Short decant. Black fruits, smoke, briars and spice. Savory and balanced. Grainy tannins. Medium length earthy finish. More open with air. Needs more time or longer decant.

Disappointing based on my experience with several other vintages of this typically fine wine. Needs plenty of air. Barely drinkable by itself but better with pasta/Italian sausage dish second day. Seems to be past prime with little fruit. Color is good. An off-putting minerality note is present and the balance is off (high acidity). Integrated tannins and a short finish. Perhaps I just have a bad bottle, though stored properly.

Pnp. Compelling nose of black fruits, violets that never stops. Palate of black fruits, ground black pepper, mocha and other indescribable dark delights. Complex, seamless and smooth. Layers just keep building with time in glass. Beautifully balanced with integrated tannins and a long, long finish.

Garnet/purple. Nose of violets. Blackcurrant, plum and vanilla. Medium/full bodied, smooth with good balance. Not as rich and full as Juliet and others in the Beau Vigne lineup. Firm tannins and a medium length finish. Decent QPR @ $39 LB.

Bumping this up a point since my last review over two years ago. Rich, smooth and delicious. Everything in balance. Short decant. Excellent pairing with rib-eye. Holding last bottle in hopes of diminished fruit, tertiary notes in 6-10 years.

Pnp. Muted nose, though opened at cellar temps. Blue and black fruits, plum, smoke, chocolate notes. Full bodied, balanced and smooth with grippy tannins and a medium length finish. Improved with ox and gradual warming. Good value right bank Bordeaux hitting its prime. Would have paired better with steak vs. crab/pasta dish we consumed with it.

Wow, one of the best wines I've sampled from Renaissance. As common, this has plenty of sediment and a crumbing cork (use Ah-so). Two hour decant. Subdued violet nose. Secondary red fruits, dried cherry, plum, leather. Medium body and smooth. Balanced with good acidity. Fine grained tannins, long finish. In a nice place with years yet ahead. Pleasure to drink. Glad I have more.

Short decant. Purple with muted floral nose. Blue and black fruits, plum and graphite. Full bodied, dense and balanced. Fragrance increased, acidity and most tannins blew off with time in the glass. Kept getting better throughout the dinner/evening (paired with a t-bone). I'll probably wait a couple years on the last bottle.

Inky dark purple. Violet nose. Black fruits, graphite, tobacco. Full bodied and balanced, though acidity/alcohol/tannins are elevated at this young age. Long finish. This is a well made Cab but too young for consumption without an extended decant. Paired with a porterhouse steak. My one hour decant not nearly long enough. Second day much better. I'm holding remaining bottles for seven plus years.
