Clear pale/medium garnet; clean medium nose of dusty work shed, dried figs, slight iodine, charred meat and horse saddle; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium body; pronounced flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of cocoa, black licorice, tar and coffee; long finish; drink now or in 5 years but seems close to peak now; beautiful wine!; notes are for straight out of the bottle; the wine was noticeably subdued after about 30 minutes in the glass; we like our Brunellos with a little edge so we’ll be popping and pouring our next bottle

Clear deep ruby/garnet; clean medium nose of cassis, balsamic, grilled meat and cigar box; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; medium plus alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter; long finish; drink now with a decant or in 5 or 10 years; shy out of the bottle but opened up after about 45 minutes; lovely subtle wine - rich on the nose and silky on the palate

Clear deep ruby with a garnet watery rim; clean medium plus nose of cassis, cedar, raspberry jam, graphite and cracked fall leaves; dry; high acidity; medium plus tannins; medium alcohol; medium plus body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is slightly tarter with addition of cocoa and ripe red cherries; long finish; drink now or in 10 years; just starting the shift to tertiary; started a little hot and then transformed into an elegant Bordeaux

Clean medium garnet; clean medium nose of barnyard, dry mushrooms and some acetone; dry; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; medium alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; pfn with addition of earthy soil, mushroom and fennel; long finish; poured from bottle and drunk over about 20 minutes; started quite balanced and then acidity became more aggressive and tartness increased; beautiful experience; less interesting and complex than the 1934 Charmes-Chambertin (as expected)

Ruby with ruby rim; wicked viscosity; nose of pepper, raisins, ripe cherry and alcohol; palate follows nose with sour notes and burn; medium, watery finish; burn takes it out balance; doesn't taste like its price point
