(Notes from memory a few dates later.) I would say this wine is still a few years from its peak, so i don't really agree with the 2015-2022 drinking window average. A bit mute on the nose even after 2-3 hours of air. Dark fruits and a hint of chocolate, but not a lot of tertiary aromas to speak of. Good tannins and acidity.

This has entered its drinking window now. Complex and quite intense on the nose with dark berries and earthy notes. Long and complex on the medium bodied palate. Very good acidity, fairly long with a bit of a tannic punch at the end.

What a great rosé! Toast, gunpowder and red berries. Really elegant on the palate, drier than the brut reserve, very balanced and complex. Still young but drinking very nicely so don't be afraid to pop these now (especially if you have more in your cellar maturing).

This is entering its drinking window. Medium to full bodied with a nice nose with some dark red berries and pencil. A hint of dark chocolate as well. Good balance on the rather long palate, but with slight dominance of tannins. Good acidity.

Wow, this is outstanding! Although there are some tertiary aromas with sweet liquorice and leather, the overall impression is very fresh with some flowers and a hint of menthol. Similar notes on the palate, along with a good acidity and smooth but firm tannins. Long, complex and very drinkable. Do I have to say this was a great match with osso bucco and forest mushroom risotto?

(Mis en crayeres 2017, disgorged 2020). This is such a great NV champagne! Complex nose with toast, nuts, ripe fruits and a hint of spices. Good acidity, long and intense on the palate. Fruity! The style is quite easy drinking as the dosage does not seem to be quite as low as my usual preference. It really is not easy to find better value in this price range, except directly from small independent growers in Champagne.

Really nice fruity and floral nose with some spices. Continues with the same theme on the palate. Good acidity and tannins. This has many of the same traits as Chateauneuf-du-pape, but with added freshness and juiciness. I like it a lot! Still young, good now but with potential to improve.

I really like the 2010 vintage of this wine, which is more balanced and has a lot more freshness than 2007 and 2009. Really powerful and long, however, with crunchy, dark fruit and nice tannins. Will keep and improve for years.

No formal notes taken, but this is still quite young and will benefit from further cellaring. Decanted for 1h. A bit closed at first, very high tannins and acidity. Opened up after an additional 2h in the glass with quite a complex nose and a long, firm palate.

Not much development since my last bottle 18 months ago. Smokey, full bodied and intense. Not as fruity as when younger. Unfortunately some alcohol pushing through. I think I will try to save my two last remaining bottles for a few more years to see where this is going.

This is quite an impressive wine. Big and complex nose with dark fruits and some spicy, chocolaty notes. Massive on the palate but with a good acidity and firm tannins that keeps it quite balanced. Suprisingly young, actually, and i think there is still some potential for improvement.

Big nose with licorice, kirsh and a bit of forest undergrowth. Full bodied, tannic and with a nice balancing acidity but a bit too much alcohol pushing through. Long. It has improved from my previous notes in 2017, but in my opinion it needs more time. Sadly, this was my last bottle, so i will not be able to see its full potential. This is an impressive wine of excellent quality, but a bit over the top for my preferences.

Great and elegant nose with flowers, perfume and a hint of leather. Very high acidity and firm tannins. Medium bodied and quite long. Superb with mushroom risotto but the high acidity made it slightly less enjoyable after dinner on its own (and i do like a high acidity).

Quite mature already with lots of bruised apples. However, there is still quite a bit of energy left, boosted by the high acidity and long aftertaste. Complex and very enjoyable. This was my only bottle but I think i popped it quite close to its peak.

Similar to my previous bottle drunk in March this year. Excellent wine and starting to mature but will keep for years to come. Really complex, long and intense on the palate. High acidity as always but perhaps a bit less noticeable than a few years ago as it has integrated nicely and now contributes to the really pleasing and full mouthfeel of the wine. Sadly i only have one bottle of this left....should have bought two cases back in the day...or three.

The nose is fantastic with loads of pencil shavings and nice tertiary aromas with ripe fruit.

On the palate there are nice, firm tannins, red berries and some graphite. Not a lot of depth, however, somewhat light but has a nice, long aftertaste.

I bought this bottle ten years ago on the very day me and my wife found out she was carrying our first child. Now drank it to celebrate my birthday. Went very well with the food (mushroom risotto and barbecued flank steak).

Still young and quite acidic. I should have read my previous tasting note from almost exactly one year ago before popping this bottle. Not much has happened in a year but I still think there is potential for significant improvement. Nevertheless a great nose with blackberries and some spices. Lots of dark fruit on the palate, but the acidity dominates. Quite tannic.

Well worth the wait. Drinking beautifully now but could actually improve with more age. Although this is a very powerful Amarone, it is quite balanced due to the high acidity and firm tannins. Complex, long, red cherries, chocolate and a hint of sweat!

In general i don't really like rosé wines but I just love this one! Then again it is almost closer to a light red natural wine than a rosé. Quite funky and barnyardy on the nose at first but most of it blew off in a couple of hours. Loads of strawberries on the palate, nice acidity. Great!

Drank a few weeks ago and did not take notes, so no proper tasting note here, but suffice to say that this has developed very nicely and is now much more balanced than in some years ago. Powerful and full bodied for sure, but surprisingly elegant with a nice acidity giving freshness to the wine. Great!

The cork broke in half and what was left in the bottle crumbled into small pieces when i tried to get it out. Not a good sign, but as soon as i started decanting the wine through a sieve the great floral perfume on the nose proved that the wine is in top condition. Medium bodied, very elegant with a nicely balanced acidity. This is all about balance and restrained style, rather than power or oomph.

Excellent wine! I have followed this wine for about 8 years, drinking about one bottle per year and now it is clearly starting to mature a bit. Will still keep for years, however. Really complex and intense on the palate, with the high acidity giving it a very fresh expression (although there are some ripe fruit and other tertiary aromas as well). Very long aftertaste with lemon, stones and a hint of salt.

Two years since the previous bottle and now I am beginning to see some development. Still big and bold but a bit more balanced and less “in your face”. The fruit is settling down a bit and it shows quite a lot of spicy, chocolatey notes. I think there is still room for improvement with time.

Quite a traditional Bordeaux with led pencil dominating the nose. Not a lot of fruit. Medium bodied and elegant on the palate, with a nice tannic grip. Could use a bit more complexity and depth, perhaps. Don't know if it will improve over time, but on the other hand i would say this will at least keep for years to come before going downhill. Overall a very enjoyable wine, but probably not if you are more into new world fruit bombs.

During the first hour this was rather closed. A bit flat as well. With air, it opened up nicely with a complex nose with ripe grapefruit, gunpowder and some yeast. Same elements on the palate as well, good acidity with a citrus cest feel. Fairly light and elegant. I would say that this is at or slightly past its peak. (Bottle has been stored in a 12 degree cellar for over a decade before popping today at my 40th birthday).

A very interesting nose with some animal notes, red berries and a whiff of chlorine (but not in a bad way, although it sounds strange). Crunchy, juicy, acidic and a bit tannic on the palate, making it a really fun wine to drink if you are in to slightly unusual wines. My wife hated it but i really liked it!

I bought this bottle in Lisbon for 15€ ten years ago. Talk about money well spent! Tight tannins and very high acidity, but really complex and elegant. Glue, red berries and a hint of leather on the nose. Bright red berries, a bit of vegetables and some tobacco on the palate. Light and fresh despite its complexity. Reminds me of a good barbaresco. Has the structure to age much longer and probably improve.

It seems that 7 years have passed since my previous bottle of this. At that time I thought the wine was too young but with lots of potential, and actually I think it still needs a few more years. This is a rustic and powerful wine with high tannins. Licorice on the palate (slightly bitter), dark restrained fruits/berries and some herbs. Herbs and meat on the nose, and a whiff of alcohol pushing through. Really good, especially with food, but I think it will become even better with time.
