2011 tasted 11/17
Musty dark nose, lots of oak, some faint green/menthol maybe from the cab franc. Not very attractive overall. Palate is way too much on the oak, it's everywhere, and oddly integrated as the wine has this espresso bitterness to the finish. Decanted 2hr..
Nothing palatable. Day 2 wine still way over oaked, weird tannins, bitter finish.
I really wanted to like this wine, but even the 11 needs way more time. I don't understand this palate, I shared it with some people too they disliked it. 75-80 pt effort.

I'd love to know why I'm wrong. Are people tasting this bitter tannin stuff goin on? Is this intended? Is this meant to age 10 years?

2011 tasted 12/17 Very tannic obviously, very dark and rough. It's not too oaky, even after 2 days it kept a strong tannin structure. No complexity going on, very one note. Where is the real madiran in Florida?

Fun little Brazilian wine on sale. Heard about this region, pretty balanced wine worth its money. Pale orange/rose, faint nose some floral components upon up around 70*F. Very clean but not that interesting. I like value from cava more. Would like to try more Brazilian wines.

Monster cherry bomb here. Sweet tobacco, dark chocolate, but dominant fruit. 12.8% alc, much appreciated!! Very nice mouthfeel and fruit showcase with lower alcohol I thought.

Wasn't that impressed with this. I think I wanted more nuance and complexity from a 100% PV. It was big, dark and full. If you want an inky black fruit bomb it's worth 30, but I'll seek out more floral and soily example though.

Nose is very nice, powerful fresh cherries, leather, cocoa, cinnamon and rose hips. Excellent acid and tannin integration here. Light but active body. Softens with decant but still grippy and juicy. Drinking excellent now, easily cellar 3-7+ more. Very good value 92 pts

First sylvaner, 14 tasted 8/17. Aromatically challenged. Soft notes of stone fruit and minerals, disappointing nose. Very clean palate, good viscousity, balanced acid, lengthy finish. Flavor notes, pear, green apple, white tea, honey, very chalk dusty. Very clean and well done. I prefer more flowers and fruit. But napa sauv blanc peoples, pinot Grigio fans, try a sylvaner! 90pts all day, very wel made wine.

Tasted with Christophe, tremendous wine value. Soft elegant tannins with loads of earthy soily notes. Black fruit is dense. Anise/menthol/animal undertones. Very nice complex Rhone style, must try for Rhone fans at 30$! 91-93 pts.

Tasting 2009 in 7/17. Aromatics were closed, even still after 1-4 hour decant. This wine is not ready at all right now. Needs another 3-10 years. Tannins are fine, soft and well integrated. Rich dark fruit, pepper, slight herbal eucalyptus and dark chocolate. Much more Aussie than French in style. 89-92pts. A lot of flavor and intensity is caged up, hard to score now. Taste 2020+

This wine had 15% alcohol which seemed ridiculous for a French Grenache. Acid balance was a bit off, fruit was tart, needs 3+ years in bottle.

2012 on 7/17 Lots of new oak and black cherry on the nose. Body is light, tannins are soft and acidity is high. Mid palate is smoky, with tart notes of fresh berries, root beer and charred wood. Not as creamy or overripe as American Pinot. Nice style. Would be a stellar pairing with roasted or barbecued pork shoulder. Wine had slight plasticy fishing lure flavor first 15 minutes, freshened up after 30+ minutes. This wine gets better with decant, finish is long and very nice. Sweet tobacco and slatey rock were good notes by other members 90-92pts. This wine is growing on me

First time trying a proper aged Riesling. OMG, that petroleum scent is really true! Some of this vintage is held 10+ years by the winery and re-released recently.
This was a top 2 wine out of 50+ French/German whites tasted on 5/17
No full notes but 93+ pts for my palate. I feel like I just learned a new favorite category :)

Great wine! Grapefruit, nectarine, green apple dominate the nose. Some faint wheatgrass and rocky notes too. Mid palate is clean, I prefer more floral SB's but will give credit still to its cleaner peachy mid palate. Finish is long, lemony, high minerality and bright acidity. Good value at 15 and under though!

Pretty good example of Chilean Carmenere for 15$ really velvety and smooth texture. Noticeable bell pepper and vanilla oak flavors. Really nice wine for steak with chimicurri. Not complex, and a little too much oak for my palate, feels too high in residual sugar. But it's pretty good, my other dinner guests really liked it. 89 pts

Not imported, French back label. This is a top 3 Rose I've tried mostly because of its body and texture. (Had more flavor out of Bandol)Fuller bodied and more viscous, maybe more RS? Softer acidity but very balanced. Fresh notes of strawberry on mid palate and finish. A bit of white peach, honeysuckle and river rock. Really nice bottle and QPR will seek out domaine ott again.91-93 pts

Boring Grenache dominantes, I've had better in the 6-8 $ range. I didn't like the acid integration much, mid-low tannins, basic fruit showing. Was an un-insprired effort, wouldn't recommend at this $15 price range at all. Another Total Wine Winery Direct fail.

2008 past it's prime, weird wine. Super complex nose - glaring alcohol but lots of dried floral components, old spices, fermenting red fruit. Palate is overly acidic, not integrated with high alcohol. Flavors were interesting, kind of tastes like some awkward, off balance cheap Burgundies and Loire Pinot noirs. I wonder what this tasted like 3-4 years ago with all the aromatics on the nose. Drink now with sausages or pork. No score due to possible storage flaws or over aging.

2010 is 60garn25carig15cab. Awesome fruity nose, great Grenache in here. Nose is playing with blue and red berries, with a mildly spicy potpourri. Mid palate is fruity and the acidity pairs perfect with softened tannins. Love the light oak integration here, and high acidity is very much my style. I really like this wine, perfect light oak spice on finish. 2010 drinking excellent now. Would rebuy and I rarely do. 92pts

I see other (Cali Cab) people enjoying this as a novelty, but I didn't like it, way to much oak. I tasted the Cooper and Thief bourbon aged zinfandel at a $30 price point, and it was more balanced than this effort at $15.

Well made wine, 2008 consumed 4/17. Purple-black color. Nose is high on alcohol, moderate plus French oak, black currants, tar, moderate intensity. Fine, well rested tannins yet still persistent. Mid palate is a bit boring with some decent Balck fruit. Finish is very long, less fruit and more focused around oaky spice. Paired with fine tannins, it's very dry, and more of a fatty ribeye type wine. Oak is not as intrusive as Californian style, still a bit much for my liking. Recommended for Cab fans.

Acidity and minerality is a bit awkward, fine tannins, low on fruit. This wine after 24hour open decant got much darker and acids balanced. Too much minerality, which I'm normally very attracted to. This is a good wine for a robust salmon dish, maybe Wellington style or with a pesto cream.

84 after corking, 87 after 8-24hour decant
I've tried this wine before and likened it to an 88-90 pt effort, I thought the fruit was more present, this bottle was not very interesting.

Didn't think a Beaujolais needed 4-6 hour decant to be interesting. Started off with closed aromatics. Flavors weren't pronounced but wine had nice acidity and minerality. After 6 hours the nose has opened up to reveal notes of raw mushroom, rose hips and cassis. Palate is still pretty simple but more floral notes have shown up after the long decant. 86 points, wouldn't recommend this wine unless had time for long decant.

Tons of funk, this wine is bringing lots of cured meaty notes, expired pantry spices, mushrooms and blueberries. It's not delicious, just interesting. Good tannic structure, this wine is worth trying if you like funkier cotes du rhone/ GSM wines. Would pair perfectly with gamey proteins. Prefer darker fruit extraction Spanish monastrells more. Need to try higher end Bandol.

High in acidity, with a dry and earthy finish. A light-medium body, this Classico carries notes of tart cherries, figs, dried tobacco and is quite earthy and vegetative. Would pair perfectly with osso buco or a bolognese.

Super easy drinking, 14.5% alcohol comes in too much tho. After an hour it opened up a lot more and mellowed. This is a 62malbec 26cab 12syrah blend, Syrah is a nice touch. Velvety layered fruit makes this delicious. Cool bottle presentation too. I love this winery! Try their Grand Reserve Malbec, it's special.

Very enjoyable monastrell. Great blackberry depth, but brings the funky complexity that makes this varietal my favorite. Clay, cured meat, dried herbs and it drank well right after opening. I think I liked Tarima Hill old vines at the same price point more, but very happy with this effort.

Intense for a Pinot. Lots of artificial grape/blackberry lollipop kind of flavors. Tasted the 2013 recently too, preferred this vintage/age in bottle a lot more. I still prefer burgundy in style but this was more interesting than some over oaked American pinots. Great acidity, light body. Really well done Argentina!

Clean nose of green apple, lime peel and orange blossoms. Super lean mouthfeel with a razor sharp acidity. Finish is short but quenching. Lime peel and pith bitterness throughout the mouth, bit of a seashell/saline rock component as well. Great QPR at 15$ let alone under 10.

First Chinon, only had American 100% Cab Francs before this. Interesting nose, some grilled meats and tomato or bell pepper maybe? Little shish-kabob action, lightly seasoned with smoked paprika, black pepper. Light bodied, similar to an extracted spicy Oregon Pinot noir. Tannins are light and acidity is juicy. It's not complex, just interesting, really enjoyed this wine and will explore this style/region a lot more. Highly recommend this sub 20$ Chinon to any Pinot fan.

Amazing QPR!!! Great acidity and spice on this wine. Oak is tamed, red and black fruit are fresh. Vegetal and herbal components complement the mid palate. Finish is long, spicy and fresh from adequate acidity. I distribute this wine, so price fluctuates for you but even at 15-20$ it's well worth it.

Deep purple color as expected from a Malbec/Syrah blend. Nose has deep concentrations of black fruit and stewed cherry compote. Very warm on the palate with the 14.5% alcohol. Moderately high acid and chewy tannins. Wine was very tight, needed an hour to open up. Great length on finish.

Loved the 14, trying the 15. Very clean flavors throughout. Lots of acidity and minerality. Pinot Grigio like nose of stone fruit, lemon curd and stone. Not as toasty or creamy as I remember, and a bit sharper on acidity. Still love brut prosecco!

Inky opaque purple color, lots of spices on the nose. Emboldened with overripe blackberry juice flavor, complemented by a tannin structure that pinches the sides of your tongue. Spicy nose transfers to the mid palate and sits at the back on the lengthy finish. Special Malbec, love the production stamp too!

tasted Jan 2017: Concentrated aromas of black raspberry jam, with notes of purple flowers, licorice and black pepper. Palate is dense in jammy black fruits, a high florality and mouth numbing pepper. Tannins are soft and acidity is balanced and moderate. Finish is long and continually floral with violet, rose, pepper and mint. 92 pts
