Mid gold. Slightly dumb nose - maybe some straw, but very simple. Palate was flat and acid has fallen over a cliff since my last bottle. Now really uninteresting. Maybe a dud bottle. Anyway check if you have any. Nothing like a 2005 Tyrrells or top Brokenwood.

A quite muted nose that even a decant and an hours breathing didn’t change much. Palate was much better. Powerful fruit coupled with very crunchy acidity and absolute length to burn made me wish I had left this for another 5 years. Still a bit adolescent I think.

Compared to a 2009 Foillard Morgon CdP drank at the same time , this was softer and more diffuse. A lovely easy drinking Morgon at its peak I think. Doesn’t have the structure ,spine or acidity to improve I think. Will keep on this plateau for another 5 years I guess if kept in a cool cellar

Lovely wine. Quite a powerful Morgon but thankfully there is excellent structure and acidity to keep its shape and freshness. Lots of spicy fresh fruit and nice length gives this wine quite a bit of complexity. Not at its peak if kept in a cool cellar. Showed more freshness and clarity than the 2009 Lapierre Morgon had at the same time.

After a number of years when this wine was dumb and quite simple, it has now blossomed into a wonderful rendition of a lifted, spicy and complex bojo. Mid weight with lovely red fruits and a spicy after taste, that lovely fresh crunchy refreshing acidity and good length makes this a superb wine drinking just about perfectly. Well done.

Lovely green dark straw colour that flashes in the glass. Lime lemon nose with some softer citrus and honey notes. Powerful palate , more honey and lime with a long palate and a touch of residual sugar but still good acid cut. Lovely wine at its peak. Don’t want to see it go blowsy.

Lovely quintessential Chablis. Still pale yellow. A mix of medium level fruit richness with lovely minerally freshness on the palate. Quite full bodied and powerful but within a Chablis framework. Everything you want a 1er Chablis.

Yeah a bit disappointing at this stage. Very simple and agree a short finish. High acidity might be hiding the fruit so hope another couple of years will fill out this wine otherwise off to auction. Disappointing

Lovely complex great western Shiraz. Medium weight and just sooo beautifully balanced. Great length. Don’t think it’s a long keeper. While it will go for another 15 years not sure it will improve. I would drink it over next couple of years. Lovely winet

No browning. Lovely nose lifted floral rose petal. Nice fruit with quite a structured palate. Well put together. Long palate. Really needs food to balance the tannins though. Lovely wine

At long last starting to come out of its closed grumpy tannic shell. Still dark red colour with little bricking, mushrooms, earthy and just a snip of fruit. Better than previous bottle which was completely dumb.

Lots of dark fruit, spice and quite full bodied for a chambolle, importantly the tannins are no longer particularly dry and raspy, still firm but much more rounded. Long finish. Powerful rich wine and perfect for winter. I think this still has lots of future potential, would love to see this in another 10 years.

Compared to the 2013 Home Hill Kelly’s Reserve Pinot this seemed much tighter and still overtly oaky though there is lots of dark fruit below the surface which with another couple of years should come more into balance. Not a flashy wine but potentially a very good wine

Excellent Tassie Pinot that has actually improved and gained complexity with age unlike many that seem to not progress but rather just become an older version of the original.

Still quite dark though with some bricking, exuberant nose of dark black fruits now complexed with herby top notes. Very aromatic. While at least mid weight it keeps it in check with some nice tannin structure and a lovely long finish. Better than I had hoped or expected. My gut feeling is that this is drinking now at its peak.

This bottle was quintessential Chablis. Pale, shimmering with such purity of fruit and lovely crunchy acidity. Excellent with oysters and sushi. Note that an earlier bottle a year ago was much more muddled and might have had a touch of tca.

Lovely MaV. Rather than crunchy fruit this is smooth like silk but still with enough acid to more than satisfy as well as a lovely long finish. Sort of tell it was made using Burgundian technique, and by a top burgundy producer. One of the best MaV I have had.

Absolutely top class Chambolle. All you would expect from Chambolle and Fourrier. It’s all about purity , finesse , red fruits. And of course a lovely long palate.

Unfortunately the nose was scalped and the palate was flat and lifeless. Why bother with natural cork when this happens!

This is now a lovely earthy, still red -fruited Gevrey of impeccable providence. Maybe some top notes of sweet spicy vanilla oak, however like pepper it now adds to the complexity. Long palate with earth and spice. Just a lovely Gevrey. Unlike a 2002 Laurent Chambolle Charles that was corked!

Very dull flat nose. I think Chermette is still coming to terms with screw caps and the level of sulphur and problems with reduction. Palate was ok , good fruit but lacked freshness and transparency. Disappointing

Disappointing. Lacks vitality and freshness. Also quite developed, more petrolly than expected and seemingly low acidity means it lacks freshness. No better than many much more commercial water ale rieslings

Nice fresh fruit driven nose. Palate is very simple, not much structure but tannins are pretty fine and ripe. Finishes a bit short. Nose is the best part of this wine unfortunately. Nothing wrong with it. Similar to a top makers Langhe neb.

Still dark full bodied colour which was a bit of a surprise for a Canberra Shiraz. Thankfully still just medium bodied , with plummy earthy notes , lovely velvety palate with fine tannins and still lovely freshness from the acid. Be surprised if it had any vignogier in it. Very impressive

Still quite primary. Tannins are now ripe and integrated unlike in 2015 when fruit and tannins still slightly separate.
Nice red/black fruit dominant palate, still not much secondary notes though complexity is building. Maybe a bit linear and straightforward but no worse for being so friendly. Nice wine. Not sure if future cellaring will necessarily improve. Good drinking now though the structure will allow another 5 years cellaring , but for what?

Restrained nose. Lacking the minerally fruit dominant nose of most bojos. Lovely palate though which drives this wine with a long finish. Not so much minerally or crunchy but softer and cherry- plum based. Unfortunately didn’t improve with air

Mid yellow. Rich lifted nose with some mandarin botrytis notes but still fresh. Still lots of oyster and lemon on the palate, but not a great deal of complexity. The acid finish suggests more cellar time but that rich botrytis could overwhelm. I’d drink any more up in the next year or 2.

There must be some serious bottle variation with this wine. An earlier bottle in July was very ordinary, yet this wine was absolutely quintessential top cru bojo. Lifted minerally red fruits on the nose, more blood orange, tangy minerally iron notes on the palate. Lots of fresh acidity with great length. A lovely not overwrought MaV

This was far better than the modest appellation would have you expect. Lovely lifted red fruited nose with hints of spice and cedar. More Chambolle on the palate with lots of finesse, again red fruited in a mid weight structure. Quite fresh, more than you would expect from the vintage but excellent length. A lovely SLB.

One of the best Aust Riesling I have had in the last 5 years. Lots of intensity on both the nose and palate. Actually quite Germanic with lime and geranium lifted citrus tones on the nose. Ripping acidity with intense lime and citrus filling out the mid palate. Great length. A top wine from anywhere. Bravo Helm!

Just a beautiful, quintessential off dry vouvray by a master. Lovely texture, gorgeous honey, barley sugar and truffles notes on nose and palate. Good length and nice freshness to finish. Not sure it will ever taste better though will easily last another 10 years. Wish I had more.

Still very dark red/purple - amazing for a 10 year old hunter. Dark plum and some typical hunter earth but still very primary. Lovely mid weight but richly fruited quintessential hunter Shiraz. Has that lovely softness with great length and good acid that means while its lovely now , can only be better in 5-10 years time , particularly given its under screwcap

Ruby colour with a touch of mahogany on the rim. Lovely complex red fruits with some secondary notes of earth and wet sticks. Nicely balanced in the mouth with still fresh primary fruit with crisp freshness and great length. Tannins are there but now complement the length and are fine not at all hard or rustic. Lovely wine. Starting it’s peak drinking. Will drink next bottle in another 5 years

Deep colour. Quite intense nose lifted oak and black fruits. Palate is still quite extracted and a bit blocky. Lacks finesse and too four square. There is enough fruit however that may still be there when the tannins are resolved but are not totally convinced. Could always be a bit unbalanced. Let’s see in another 5 years .

No bricking in the colour, just a lovely iridescent emerald . Just starting to get some lovely earthy hunter notes together with pure red fruited highlights. Just mid weight, what stands out is the purity of the fruit on both nose and palate. Quite a lot of intensity on the palate with a lovely soft but beautifully balanced finish. Given this balance it’s a lovely wine to drink now or leave for another 5-10 years.
