Last bottle of the night. Considering the selection this turned out to be the best. Bountiful bouquets on the nose, medium to long finish, well balanced and full of elegance.

Allow to breathe for 30mins in the bottle. Before this too dry on the first mouthful. Then it opens up with mild fruit and sweetness and increasingly balanced on the palate wiry medium and slight elegant finish.

Good wine, reminds me of CDP

More maturity from 2014 compared to earlier 2019; younger vintage has good potential. compared with true right bank this is more dry perhaps reflecting it a left bank roots.

To compare with same vintage 2012 Leoville Barton.

Colour a little more brown than anticipated..nose is muted. First sip was under-whelming with a sour finish, perhaps on its last legs? Improved with decanting in the glass. Still easy to drink but not the best Rauzan Segla I’ve had. Comparatively the Leoville Barton held its structure better with the fruit balanced through the experience.

3rd Sep 2022 - decanted 20 mins - we had this right after it’s decade younger sibling. The giddy exuberance of youth made way for a more fortified and forceful embodiment. The fruitiness of youth is translated into a powerful wine that is more elegant and enjoyable with medium to full finish..always interesting to have a vertical tasting to (potentially) foresee the future…

Nose was full of fruit, colour vibrant reflecting its youth…it’s fruity mouthful a great pleasure to the senses. Though youthful, it is working quickly towards a balanced version of it’s older sibling…tye finish is elegant and medium…

Margaux wines tend to be bolder, beefier like Alter ego. This seems more like a right bank wine. Easy to drink certainly, very balanced but lacks depth perhaps due to its relative youth..

Has good potential to evoke to a much more balanced wine in years to come.

Wine colour is strong and vibrant, good fruity nose and mildly muscular..however, for a 6 year old wine, drinking very well…may be sweet for some but am pleased with the medium body and finish. Looking forward to enjoying the remaining in the next few years…

Decanted 30mins alongside a 1998 Mouton. Blind taste for the boys to decide which they prefer.

The intensity of the colour is still maintained, vibrant for a 23 yr old wine. The nose still has hints of berries and fruity. This translated to a pinch of sweetness in the mouth. Overall typical of the big fruit Aussie wines but has mellowed to to a level that is more balanced and less over powering than in its youth leading to a medium bodied finish.

Last bottle but maintained so much better than the previous bottle I had in 2019.
