4/5/21, 4:58 PM - For sure the wine has years to go. No thoughts on the '11 at this point. We opened the '12 over the weekend to compare to '12 Bryant and Scarecrow and the Monte Bello was super tight and young. Maybe 3-5 years more before drinking.
4/24/19, 3:30 PM - BTW I have been drinking just about every Saxum made for many years and while the bottles do change over time - I am not sure they really improve n the sense that they are markedly better than in the year or so after release.
12/25/18, 10:51 AM - They recently changed the rules in Colorado and the liquor can now be part of the actual store when before they had to have separate legal ownership. The selection at the Gypsum/Eagle Vail Costco is amazing. 2009 Screaming Eagle anyone?!
12/25/18, 5:31 PM - The SR was 2499 with is a good price if you are in the market for that kind of insanity. They had first growths with age on them at very reasonable prices
8/25/17, 1:04 PM - All three bottles were purchased at auction. No signs of seepage, heat damage, capsules and corks were all sound. Given the range of scores must be some sort of bottle variation.
9/7/17, 3:46 PM - Appreciate the follow through. No TCA aka corked wine. Typically, the kind of heat exposure you are describing results in seepage, cork protrusion or the capsule adhering to the neck. All of the bottles were outwardly sound, with fine corks and capsules and as noted the wines were consistently flawed.
