Unfortunately this was the worst of our 3-bottle 2021 ~$30-ish Willamette PN tasting, behind the entry level bottles from Amity Vineyards and Division (and this was also just barely the most pricey.) Simply put, this was wildly reductive, with hardly anything but rubbery, sulfuric burnt matchstick aromas on the nose. In the VERY far background I could sense some really pure dark black cherry or something, but nothing blew the reductive tones away- not decanting, not shaking, not even the penny trick. I really don't think those harsh tones were from stem inclusion- not only am I pretty sure they de-stem their fruit, but even the roughest whole-cluster wines still let in much more fruit than this.

This doesn't seem to be noted by other commenters here, so it's possible I got a bad bottle somehow, or that I'm just really sensitive to it at times. But yeah- although I really enjoyed the little fruit I actually got, and I could sense the elegant structure, it was pretty harsh. Will definitely try another wine of theirs- could just be a fluke.

This has benefited from an extra year in the bottle, becoming more refined and losing some weight. It is thoroughly enjoyable, but this bottle was oddly lacking in pinot character. Tasted blind, I would have guessed zinfandel, with its profile of ripe cherries, dried orange peel, cranberry and earth. This was our last bottle, but there is no rush to drink as it still has the stuffing and adequate acid to age nicely for a couple/few years.

- Garnet color and aromas of blackberry and black currant. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of oak, smokey and mushroom with a light/medium body. Narrow texture with a short finish - Woody, earthy, limited complexity, black fruits, proper acid balance is best thing going for this wine.

Decanted this for about 3+ hours. Nicely made, honest wine. Pretty nose, with some fullness but a bit reticent. Good balance of fruit and complexity to start, we were looking forward to spending a long evening with this wine. Unexpectedly, the wine did not get better as we went but lost it’s nose and fruit and became somewhat thin and astringent. Past it’s prime ? Will pop n pour the next bottle.
