Amazingly aged barolo - love it! Not the best year in Piedmont, but I think this wine still has some aging potential in it. Excellent tannins provide a strong structure for the wine from the 'mouth entry' to the finish, which is long and velvety.

I have a bottle in the cellar that I'm thinking of getting into soon

Decanted two hours, in my four plus decades of decanting fine wine I have never seen such a massive amount of sediment, this includes many vintages of aged ports,
What an excellent bottle of Barolo, great balance, spicy red fruit, big earthy flavors, outstanding finish, all I could asked for and more from an aged Barolo.

Curious if my '04 will have the same.

Still very good, love the medium red-brown color and how it paired with the pasta and tomato sauce.

just curious what the sediment in the bottle was like. I opened an '03 a few months ago and i swear there were actual rose pedals in the bottle.

I took a look at the '04 in the cellar and it looks to be the same.
