptying the glass. This spumante should positioned well between 3.5 (kinda underrated) and 4.0.

We had a 'reluctant' bottle with its aroma showing some potential, however the flavour is kinda dumb. We had it briefly aired for an hour. Straightforward darkfruits and blackberry followed by an earthy mixed with oak. On palate, almost exclusively earthy. Mild on tannins. Only after some pour & swirls & swirls, it begins to reveal a mid intensity of darkfruits note. By then, we are already out of juice. I'm disappointed with this bottle, but not the vintage as it has received so much of good reviews.

Another elegant Cabernet of Coonawarra, with depth. Plenty of fruity aroma of cherries and darkfruits glazed by dark chocolate. Herbaceous with a fine hint of mint. Spicy sensation on nose too. Intense juicy currants on palate for a long finishing. Full body of an unctuous texture on the tongue, chewy. Lots of tannins that grips and lingers. Did I forget about a subtle spicy note on palate? Good to drink now or cellar longer, much longer. Recommended!

10%abv with sweetness of refreshing peach on the nose. Hints of fresh apple with fine caramel notes. A fellow taster claims it's citrusy too. Similarly, peach again on palate with a thirst quenching sweetness that doesn't overly linger, nice. Relatively mild in acidity. Medium to full body. A good value late harvest. The type of wine grape is not on the 2017 label ... it is a white blend of Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdelho, Riesling and Chardonnay

Shiraz with a depth yet too balance, making it kind off difficult. Immediately upon decanting, it shows an intense cassis richness on nose. 2hrs+ later, the cassis shared the nose with notes of red berries and licorice. Woody oak aroma was noted too with hints of meaty. Peppery as well. On palate, juicy cassis, ripe berries and dark chocolate. Intense spicy notes and lots of gripping tannins. I could easily say it's very much a NZ Sauvignon Blanc. This Bordeaux (Sauvignon Blanc - Semillon) however is not as rich on aroma. Lemon, green apple, hints of pear over a fruity sweetness. Nice fragrance of floral that follows. On palate, lemon with a fine touch of zesty peels. It is rather off dry in the beginning that moves towards to the soft acidity after.

An instant sense of mild berries aroma upon decanting. Slowly it opens up with a strong blackcurrant notes after over an hour. It develops further after 2hrs, came the cherry on the foreground backed by herbs with a tinge of eucalyptus, nuances of darkfruits and oak woody notes. Bold fruity berries notes flavours in unison on palate. Plum-sour acidity held these together. Full body, medium finishing. Tannins kind of harsh in the last pour, with a reduced fruity flavour & becoming more herbaceous oaky.

Lovely Gewurztraminer at a high 14.5% but with a sense of an off-dry. Started with apricot and patiently moved on to pear and an appetising floral note. Fruit forward with ripe peach and nuances of honey-floral nectar fragrance. Slightly nutty. Although it's a brut sparklings, it possessed an off-dry sweetness. Medium acidity balanced by the mild fruity sweetness providing a medium-full body amidst the fizziness. Smoother on mouthfeel rather. Closer to 4 rather than a 3.5, and also I personally prefer an off dry sparklings.
