Another wine where the price leads consumers to downgrade its rating, and shrink their appreciation for its quality. This is a $13 bottle of wine that outperforms many wines at 3x its price. Rich, blackberry liqueur and pastille aromas rise from the glass. This is sappy, with fresh baked pie fruits (no aggressive spice). The structural profile is dense as this Cote Du Rhone is made from 100% syrah; but it still has the impression of Southern Rhone heat. Balanced, with soft tannins and fresh acidity. Buy a case of every new vintage (we're talking $150 here) and thank me later. Decant for 45 min on opening.

7/8/21, 5:08 PM - I agree. Quite good syrah for a very reasonable price - even if you pay $18. IMHO one important factor is that this is 100% syrah. This is unusual for Côtes du Rhône - read the labels. The label of this wine does not mention the varietal; I looked it up at the vintner's website.

Very nice indeed! Third bottle I've opened in the last 6 months. All have been wonderful - if anything, improving. Pretty cherry mouth feel and texture, excellent balance. A treat even right after opening. The 7 years since vintage have paid off - perfectly ripe for enjoying now. Excellent balance: just enough acid, strong fruit, tamed tannins. Slight sense of hot alcohol at 14.2%, not a problem. One of those rare wines where I wish I had bought even more - but how can you know? The 2017 is readily available now, haven't tried it.

Smooth ZIn with great dark red fruit flavors and a bright finish

9/25/20, 3:51 PM - The score of 62 must be a mistake, since you liked it. Did you mean 92? Please correct the score. It messes up the average score on Cellar Tracker. Thanks!

Pronounced fungal nosebupon opening which never resolved upon breathing or in glass. Could not get beyond it. Hope the rest of my bottles are more consistent with on line tasting notes.
