A real treat. More red than black...evolved over an hr...could have been better with a little more air, but so good with steak, it was gone...

Light and easy...cherry red...initial ly could have fooled me for an Oregon Pinot...but warmed up nicely...not particularly complex but pleasant.

From mag...darker in color than I would expect, but now real signs of age or premox. Wine was light and easy on finish.

Either I got a bad batch or this wine is fully over the hill.

Terrific, paired with ribeye. A little air allowed this mid weight bourgogne to develop in the glass. Nice experience.

There are no hard edges on this under rated, very left bank Pauillac. I have a few more and not overly rushed to drink. Don’t think it improves from here, but happy where it is.

Just terrific drinking right now. My only regret is I drank these too early, last one best one!

Great drinking window right now...

Golden color. Rich nose. Fruit is very much secondary, but wine is certainly still intact.

Uncorked for 2hrs but not decanted...tasted blind with group of 8. Initially there was funk on the nose which got better but never became pretty or delicate. Taste had youthful energy w/o any strong tannins. Lots of sentiment that should have been filtered. Overall just ok and certainly not distinguishable as Italian.

Owned this from new issue and have had some up and down thots over the yrs. At 28 it’s really settled in. Great amount of earth has emerged and fruit, while still there is secondary but still sexy, sweet. Held up to a multiple hr decant. Last, best...

Wow! Think ‘04s are green, herbaceous? I did a few yrs back...this wine with about an hour of air is special! Chambolle red, inviting fruit that just kept improving over the next few hrs. So good. Only negative is it’s my last bottle. Last, best 🙏.

A lovely drink. Well kept. Decanted because cork was very dry, but wine was giving early. Not getting better from here. Drink up. Enjoy!

Celebrating Liz bday. Lavender on nose. Didn’t need a decant to open. Lovely and easier to drink than other older Montelenas.

Not exactly in its prime...wine tasted rustic, minimal fruit, more earth...fine with food but not overly interesting at this point.

This wine is really in a nice place, paired with meats or pasta dish enhances overall experience. My feeling with these wines is they really need time to distinguish themselves.

Part of a big burgundy lineup last night. This wine marries a creaminess with a less fruit forward version of many 15s...really enjoyable.

Significantly thinned our my 99s last night. Terrific wine that drank side by side w/Clos des Lambrays...Wow!

An extraordinary experience...Drank along side a 2014 Dauvissat Les Clos...16yrs old and singing...yes it’s expensive (altho not so much back then), but WOW! My last btl...fresh, expressive, WOW!

Tea. Asian spice. Light to medium body. Once warmed to room temp, aromatic. A lovely drink.

Pnp at restaurant. Even in a soft year, NOT what you do with a regal wine...As you may have guessed, last glass best glass...Very pretty at end of bottle. I’d suggest an hr decant with proper stemware. Little mad with myself.

Dark color a fruit on the nose. Not heavyweight fruit coming through quickly out of cold cellar. Warms nicely in glass to be enjoyed with a nice meal or standalone.

This had a bright nose, with a steely mouthfeel complimenting the red fruit. Enjoyable, easy...

This wine at this stage needs a solid 2hr decant before it starts showing some of the complexities of Cotton. A medium strength wine with good structure. I will wait a few years b/f opening the next.

Big cab with lots of stuffing. Lots of life ahead..

I really enjoyed this Morey with a free good friends. Darker fruit with plenty of freshness. Lots of life left.

Interesting, requires a decant which we did not do. I’d say this wine was reserved. However I believe with some coaxing this wine would be more appreciated.

Wine had grip. Dark, big and juicy. Stuffing that makes me believe there is plenty of life and further evolution.

Soft, red cherry, elegant. To me very inconsistent with older posted notes. Paired with rack of lamb, perfect.

1st pass...just received as part of a nice parcel purchase...couldn’t wait to settle...had to give Er a go. Ugh, cork fully bled thru...but wait, nose on initial pour was fresh with honeydew and melon. A little unsettled at 1st but calmed within 15mins. Color was pale yellow and while I suspect acidity may have been higher early in life, the wine is beautiful pleasure, still. Find ‘14 Bourgogne blanc drinking like this now from someone other than Roulot and a few others. Treat for me.

Cough medicine on the nose. Dark fruit. Odd nose seemed to just not blow off, even as it sat decanted for a few hrs...This wine was well stored. Believe the heat of 03 has something to do with outcome here.

Majestic. This wine really young and showing beautiful fruit layers. Not candied, or overly in your face. Gracefully aging with no need to rush to drink, however California wines that drink this well at this age are few and far between imho. Drink with someone special or good friends or just when you need to be reminded how profound domestic wines can be. Bravo!
Red
A little young, still some tartness, but approachable and delicious!

A fine old Barolo that I believe if tasted blind I would have actually guessed correctly...drank well over 2 nights.

I enjoyed this wine. Darker fruits and suppleness I normally don’t associate with Volnay. In a good place now.
