The wine is not bad, but I was as not inspired as with other very nice Aligote. I love the grape, a hidden champion, but with this wine from J-F Protheau it was hard for me to distinguish the Aligote grape in the fluid.

One of the best is done by Coche-Dury, just to give you some idea what I call „very good“ 😇

Unbalanced wine with lots of acidity and not much else to show. Not quite bad, but not a good wine either.

2/4/23, 6:17 AM - We just tasted it yesterday and purchased a case. Your review seems odd. Maybe you had a flawed bottle? If anything, I would describe it as a „fruit bomb“, quite the opposite of your comments. We will try again in a few days.

Dommage car il me reste d'autres bouteilles.

Hoping this is either an off bottle or in an evolutionary Dumb Phase as it didn't show nearly as well as the first back in 2018. Volatile acidity on the nose and palate day 1, reminding me of the smell of the solution used to dye your hard-boiled Easter eggs various colors. This persisted into day 3 although the effect lessened. Anyone else getting this?

7/13/21, 9:44 AM - Oechsle noted a subdued phase for the V. Donjon CdP wine. I tried it with Coravin together with a 2016 CdP from Ch. St. Cosme. Nothing wrong with the V. Donjon, just needs to wake up. Give it time. Drink the s. Cosme first, this one starts to come along!

Just a great example of ChnP and a great vintage. This wine is singing now.

Ripe nose, some cedarwood, black tea, bricking color. Tannins softened, wine is ready. Long finish. But will live on for several years. Had it with a cheese plate.

Light red. Fruity, quite juicy. Medium long, light body.
  • Aschi commented:

11/7/13, 7:37 AM - This is a chardonnay. Maybe this comment refers to a red Pernand from Rapet?

Pale straw color, quite a bit of fizz present, nice nose, fresh, yeasty
but on the palate incredibly dumb, bitter and short. No acidity (did they cut it?)no nothing!
Very disappointing, also for the price!
On the day after: the bitterness is gone, making the wine more pleasant and drinkable. Still: The lack of acidity still takes away a lot of the liveliness such a wine should have. Now 79 -80 points

7/16/11, 1:28 PM - Hi Bandreas, not sure but maybe you got a bad bottle? A dead one? Sure, chasselas wines generally appear like water to Chardonnay/Sauv. blanc palates! You need to grow up on Chasselas to like them! Else better go for Swiss cheese or Swiss chocolate! But the Mureilles is actually a style between the fizzy, flint-stony and the "oily" wines from Aigle you can find there. Usually a good compromise. But its very overprized, even in Switzerland (running at 21 CHF, which is 25 $ with the present exchange rate). You can find a decent Chasselas here for 7 CHF, 9 $! Anyway, keep trying new stuff!
