Not great. Not bad. Seemed closed. Cherry developed on the second day. The nose shined more than the palate.

I see notes that’s it’s past peak. There’s still good tannin structure. I’m not sure the flavors will change much as the turtiary flavors are taking over with some strawberry and raspberry still there. Lovely after 3 days.

I have to say this right away…this reminds me of a citrus forward sour beer, in a good way. The nose is like ripe grapefruit rind freshly squeezed into the air. Acidity is sharp, but not overbearing. That rind quality comes back in the palate with a bit of lemon and orange in there, like a group dance. I can see it developing nicely.

Dark and thick. Age has done wonders for this wine. Over extracted years ago and mostly mellowed now with good fruit and some earth showing over time. Nose of dry dirt, black raspberry, blackberry, red currant, cherry, rainbow peppercorn. Good acidity with mellow tannins, oily, a bit tart on the tip of the tongue. On the palate more earth, a touch of mushroom, more black raspberry, very similar to the nose with maybe a touch of dark chocolate.

Age has done this beauty well. There a good amount of sediment, so decant. Nose has a dusting of earth, sweet potpourri, red cherries, mushroom. So lush on the palate, a bit of tannin holding on with good acidity. Similar with more ripe red cherry and lavender. I’m impressed.

Lemon, honey comb, marzipan, good acidity, oily, a bit creamy, tasty. I’d drink now. Why wait?

Flowers, potpourri, lavender, lilacs, and raspberry. There’s still a tannic structure just not letting go and lots of acidity. I’m not so sure the flavor profile will change much. A bit of earth and mushroom come through with red fruit and similar flowers. It’s good. It’s ready.

This stuff is fantastic. I wish I bought a whole case. The color is honey. It smells like honey suckle and ripe apricot. The acidity causes my entire mouth to salivate and crave more. The palate is pure delight, also honey suckle, apricot, minerals, and a hint of ripe cantaloupe.

This needs time. Plenty of time. I decanted 3 hours, then drank it over days and still quite tannic and lots of acidity. Closed at first, but the nose is opening with inky ripe blackberry, black currants, little bit of vanilla, and a touch of menthol. The palate is more tart currant and blackberry pits with menthol and tree bark. For the price I’d buy a few, start drinking in 3-5 years+, then have each year thereafter.

Mahogany in color. Almost blood orange at the edges. Translucent. A bit balsamic, sweet and aged, umami, fresh picked crimini mushrooms, most of the fruit is gone. Tannins are still holding on and acidity quite present. The aged balsamic hits immediately and never really fully fades. Finish is medium in length. This is good stuff.

Consistently good, holding up well with time in the bottle, and still has time to develop more, but very quaffable now if you still want good fruit. The nose has some umami, damp wood, wet leaves from morning dew, and white pepper. The palate oozes with raspberries, raspberry seeds and tart pomegranate. Tannins are almost gone, but acidity is still present. Good stuff. Holds up after 3 days.

You can tell this is made by a Cali Cab producer. This is thick and the nose dark and brooding: dark fruit, big hit of white pepper. Even after 2 days and a few hours in an open bottle the tannins are grippy and acidity sharp. Palate isn’t much different with dark red fruit and loads of white pepper, some tartness, raspberry seeds. This needs plenty of time and may reward. Not worth the weight.

Day 1 was tannic and needed time. 2 days later the fruit is more present with some earth undertones. Fruit leather, strawberry preserves, allspice, dry dirt and some fresh cracked black pepper. Still tannic and can still use time. Tons of potential here.

Nose has bee pollen, yellow apple, pear, white flower (delicate), maybe a touch of cantaloupe. Strong acidity and kind of tart at first. Medium in body, creamy mouth feel. Nose carries through to the palate, more pear, no flower. I feel this needs more time to develop, or not.

Opened and let sit for 3 days. Immediately on the nose theirs cinnamon, clove, tree bark, lavender, red fruit (raspberries), and rose. The baking spices on this...mmm. The floral elements hit the palate immediately, followed by some leftover tannin and acidity on the top of the palate. Underripe raspberry, cinnamon stick, clove and some vanilla bean follow and lead to the finish. Tasty. Perfect compliment for lamb.

Nose of red fruit, pomegranate, freshly cracked black pepper, lilac. Minimal tannins and a punch of acidity. The palate is simple and maybe a bit closed, but also similar to the nose. I’d give it time. There’s enough acidity to keep.

This is fantastic. It’s right where it needs to be. Nose of mulled raspberries, mushroom, wet soil, hay, and white pepper. Lush tannins mostly faded and a hit of acidity that’s not grippy at all. The nose transfers through to the palate with the fruit really shining. There’s some umami and more white pepper. I wish I had more. Drink up.

It’s full. Thick. You can tell a cab producer makes this. There’s some black pepper, blackberry, lots of black fruit. It’s silky with faint tannin and goes down well.

Very floral nose. Lilac mostly, but a cacophony of flowers, over ripe raspberries, prune, black cherry, and a touch of black pepper. Strong tannins that linger and cost the top of the palate. Lilac and roses really come to the forefront of the palate with similar fruit and touch of spice. It’s nice, especially with short ribs.

Day 1 very approachable with still more rooms to hit its stride. Day 2 has rose, cinnamon, and pomegranate on the nose. Silky tannins that linger on the top of the tongue and acidity that lasts and makes you want me, but not punchy. The palate is floral with similar notes to the nose. I almost drank through this completely before reviewing.

Nose of bing cherries, pomegranate, a touch of earth (at first, less so with some air), cassis. Initial acidity around the outside of the mouth followed by delicate tannins on the top of the tongue. Big hit of red cherries, jolly rancher, pomegranate tang. Not many layers, but very tasty, smooth, silky and with a velvety finish.

Spot on. Lush silky tannins barely there with enough acidity to make you want more. Bright red fruit. Floral (lavender?). Good balance. Nice lingering flavor.

I’ve had older vintages that were incredibly tasty. This was flat the first 2 days. Day 3 it’s started to show some quality and open up with fruit and a bit of white pepper coming through and lush mouthfeel. The quality is there, but I’d hold for another 5 years min.

Eucalyptus and lavender jump out on the nose with red currant fruit leather and forest floor. Tannins coats the whole top of the tongue with minimal acidity. Tannins isn’t controlling, but definitely present. Red blend fruit leather and lavender on the palate. May be nice chilled.

This is fantastic. It’s more old world in profile, with good new world fruit. Nose is lovely with roses, sweet dark chocolate cherries, with a bit of nutmeg, blackberry and blueberry. Still had tannic structure with quite lush acidity costing the mouth. Dark sweet chocolate with blueberry, blackberry, the nutmeg and some French vanilla coffee in the background. The finish is long. It’s lovely.

This is yum. Beautiful deep copper color. Smells of the sea, saline, rubber, dried apricot, marzipan, pecan and gas station (in a good way of course). Theses a sweetness to it with the apricot, pecan and marzipan coming through and a chewiness with the oil and nice salinity pulling it together. This went well with shrimp paella and bolder spices. I’d like to see how it ages and develops.

The color is starting to look like it has age to it, almost a deep blood orange ring. Nose of earth, dry dirt, leather, cinnamon, blackberry, blood orange. Tannins fading with acidity still making the whole mouth salivate. The blood orange, leather and cinnamon bark hit upfront, with tree bark and dried dirt following. This is really nice. Drink within the next 5 years. Great with meaty pasta dishes.

Took a few days to fully open. Violet immediately jumps out of the glass. Red current and ripe cranberries follow with a touch of white pepper, faint in the back. Tannins still holding on. Acidity fully coating the mouth. Juicy red fruit come to the front with violet hitting on the finish. This can be nice chilled. Easy drinking light red.

Thick and inky. Steak pairs well with the wine. After a day it opened up really well. Tannins still holding on with lush mouth watering acidity that compliments the red and blue fruit (think blueberries and raspberries), with some wet underbrush on a fall day, moist crisp air and freshness. It’s yum.

Earth, mud, mulled raspberry, cinnamon, white pepper, and cranberry. Nose and palate match. Only slight tannins remain and acidity down the sides of the tongue. It’s good. I’m not sure this one will develop anymore, so drink up.

Day 2: You can smell the spice, black pepper hits first with red cherry and dry dirt and a lilac or subtle lavender. The tannins are still present with acidity down the side of the tongue and around the teeth. The black pepper is more subtle on the palate, but still very much there. Tart red cherry, pomegranate, more lavender and some tree bark. It’s nice. A bit more fruit on day 1. Probably needs 3 or so more years.

This is drinking well now and has so much potential. With a bit of time in the glass to open up the honeycomb really pops out with some yellow apple and peach and white flowers. There’s good acidity and a good costing mouth feel. The pit of the stone fruit and under ripe melon and peach come out more in the palate with honey and dried apricots hitting later.

Dark overripe blackberry, overripe black plums (or pluots even for the added sweetness), sweet potpourri (roses), vanilla, sweetened dark chocolate. Overall sweet nose. Very lush, almost no tannins, with just a minimal amount of acidity on the top of the tongue, then the underside. There’s spice on the palate (black pepper, not cracked), with dark fruit, less ripe, and most definitely dark chocolate, touch of oak. This worked really well with slow roasted short ribs and that pushed the score higher.

Marzipan tickles the nose, with Meyer lemon, honey and grapefruit rind. Acidity hits quickly and sharp, then lingers a bit with the grapefruit rind, green apple, bund cake and bee pollen. Definitely enough body for Dijon mustard panko crusted salmon.

It’s not a red. It’s not a rose. It’s a rosed? Very drinkable chilled. Sort of smells like strawberry watermelon lemon jello. It sort of taste like cranberry juice with a splash of lemon, watermelon and apple juice (?). There’s some ocean spray salinity and good acidity. It paired well with ground pork sausage and rosemary pasta. I’m not sure what to make of this, but it’s definitely something I can enjoy on a warm or cool day, for no reason.
