Jancis Robinson note accurate. Has some richness from the wine-making but still the fresh acidity of vinho verde. Nose citrus, honey. Palate relatively rich (for vinho verde), good seam of acidity. Reasonable length. Will be interesting to see how it ages.

Probably infanticide. Lots of oak (both fermented and aged in new Allier oak), plenty of citrus notes and acidity from the Bical grape. Probably best left for another couple of years before trying another one - to allow the oak time to integrate more.

Lemon and wax on the nose. Slightly floral.
Very fresh palate - lots of acidity.
Interesting aftertaste - beeswax?
Bottle 2186 of 2990.
Made with skin contact in stainless steel vats, finished in concrete eggs. Organic wine.
Needs to not be served too cold - no cooler than cellar temperature - otherwise it’s just about the acidity...

Gold. Apricot, caramel and cream. Botrytis to the fore. Vanilla and mace in the background.
Not as past it as the previous notes imply. Nose more intense than palate, but length good for price point. Clearly made with very ripe fruit, not massively complex - would pair well with apricot crumble. Good QPR.

The lighter end of Pinot Noir. Plenty of acidity. Still has life left in it and probably going to improve with time (based on development in glass). Crisp red currant fruit, a little spice from the oak, refreshing acidity. Definitely a food wine. Not bad value.

Ruby with a slightly faded red. Red currant, leather, leaves, (farmyard - but not in a bad way), clove, white pepper. Nose suggests more weight than the palate delivers. Tannins present but balanced with alcohol (15%) and acidity. Wears the high alcohol well.
Don’t have enough Brunello experience to know whether it will gain heft or disjoint with age - will be interesting to see (Bottle 1/12)

A touch of balsamic vinegar about the nose. A food wine with plenty of (dry but not astringent) tannins from both the plavac mali grapes and the wood. This was better than the CT tasting notes had led me to expect. It's its own thing and certainly not a 'fruit bomb' - worked well with roast beef. Continued to develop over a couple of hours - think it has life left in it yet.

Not kept in the best of conditions - in a London flat wine rack for the last 8/9 years so not scored. Under stelvin cap.

Elegant, slightly subdued dark fruits and meat juices on the nose. Smooth palate, tannins more refined as a result of time. Probably if kept better would be a really nice weekday wine at this point.

Beautiful mineral red currant flavoured wine. Very light, only 12%. Complexity on the nose, red currant fruit, vanilla, smoke and leather. Palate really all about the minerality... Gained complexity over a couple of hours of being decanted - suggesting the drinking window needs to be lengthened.

Like slightly underripe macerated strawberries. Low alcohol (9.5%). Crown cap. More than slightly fizzy, slightly cloudy. Interesting and fun.

Excellent Syrah - the tannins have softened greatly, good length, really elegant Cote Rotie. Benefitted massively from time in bottle. Still has another 5-10 years in it.
Decanted an hour before serving, but better still four hours later.

Distinctly orange wine. Unfined and unfiltered. Could be mistaken for still Apple cider. Saline, Apple and Plum notes. Distinct tannins. Reasonable value, has the potential to be a Marmite wine.

Bottle 1,732 of 3,000. Lovely tropical fruit, lees and oak on the nose. Creamy palate with a slightly smokey character. Excellent length. Lovely new world Chardonnay - but not over the top in any respect.

Herb and cardamom nose, blackcurrant. Generous body, smooth tannins, 14% alcohol well integrated. Good length. Maintains your interest - fruit, spice, herbal. Shame I don't have several more.

Deep garnet.
Nose of pepper, damsons, green herbs and smoke.
Medium plus body. Plum and spice, savoury with fine tannins, good length.
Perfect pairing with a joint of roast beef. Plenty of life still left in this -- shame I have no more bottles.

Spicy, peppery, black fruit on the nose - somewhat meaty. Medium length, more red fruits on the palate - continued savory character. Pepper, rosemary and black fruits. Not over-extracted.
Good pairing with both slow-roasted leg of lamb and venison ragout with bacon dumplings.

Opened and poured in wine bar on holiday.
Morello cherry, spice and pepper predominant with herbal and vanilla notes on the nose. Savoury palate, fruit follows, moderate length, reasonably high alcohol. Would age - but not infanticide.
Consumed at Vis-a-Vis wine bar, Vienna, Austria.

Competent modern CdP. Lighter than many, and not overly complex. Well made, but failed to excite in the way some other CdP can.

Initially served slightly too cool - tasted alcoholic and slightly vegetal despite the inviting spicy black and red fruit led nose. With a bit more air and a few degrees extra warmth the wine rounded into a more seamless whole. A very pleasant cabernet - not subtle, fruit-led, but with enough subtlety to be interesting and carries 14.5% alcohol well.

Mid-weight, plenty of autolytic character. Perfumed and gentle - hints of jasmine and honey. Wish I had more. Liked even by the non-champagne drinkers in the party.

Nose of yellow tropical fruits, but quite restrained. Medium bodied and reasonably long, with a real punch of acidity coming through at the end. Maybe not a wine to sit and sip, but came into its own as a wine to drink with food. Enjoyed this time with filet of sea bass with tarragon beurre blanc.

Deep ruby. Plenty of sediment thrown. Cassis and honey on the nose, some prune. Still life in this yet. Decanting required for the volatility to dissipate. Palate more savoury with herbal component. Drinking well.

Interesting nose, develops over time, with some animal and leather behind the fruity bright nose. For basic Burgundy, very approachable, soft and sophisticated. Lots of acidity. Some might not enjoy the slightly "green" acidity at the end.

Glowing golden. Heady perfume of lychee. Honeyed palate, plenty of complexity and a great pairing with the Thai green curry we were eating. Still life in it yet - shame this was the last of my bottles.

Purple. Medium legs though only labelled 12.5%. Nose of Red Currant, Blackberry, Plum, Vanilla, and Oak. Palate of Blackberry, Plum, Prune, Bark, and Vanilla - not overly complex, medium body. The wine has smooth texture, mid length but not great complexity

Mid purple in the glass, nose of black fruits smoke and minerals. Initially appears sweet and fruity - very approachable - but then follows through with more tartness and tanins than might initially be expected. Slightly funky, but in an interesting way. Improves with an hour or two out of the bottle. Good value, even in Japan!
White - Sparkling

Eccentric presentation - string and sealing wax in place of the traditional wire muselet atop a wide squat bottle.
Mid gold in colour with persistent small bubbles.
Restrained nose of classic autolytic character initially, developing more honeyed notes after some time in the glass.
Palate is dry, mid bodied, with much more intensity of biscuit and butter notes (100% chardonnay planted in 1947). Finish is comparatively long with a pronounced honey character.
A hit for Valentines day.

Pleasant but not a great bottle - while very elegant, the tart red currant and green bell pepper characters on the nose and more particularly on the finish make this not as special as you might hope.
After three plus hours decanted slight improvement but still rather dry and green finish.

Decanted an hour and a half before consuming with roast beef dinner.

Clear deep ruby.
Clean, initially quite alcoholic nose, developed into Black and red cherry, violet, slightly candied character, vanilla, cocoa powder
Dry, medium tanins (very smooth and well integrated), Mid+ Alcohol, Mid+ Acidity, Full Body, Mid+ Length, FI+C=N (but deeper and darker - more black fruit / dark chocolate)
Very Good - shame this was my last bottle as would keep many years!
