This wine is drinking very well right now but has a lot of time left. When tasted before decanting the wine was actually youthful with fine sharp tannins, the palate being dominated by oak and vanilla and bit disjointed. The nose was pleasant but modest. After 2 hours in the decanter it became very lush and balanced with a long smooth finish (one of the characteristics I love about Pahlmeyer) with lots of dark fruit. Really enjoyable, I am glad we still have a couple more.

Drank from Magnum, purchased direct from the winery and stored under perfect conditions. I agree with rdfech. This wine is past it's prime. Pleasant but not much body or fruit.

This wine is going through an awkward period now. A bit disjointed but stiil has all of the parts required. I won't touch another bottle for a couple years

Light bodied, uninspiring nose with a tart finish. Not what I expected from this wine, especially given it's pedigree and price. Tasted this two years ago with similar notes.

This wine was obviously past it's prime. The wine is amber to purple with a medium body, much lighter body then I expected. The nose was pleasant with tar, vanilla and minerals. In the mouth it was weak with little flavor on the mid palate, dark red fruits and fairly strong minerality with a small amount of soft tannins. The wine is somewhat disjointed and lacks balance. I should have drunk this bottle 3 years ago.

Kerosene on the nose. No fruit, some minerality. Dumped it!

Still has good fruit, tobacco and mocha notes. Still a very good bottle of wine, especially for the year.
