A kind of middle of the road Chardonnay, neither buttery nor overly oaked. Dry, high acidity, light color and faint nose. Medium bodied, smooth moderate finish. Very good for its price range.

Drinkable, not distinguished. Tastes like dozens of other grocery store Cabs, doesn't stand out in any way.

Did not give this a good review a year ago. But I tried it again, and think I was too harsh. Light nose of dark fruit, more dark fruit on the palate, fair amount of tannin and oak. Rather short finish. Lacks the complexity of a better Cabernet, but easy to drink and not bad at all, especially at around $8 or $9 a bottle.

Well . . . not too impressed. Medium color, cotton candy nose. Very fruity (cherry, black cherry?) with high tannins and moderate acidity. Almost jammy on the palate. There is some bitterness on the finish. You can certainly do better in this price range.

Not bad, really. Faint, but attractive, nose. Rather soft on the palate, with lots of blackberry and dark fruit, fairly tannic, seems to have a bit of oak in the flavor profile. Some spice and earthiness as well. Nice sipping wine. Exceeded my expectations.

Took an hour or two to open up. Faint, but pleasant, nose. Medium golden color. Very high acidity dominates the fruity, oaky body. Nice finish. Food wine, would not drink on its own. Needs something to play against. Very good structure, will last for a while, and may even improve. Nice effort.

Well, it's drinkable, but very ordinary and not memorable. Tastes like a typical $10 Cali Cab, i.e., light, not offensive, just sort of out there. Better wines at this price - but a lot of worse ones as well!

This is very, very good! Dark color, exceptional nose with lots of black currant, oak, cigar box, and blackberry. A little soft on the palate, but lashings of dark fruit, acidity, and mild tannins. Smooth finish. I think this may continue to improve for a couple of years. Really liked this. Would buy again, and highly recommend.

Very dark color. Typical, if rather faint, Bordeaux nose. Surprisingly light on the palate; dark fruit, cigar box, etc., but lots of mineral notes. Not a lot of depth or power, but very balanced, smooth, and elegant. Classy stuff. And built to last,

Medium color. very fragrant nose. Lots of dark fruit and a little oak. Medium-bodied with some dark fruit, and a bit of an earthy character. Moderate finish. This wine is very dry and a bit austere. Probably better with food than on its own. Quite drinkable, if not especially distinguished.

This wine has a very dark color, and an appealing nose. Oak and dark fruit. Surprisingly light bodied, with only moderate depth. But it is well-balanced and elegant. Smooth, long finish. This wine exudes class. You will look long and hard to find a better Bordeaux for under $20. Furthermore, it is still very young and vigorous, and may even show improvement with a few more years of aging. Highly recommend.

This is actually quite good. Lots of black fruit and a little oak on the nose. Fairly soft on the palate. Nice, soft finish. Better than most middle shelf grocery store Cabs. Good value in its class.

Well-made, lovely wine. Dark color and very attractive nose; lots of fruit and a little spice. Rather soft on the palate, but rich mouthfeel with an abundance of dark fruit and some earthy notes. Not a lot of oak. Acidity is adequate, and the finish is very smooth, and lingers a bit. Good depth and fine varietal character. Good value. This is steak wine. Think it will last a few more years.

Excellent. Knock Kendall-Jackson if you will, but they make very good wine at fair prices. This is no exception. Dark color, a bit of oak and berry in the nose. On the palate, there's decent depth and quite a bit of oak; dark fruit and assertive tannins. A bit of heat on the finish, along with more oak. Dry and not too soft. Really, this tastes like more than a $20 wine. Should keep for a while, too.

"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." When I tasted this two years ago, I didn't like it at all. Perhaps I got a bad bottle last time, or maybe the additional time in the bottle has improved it. It has a very oaky nose, and oak is also prominent on the palate. Fairly soft, lots of dark fruit, smooth finish. A little hot on the end. A very nice Cali Cab.

Very dark color; faint nose. Some dark fruit on the palate, little oak. Soft tannins. A bit hot on the finish. Not terrible, but incredibly one-dimensional. There's just not much there. I've tried three vintages of this wine, and did not like any of them. It certainly doesn't command any sort of premium price. The best thing about it is the really cool bottle!

This is really not bad for what it is. Very dark color. Berry dominated nose.
On the palate, it is quite soft, with a lot of dark fruit, and it has a smooth finish. Not very complex, but tasty enough. Just a hint of oak in the background. This is easy drinking stuff, the kind of wine you'd serve at a party. Reasonably good value.

Faint nose; dark color. Very fruity on the palate; also quite oaky. Very soft mouthfeel, and very smooth finish. Considerable depth, but not a lot of complexity, just dark fruit and oak. Not sure that additional age is going to improve this. Very nice wine, but whether it justifies its price level is debatable. Anyway, this is the wine I chose to welcome in 2023!

Excellent. Dark color, berries and and a little spice and cassis on the nose. On the palate there is a bit of oak, more dark fruit, excellent depth and some complexity. Very good balance, with just a bit of acidity and unresolved tannins. Long finish. Dry, and not jammy in the least. Another very good example of a Cali Cab just coming into its own. Will probably improve over the next couple of years; has enough stuffing to cellar for a while. Highly recommend.

This is everything a good Cali Cab should be. I was really surprised at how good it was; usually the wines I receive as Christmas gifts are mediocre at best. But not this one. A whiff of cassis and spice on the nose. Very dark color. On the palate, this wine displays excellent depth and a nice balance of dark fruit, acidity, and earthiness. Finishes smoothly. Quite dry, fairly austere in character. Perfect wine to drink with a juicy steak, but tasty enough to drink on its own. Highly recommend.

Classy stuff. Still very young. Dark color, classic Cab nose with cedar, mint, chocolate and berries. Fairly austere, not a big wine, it relies more on elegance than power. Dark fruit and mineral notes on the palate. Smooth finish. Good varietal character. Believe this will continue to improve for a bit.

Big, serious wine. Very assertive, complex nose, with notes of cherry, wood, herbs, and alcohol. Quite attractive. On the palate, there is a good deal of fruit, mostly red, and a little heat. Can also taste some oak. Smooth, long finish. This wine is very young, and will probably improve with further aging. But it's drinking well already. I was impressed by this.

Surprised by the negative reviews; I thought this was pretty good. Guess it depends on what style of Chardonnay you like! Medium gold color; fairly assertive nose. On the palate, this shows a plethora of various fruit flavors, balanced by an undercurrent of earthiness. Short finish. Good varietal character. Not a world-beater, but a decent everyday wine for sipping, or with food. Although it has adequate acidity, I would have preferred it to be a little dryer and a bit less fruity. Still, not bad overall.

Just fair. Good color, sweetish, flowery nose. On the palate there is a fair amount of fruit, which is dominated by a undertone of mineralty. Moderate finish. This is not my favorite style of Chardonnay; it is off-dry, almost sweetish. More of a sipper than a food wine.

This was better than I thought it would be. It has a very attractive, flowery nose, and good color. It has a fairly high degree of acidity, and is not overly fruity. There is a faint, but pleasant, undertone of minerality. The finish is short, but smooth. There's not a great deal of complexity, but this wine is tasty and easy drinking.

This didn't exactly blow me away. Dark color, whiff of alcohol on the nose. Very dry, with lots of dark fruit on the palate. A little rough around the edges. Lots of earthy notes on the finish. At least it isn't bubble gum. Actually quite austere. The various elements don't really come together well. It may or may not improve with further aging; certainly has enough stuffing to last.
