Lite strawberry and rosemary on the nose.
More of the same in the mouth with moderate acidity and light flavors.
The complexity is minimal.
The tannins are still there and felt at the tip of the tungue.

Cork was in in good shape with minimal seepage of less than 1cm.
Poured into a decanter and the sediment stayed in the bottle stuck to the side that had been down.
Garnet red color shows some age.
The aromatics are a bit restrained.
It smells like raw beef, baked blueberries, cedar, and raspberries.
It's pretty balanced in the mouth with fruit, acidity, and velvety tannins.
Drink or Hold. It's in a secondary stage of development with some primary features.

Cellared since release at 55-65ºF.
Perfect cork.
Splash decanted.
Very aromatic, it fills the room with blackberry from the decanter.
In the mouth, it's bright with lots of juicy blackberry and strawberry, leather, and dusty minerality.
It's medium bodied and the tannins are seamlessly integrated and polished now.
This is in a good place today and worth trying if you have a few and haven't tried one 4-5 years.

Perfect cork, no leakage.
Red purple color.
Aromatics are a little reserved with volcanic umami.
It's sour with high acidity and that gives it some raison flavors.
There is some roasted blueberry that's really nice.

Garnet red color.
Masculine aromatics, roasted meat, blackberry, rhubarb and blueberry.
In the mouth it's very acidic and medium to light bodied.

The acidity was too high on day one so I recorked it and was able to try again 6 days later. It’s much better bow, more balanced, and now with more sweet cherry, limestone, and just a little Vosne spice. Still has slightly tight tannins and medium to high acidity.

After a second taste, I increased my rating from 88 to 92. It has a lot of potential. I would recommend a decanter and some time based upon this bottle.

Opaque black purple with some red.
The aroma is forté with some horse manure, blackberry, and decayed wet wood.
In the mouth, it's still young and tannic.
The tannins are tight.
Give this one some time or lots of air with a splash decant.

Tasted again after recorked for 5 days. It's much better. I increased. the score by 2 points. Funky manure is gone and raspberry and blackberry come through more front and center. Tannins are also a little more open.

It has a medium brick red color with a clear rim.
At first, lots of bright cherry. After 1-2 hours it’s more complex but more muted. Cherry still comes through and now there is rhubarb, fresh wild chanterelles, leather, and a little awkward funkiness with iodine.
It’s light in the mouth with some strawberry and raspberry.
Acidity is balanced and body is in the lighter side if medium.

2006 David Duband Charmes-Chambertin Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir (view label images)
Cork was stained 1” from the bottom.

It reminds me of a generic burgundy, nothing special or unique, no terroir.

Brown garnet color.

Low to medium aromatics with some cherry and mineral funk.

The tannins are big and like a 120 grade sandpaper, a little rough, but not too bad.

Maybe this one is in a dumb phase, not at all at a Grand status today. This bottle was very average and forgettable.

Then a recorked it and forgot about it for a week because of travel.
After a week, it's still surprisingly unoxidized and drinking well.
Raspberry and blueberry on the nose with a hint of Hubba Bubba bubblegum and licorice+char on the far back end.
Tannins are still grabby on the tongue.

Purchased on release and in my cellar at 55-65ºF since.
The impeccable cork is encrusted with tartaric crystals and stained up the cork side no more than 4 mm from the inner surface.

The aromatics are reticent but emerge with some coaxing.

There's good fruit in the mouth with aeration: Ripe cherry, sweet rhubarb with a bit of cinnamon and a hint Red Bull which is odd, but not bad, if you happen to like Red Bull.

I get bloody leather on the back end of the aroma.

The tannins are a bit dry.

Not at it's best today. Maybe it's past it's prime or maybe it's in an awkward phase.

I picked up this bottle at the winery years ago.
Stored at 55-63F, and 63% humidity.
Baked blackberries, cherry, and pomegranate.
Very balanced and medium to full bodied.
The tannins are big but so well integrated that you barely notice them on the tip of the tongue and around the gums.

Lots. of funky aromas and tobacco at first pull.
After 30-60 minutes the funk is gone and there was red and blue fruit, mocha, and the tobacco became much less pronounced, the tannins had a good punch, but were very smoothly grained. There was a bit of limestone, not quite oyster shell hidden in the profile. Improved over 2 hours.
I would recommend a decant and a little air time for the next one.
Drink or hold. It's in a nice place now and would be a matter of personal preference, lots of fruit and secondary aromatics.

This bottle was purchased upon release and stored between 55-65°F and humidity 59-67%.

Wine stained the cork at its greatest, 5mm above it’s bottom surface. The full cork measured 55mm.
There were also a few crystals on the cork dirface.

At first, the wine smelled like fresh shucked oysters which isn’t amazing for wine. This dissipated after 5-10 minutes.

Fruit: dark fruit like blueberry, a hint of strawberry, and a little bubblegum.

Funk: there is just a hint of funky stink, mostly in a good way.

Wood: there is some chainsaw cut maple wood on the end aroma.

Je ne say quois: soupçon of McD French fry

Umami: dried shitaki mushroom aroma comes through

Acidity: I detect a slight hint of pickle from a barrel. Very bright and balanced.

Overall: very good. It’s in middle maturity.

Unbelievably dark in color, it looks like a syrah.
Nice aromatics, dark fruit and some herb.
In the mouth, it’s a black licorice bomb!
The acidity comes through with some aeration, and the tannins cling on to the side of my tongue and cheeks.
The finish goes on and and just lingers until the next taste. Love it!

Very open and expressive. There was baked blackberry and blueberry , chocolate lava cake, and a hint of mint. The acidity was completely balanced and the tannins were like velvet. The finish went on for minutes.

I tasted this again 2 days after being recorked. To my surprise, I found it to be better on the second round. It had more cherry and less baked fruit. I initially gave this a 91 but upgraded it to a 93 after the second tasting. The tannins were also more silky and clean.

Golden straw in color gives away it's young age.
There was definite botrytis in the nose, and a hint of matchstick.
In the mouth, it was sweet and spicy.
I pick up apricot, and orange marmalade in it's fruit profile.
It finishes a little short to medium in length with a touch of alcohol heat.
It leaned the scale towards sweetness and lacks the acidity it would need to be better balanced.
Quite nice for the price.

Super extracted cherry and a touch of red raspberry come out in the aromas along with some woodsy and dried herbal qualities.

Purchased on release, and cellared at 55-60 degrees since then.
The cork was soft, slightly brittle, and streaked to the top in one area.
The color was brickish red.
At first, the aroma hits you with a tidal wave of oyster shells and minerality and some deeply buried Vosne spice.
After taking a breath, it shows some strawberry.
The acidity was strong a bit overpowering.
The tannins were grippy and prickly.

Stored at 55-65 degrees F in the OWC (original wood case) since release from Schrader Cellars.

Does anyone know what RBS means?

The wine stained the glass with a violet hue, leaning a little blue.

The aroma started out and finished very subtle and hidden. it wasn't an obvious wine. instead, with each breath in, there was a new flavor. When I breathed in slowly, I noticed camphor, lead pencil, and strawberry pie. A strange and interesting blend.

With a swift deep inhalation, there was still camphor, but also fire roasted blueberry and a bit of cinnamon.

in the mouth, it's a little hot with ethanol.

This bottle was an interesting journey for the sense of smell. The aromas were not obvious.

If you have a bottle, hold it for now.
