$3.99 at the 99 Cent store!

Medium copper color. Aromas of citrus, cherries, and stone fruits. The dry palate features flavors of strawberries, peaches, grapefruit, and cherries. Quite drinkable, especially on a hot day. Would definitely but again at this price!

$3 via Ralph's Clearance.

Hazy medium purple fading to magenta at the rim. Vanilla, dark cherry, and plum aromas on the nose. The palate features notes of pepper, spice, boysenberry, blackberry, black plum, dark cherry, and vanilla. The wine is dry and full bodied. Tastes almost as cheap as it cost. Dark chocolates helped make this wine more palatable. Will not buy again.

Medium copper color, a shade deeper than your typical Provence-styled rosé. Aromas of strawberry and peach. Citrus, strawberries and red berries on the palate. Wine is dry and supported by medium acidity. Alcohol is medium. Decent value rose. but there are better options at the $10-$15 price point.

$8.99 at K&L.

Interesting field blend from the Southwest of France. Dry, earthy, and tannic, with restrained red fruit notes on the palate. Kind of flat, with not a lot going on. Glad I tried it for cheap. Will not buy again.

Turbid deep purple. Opaque and inky. Notes of vanilla, spice, blackberry, dark cherry, and black plum. This wine is full bodied, smooth, and velvety on the palate. Tannins are low, alcohol medium, acidity medium. Good inexpensive pairing for assorted dark chocolates.

Typical RRV dark red fruit notes dominate this dry pinot. Cherry, strawberry, pomegranate, earth, baking spice, oak and even pepper! Yes, there is PEPPER in this pinot!

Low tannins, medium acid, and medium alcohol. A decent quaffer that will do in a pinch, but not one that I would look for again.

$6 at Trader Joe's.
Notes of green apples, grass, pear and grapefruit. A slight effervescence pops on the palate. Brazen acidity and medium alcohol. The dry finish is medium in length. Good for $6, but nothing special here.

Medium yellow in the glass, with aromas of grass and lime zest. Pear, lemon-lime, and minerals show on the lively palate. Alcohol is medium, acid is medium+. The wine is medium bodied and dry, with a a medium finish. Good match for seafood and very drinkable on its own, but would not buy again.

Clear Pale Ruby wine with aromas of perfumed red fruits and vanilla. The flat palate is earthy, with restrained fruit notes of plum and dark cherry. This cool climate pinot is balanced, and although it did improve with air time, it ultimately disappointed. Paid $17, drinks like $10. Will not buy again.

Medium yellow, with green apples, flint, and citrus aromas. The lively palate shows grapefruit, lemon, lime, green apple, fresh cut grass, and minerals. Alcohol is medium, acidity medium+.

Light to medium bodied and refreshing, this perky Sauv Blanc is perfect for a sunny day in LA. Paired well with shrimp skewers. Great QPR for $10 at Ralph's.

Pale ruby with lush red cherries on the nose. On the palate, red fruits like cherries, raspberries, and strawberries dominate. The wine is dry, yet smooth. Tannins are low-medium, acid low, alcohol medium. Finish is short, but sweet. Very easy to drink and pair with a wide range of foods. Simply a delicious wine that I will purchase again and again.

Bought at the tasting room in 2017 for $50. Now, only 2 years later, it has turned to vinegar, just like the other bottle I bought that day. Combined, that makes $100 down the drain. I will never buy another Tolo wine again. Ever.

Still very young. Recommend 1 hour decant.

Tight upon opening, but gradually reveals itself after an hour decant. Luscious dark strawberry and black raspberry notes, accompanied by light baking spices and potting soil. The wine is rich and smooth. Balanced and accomplished winemaking skills on display here. Drink 2021-2024

Bold and intriguing, this wine is round and dry, with medium+ tannins, medium acidity, and medium alcohol. Paired well with ribeye steak.

Medium gold color. Lemon, butter, and white flowers on the nose. The wine is medium bodied and dry. Citrus, banana, and buttercream on the palate. The medium finish features a slightly bitter note which I do not care for. Not at all what I expect from a Viognier, therefore, I will not purchase this wine again.

The last of 6 bottles I purchased from Last Bottle in 2016. The first 5 were easily 90 point bottles, but this one checks in at 87.

Opaque purple color. Pepper, plum, and blackberries on the nose. More spices and blackberries on the palate, along with notes of chocolate, boysenberry and oak. This easy-drinking wine is dry, juicy, and medium bodied. Tannins are medium, alcohol medium, and the acidity is medium plus.

As noted above, this wine has begun to fade, so if you have any left, drink it asap.

Lush aromas of red and purple flowers, dark fruits, vanilla, and delicate spices. Blackberry, black currants, plums, raspberries, tobacco, and oak on the palate. Dry, smooth, and balanced. I have long been a fan of Luigi Bosca, but this one was just ok. At $18, it's a decent value, but I'd rather try something else next time.

Pale ruby color with lush fruit aromas. On the palate, the wine is quite Burgundian in style yet slightly heavier on the fruit. Juicy flavors of strawberry, dark cherry, cranberry, and plum are augmented by additional notes of earth, red roses, and delicate spices. The wine is dry, bodied, and perfectly balanced. Paired well with duck breast in cherry sauce.

The medium purple color, along with all the dark fruit and pepper notes, would indicate a Syrah-heavy blend, which is odd for a CdR. Additional notes of violet, raspberry, oak, cherry, and vanilla complete the profile. The result is a dry, decently balanced, mid-week drinker for a low price. Good value here.

Pale Ruby color. Aromas of cherry, funk, and berry bramble. But then the flaws really start to show...

The disappointing palate is thin, tart and tannic. Add Volatile Acidity to that, and you've got a "wtf?" expression on your face. I won't finish one glass of this turpentine swill. Life is just too short to suffer a bad wine.
