Again, a great bottle. This wine is at peak imo. Spices, dark fruit, smoke, touch of wood, and still powerful but ever so slightly subdued compared to previous bottles. Long lingering aftertaste, very rewarding. The complexity and the interwoven acidity turns drinking this bottle into a real experience. Great pairing with steak.

Nice wine, clearly sangiovese but you can sense the other indigenous varieties "behind the curtain" adding a twist of spices and complexity - and clearly a different profile from the popular formula of sangiovese beefed up with some cabernet and / or merlot. So, very interesting to taste. Solid 90, verging on 91. In the drinking window, but still feels youthfull, so can still go a couple of years

Warm, unbalanced, simply not tasty. Too much bitters and some hard tannins at the back, seems tired - no finish, no depth

Polished, black fruit, vanilla, heavy style, too much actually, a real bomb. Figs, plums, and a lot of heat. Still, drinks smoothly. A travesty of Spanish wine.

Strawberries, cherries, very light and an abundance of fruit. I don't see the appeal here; to me, this is nothing but a grossly overpriced 'vin de soif', with the heat of alcohol becoming painfully apparent when the wine warms up in the glass.

Mind you, it's not bad or faulty, it just totally doesn't justify its rating (not by a long shot)

Volcanic, ashes, mineral, dark fruit, this is a "pitch black wine" that has a lot of depth and has thus more to offer than sheer muscle alone. Nice one.

Orange, glycerine, full in flavor and a lot of wine, but clearly misses structure (due to vintage?)

I don't get all the praise and high scores here. OK, it has a lot more taste than your average rosé quaffer, but flavor intensity alone does not make this a great wine, especially when it is clearly lacking on some fundamental points. Consequently also grossly overpriced

Best rosé in the world? Poor world...

Herbs, flint, slight petrol, round, ripe apple, all hallmarks of a great riesling. Wood is still showing at the moment but it is controlled and not overbearing

I don't get previous notes: fresh, pure, clean... it is not. Vanilla, wood, an embryonic wine, unfortunately a textbook example of oak ridden chardonnay at the moment. Too youg now, but will need a lot of extra time

A bit greasy, clearly chardonnay, some jonagold apples, nicely balanced. After 4 days in the fridge the greasiness disappeared and what remained was: lemon, a lot of finesse and really delicate acidity throughout. Reminds me of top rieslin now because of the acidity and elegance.

Aged and nice evolution, but not over the top. Still freshness present and slight sweet point. Dried red fruit and potpourri. Reminds me of the poggio valente 06 (see my notes of may and march '19 there), which imo found himself at the exact same spot in its evolution. At peak, and I don't think for many years still. Drink now.

A classic vino nobile. Light in color, medium bodied, but typically stuctured and somewhat "austere" in the mouth, but not exaggerated. Some plum, and the typical leather notes and earth and truffle, good acidity - a nice surpise

Interwoven, herbs, balance, acids nicely integrated. A paragone of balance, everything is there and in just the right amount. A classical balancing act done in a way they only do in top bordeaux
