Lots of minerality and fairly good concentration and lingering finish but seems a bit green, linear and shallow. Good aromas of honeysuckle and lemon on the nose. You have to pay close attention to what is going as it would be easy to miss it.

Immediately after decanting- Burgundian, sophisticated nose albeit not strong, tongue is savory, good fruit and acid but disparate. Try next bottle in 3-4 years. Could be much more, IMHO.

Nice wine, full fruit but one dimensional (not unusual for domestic wines). Will keep last bottle for a few years to see what happens, good fruit/acidity balance but tannins are minimal. IMHO you can get much better wine at half the price from France. I guess we’ll catch up to them someday.

What is a point worth? This wine is very good, delivers far beyond it QPR, and has a long life ahead. Has typical Brunello characteristics, maybe a bit more generalized and ripe than some thoroughbreds, but so wonderful, leaving one in that satisfied state when you’ve had a great bottle with good food and wonderful company. Would buy this again and again.

At first taste (of this of 8 previous over many years) is that it is too ripe, too pruny, but enjoyable in the tiniest possible sips. Then it grows on you (again). Great bottle, enjoyed by everyone. The ripeness fades into the background and a wine with good structure and balance stand forth. How could I doubt it?

Not my cup of tea. Over-extracted fruit bomb, a jammy assault on the palate, flavors off putting

Well made, interesting fruit presence ( don’t want to use the term ‘ fruitiness’) with good balance of acidity and tannins, good complexity

This bottle is drinking absolutely beautiful! Opened, decanted and drank over a very good lunch at Serafina in Seattle. Opened a bit woody, but in short order it broadened and showing delightful, intriguing mid and delicate flavors dancing over my tongue. One bottle lasted a long, long time. Wonderful!

Surprisingly good, considering how many other reviews panned this wine. Yes, it is showing some age, it is getting a bit darker, and it is probably on the decline, but there is a wonderful concentration of chardonnay flavors, almost want to say like white flowers balanced by minerality, but it is not floral but is concentrated. Nice bottle to savor with food.

Beautiful wine, amazing complex floral nose, layers of flavor, long, long finish. Elegant, not overripe or jammy. Nothing not to like, has to be one of the world's best wines.

- Garnet color and aromas of blackberry and black currant. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of oak, smokey and mushroom with a light/medium body. Narrow texture with a short finish - Woody, earthy, limited complexity, black fruits, proper acid balance is best thing going for this wine.

Wonderful " luxury cuvée". Full, rounded, well balanced, interesting complexity, not austere, does not taste manufactured, wonderful long finish with no negatives, I.e. Left over acidity. Just a bottle of goodness.

Had
My last bottle of DD's 2007 Silex at a wonderful dinner out with friends who had never even heard of him. Made the mistake of saving it for a "Special Occasion". Was over the hill by probably 3 years. Oxidization was evident. Hope you haven't keep yours beyond 5 years,

- Ruby color. It's in total harmony with a medium/full body. Round texture with a long finish - Very Nice right now! great balance, better than most other 2007 CdPs I've had.The striking thing is that the flavor profile is so good, and the acids are perfect- they are so perfectly in harmony, tthey just poke up above just so slightly to add a highlight to each sip. The minerality gives a base, the experience is that the winemaker really knows what he is doing.

Dark Crimson- purple color, pervasive nose of dark fruits, some flowery notes, broad on the palate hitting all areas, mid and sides in particular proceeding to a long, lingering finish. Polished, delicate and of substance, smooth, balanced. Drinking wonderfully now.

Some wine had seeped out of the cork~ the top was red. The wine was simple, dumb and boring. The finish did last for a while. Did decant twice, it may have opened up in a few hours but we did not give this bottle a chance. Was a decent wine, just not what it was supposed to be by reputation nor price.

- Crimsom color with a medium/full body with a long finish - Deep crimson color with substantial bricking showing. Substantial fruit core, acids and minerality not as evident. Not surprising considering this a a warm, Parker, vintage. Warm, rich and smooth, this wine is probably at its peak. Definitely not balanced as needed for a long life. Decanted and drank over two hours, took all of two hours to fully open.

- Crimsom color - Well balanced syrah, with good fruit core. Finely layered, deep complexity without the typical fleshy or peppery flavors that a lot of Syrahs have. Is youthful and restrained, this wine seems to have a lot of life left, will be interesting to see how it is in a few years. An excellent wine.

- Purple color - raisiny, dull overall, has subdued multi-layer complexity with a corresponding long finish but this is the best that can be said. If the wineries price indicates their aspirations then this has to be labeled as a failed effort.

This wine did not impress, perhaps it is in a dumb stage, but the last bottle of Phelps I had was similar. A reticent wine, does not willing share its bounty, one gets the hint that something very good is afoot, but the wine never delivers on the promise.

This was a seriously good wine, delivers in every way. Complexity beyond belief for a 100% Syrah, depth, solid fruit, with liveliness and gravity. Not a showy wine, doesn't need to be. Just a sip delivers to all areas of the palate and the finish just keeps resonating for a minute or two. Went very well with Northern Italian cuisine.

Very earthy, dull, mini-dimensional. Previous bottles that I had a few years ago were thin, narrow and simple. Another example of an hyped wine from G from a producer that needs JRs help to make it. A ripoff, in other words.

Deep ruby, soft floral notes with ripe fruit on the nose, rich smooth tannins with a hint of balsamic. Lingering finish with a juicy fruit core. Much better than last bottle I opened a few years ago. Definitely worth the tariff, don't know why anyone would expect this to blow their socks off. Good juice.

Deep garnet, bricking observable during decant. Woody, barrel smell (not fresh oak, maybe used?), blending into unique earthy fruit aroma (not familiar with this grape). First sips were like the nose and a little bit astringent even though the wine had good body. However, when paired with lasagna it became apparent that this is a wine meant to be paired with food, and not so bad! The centered earthiness cut thru and offset nicely the food flavors.

Well made Cab Franc, a bit lacking on the bramble fruits that Cab Francs can have (and that I like). Earthy, dried fruit but not well resolved, i.e. somewhat rough, especially when compared to a CdP we drank prior (and cost only 1/2 as much). Should only cost 1/2 of what I paid. As this has 9 yrs on it, will have to check to see if worth holding for a few more years.

Wanted a CDP for dinner, this was the only one I had at hand so I only had time to do a full decant and let sit for ~20 minutes. Was very enjoyable, cerebral in that it combined light, delicate black raspberry-cherry notes and floral notes with a smoothness that underlied the full bodied fruit on the palatte. The last bottle I had was 2.5 yrs ago, the tannins are now fully resolved. What a bargain (low $30's)!

Color is red plum at the edges quickly transistioning to deep plum, this wine appears to be unfiltered. The nose is pretty reticent, bottle was opened, then stoppered last night, but has notes of black fruit and brambles, nothing off putting. On the palate this is a simple but somewhat large, straight forward wine, with good balance between fruit and acidity. There are lots of wines of winds in this price range that are more complex and are also well made.

- Crimsom color with medium forming legs and aromas of tobacco, licorice anise and rose. It's balanced and has flavours of tobacco, prune, fig and mushroom with a medium/full body. Satin-Like texture with a long finish - Very good, but most likely over the hill, unless this was a flawed bottle. Fruit was muted and somewhat dry, though still with full mouth feel, with flavors of saddle leather and dried flowers.
