It is a big surprise after the previous bottle which was closed. Fruit is mostly gone. Medium to full bodied, tobacco, pencil with a smooth long finish.

Took a while to open up. Medium to full bodied. Sweet fruit, cassis, currant with a long finish. Lack the complexity and smoothness that I was looking for but nevertheless a very good dinner wine.

What a difference a decade has made. Opens up after an hour. The last bottle bought on release. Medium to full bodied, pale yellow, heavy oak, bitter apple pear with a very long finish for about a minute. Completely different from the previous bottle. I really love aged Bordeaux.

Bought on release for about $32. Matured classic Pauillac probably at its peak. Opened at home for beef dinner without decanting. Medium to full bodied, ceder, leather, cherry, bright fruits and plenty of acidity with medium and smooth finish. It will last a few more years but not improve further.

Opened and drank over a few hours. Medium to full bodied, tannic, earthy, tobacco and jammy. It seems like the fruits is hiding behind the alcohol (14%). Medium finish. On day 2, the tannin is softened but there is still no excitement. Will check back in a few years.

Much higher sugar content than I expect from a kabinett. Not much complexity and short on the finish but for $9, it is a high QPR wine. Found my wine opener before realizing I do not need it.

Opened for Easter dinner with cheese and roasted chicken. It takes about an hour to open up. Medium to full bodied. Smooth tannin, sweet fruits with tobacco with a long finish. It is at it's peaks now and it should drink well for the next 5 years. Above expectation for a right bank 03 Bordeaux that was under a lot of heat.

Tasted it repeatedly at the UGC Los Angeles. Jean Laporte told me this is better than the 2009 and I think he is correct. Two hours into the event, the wine opens up with powerful floral and fruit aromas. Structured and very complex with smooth tannin. This beauty will outlive many of us. Stunning.

A pleasant surprise. Opened without decant and drink over a 3 hours period with dinner. Chocolate aromas!!! Integrated tannin with oak and pencil, leather, sweat dark fruits. Full bodied with a long finish. Almost give this away to a friend. Saving the last bottle for a few more years. This is turning me into a Paulliac fan.
