Deep purple in colour, this robust red has an intense nose of black currant, stewed plum, earth and spice.
Dry, medium + acid and medium + tannins with full body, good intensity and a medium finish.
Flavours of ripe plum, raspberry, baking spices, black currant, black berry.
Very good, intense wine, but lacks complexity and length.
Great for the price point, and would pair well with a rich and meaty dinner.

Will only improve with time. Similar to other vintages: good purity, garrique, herbal notes etc, excellent acidity and overall so well-balanced... Very good on second day. Parker 88-90, I agree completely...

11/25/18, 12:53 PM - Retaste today. Same note, just an addition that the syrah element is very noticeable in the aftertaste. Lovely tight dark olive meat licorice finish. Still very very fresh, would recommend saving it a few years if you have it in the basement.

I had this with lamb. Did not decant. Some blackcurrant and licorice. Not many tannins left. But overall a bit disappointed, not as great a wine as I had expected. I will decant the next bottle to see if that helps.
  • Soreng commented:

9/27/18, 11:35 AM - Decanting will help, this wine developed considerably over the three hours we drank it, increasing in depthless drakness intensity and tannin. But here in 2018 it is already good after about 1/2 an hour. Interesting, complex and developing wine that has all the elements of 'great wine'.

Typical aromas for unoaked rueda verdeja. Good purity and lovely acidity, fruitdriven and mineral. Slightly sweet on the finish. Quite amazing value for money at 6 €. Really good everyday white which easily beats much other ‘consumer’ (all wine is meant to be consumed right?) wine up to 12 € good potential too. 87-88+

9/19/18, 2:06 PM - No change on second day maybe even a bit better. Drink this at around 10 degrees and you are actually in for a real treat.

Good purity of fruit, garrigue and yoghurt in the nose and taste. Juicy and light smooth tannin, but the sweetness/warmth ruins it for me. Drink now and relatively cool and its very enjoyable - does not quite live up to its price or the rumours of the domaine though. 88-89, RP 90

Yoghurt and strawberry jam on the nose, much minerals too, and some dark coffee. Medium body, no oak. Light and juicy, some bitter-tones on the finish, very soft tannin, out-powered by fresh acidity and sweetness. Sweetness to the limit, but far from typical Argentinian, really enjoyable. Like the other Zorzal wines I have tasted, quite confusing and unique. Worth trying out if you can get it. 88-90.

7/6/18, 12:50 PM - Wouldnt hesitate to rate this 90 by now, consistent notes and even more now unusual and unique wine. Drinking perfect at this point, temperature is vital with this wine, drink it not too cool, if you dont you will miss its qualities.

Good purity and nice bittertones, bone dry. A real pleasure, very good everyday wine, you will regret you did not by more. Seems to have potential, best on third day. 88-90. Suckling 92

for style, great taste and good tannic grip. Always a pleasure, consistent year after year. 18 months well balanced oak at this price..
  • Soreng commented:

5/13/18, 12:45 PM - Retasted: very concentrated, full body, dark as hell. Candied chewy taste with tourica national apparent/dominating. Much tannin. Not a small wine, this can last a long time.

Positive surprise, bought at the local supermarket in desperate need of a decent wine with little expectations and risk-awareness. Nose: strawberry, cdp spice and garigue. Mouth: Clean and pure, full body, super spicy and intense, good balance. By the way decanted for three hours.

2/14/18, 10:23 AM - Raisinry notes become very noticeable on second day.

Juicy and still fresh. To the sweet side and disappoints a little in terms of complexity and depth, but saved by the lovely juicyness. Good purity. 89-90

10/18/17, 1:11 PM - Second bottle: i missed the intense peppery spice the first time around, its good well balanced wine, infiltered which shows:-)

Vanilla (new) oak noticable at this point, fruit in the background. Hard to tell if fruit will come through but distant hint of deeper fruit and dark chocolate and coffee and classical bordeaux in the nose. A bit disappointing medoc, not very traditionel in style as promised.
  • Soreng commented:

7/29/17, 12:37 PM - After a few hours oak integrates somewhat and fruit comes together. Lovely purity and juiciness with relatively, for young bordeaux, soft tannin. 86-88

Much less power and potential than the 2012. Heavy tannins, not really a pleasure at this point. Hold, and skipping this vintage advised
  • Soreng commented:

5/15/17, 12:31 PM - Better on second day, but very very young and build to last. Leave it for 5-7 years, longer if you can... 90-93
