Nice balance of sweetness and acidity. Apple notes, touch of saffron. No pineapple, unlike previous vintages.

Still young wine, tannins quite present. Strong smell and taste of cedarwood / cigarbox. Needs more time to come together. Had it after Pelofino 2018, with my daily cheese plate.

Had it with duck breast, after 6 hours decant. Subdued nose, opening slightly during the evening. Tannins still prominent. Next bottle will try with Coravin. 2024 or later.

Smell of starfruit, medium high acidity. Needs to calm down first to round up, it is too young now. Try 2024. Had it with jambon presilee and cornichon.

I always liked Musso Barb Pora. This Nebbiolo is now perfectly ready to drink. Light color with brick tones. Smells of wood floor, wet leaves, mushrooms in fall. Medium body. Tannins present, but well integrated. Had it with wild-garlic spaetzle and chicken burger.. A revelation

In my view very reductive and sulfury nose upon opening. Maybe that is what some describe as barnyardy? Only after a decant of 24 hours this smell disappeared and the wine started to shine. Then its an above average CdR, but nothing spectacular, unlike their Gigondas.

Hard to believe that this is a Pinot Noir. Golden color. Reminds me very much of Sauternes. Smells of apricots, quince and saffron. Concentrated, from late harvest. Great balance of sweetness and acidity. Super!

On the second day, the sulphur smell I noted yesterday is gone. Interestingly, the Sangiovese is now much more prominent. Had it with cheese plate. Next bottle I will decant for a few hours or open a day earlier.

Popped and poured. It had a sulfury smell, needs some air to breathe. I used the vintury, this seemed to help a bit. Not much of sangiovese going on, cab is more dominant, as noted by others. Rather light wine. Had it with pasta. Will retry tomorrow after more air exposure.

Poured it into the decanter and was shocked by the light and brownish color, suspecting bad storage and oxidation. Even though it was purchased by us in the Barbaresco enoteca, because Bruno Roccca had no wines to sell in fall 2020. However, after 3 hours things worked out pretty great, with a mushroomy forest floor smell, dark berries, still pretty tannic but very elegant and light. Should soften up over the next few years. Had it with traditional Xmas rabbit and mashed potatoe dish prepared by my wonderful wife Natalia.

Tried with Coravin. Fruit foward smell, fruit candy, grenadine. Almost pink colour, light and fruity aromas, medium tannin. Some reductive notes? Feels very young, at 10 years of age. Will keep for another year, or two, and then give it a long decant.

One taster noted a subdued phase for the V. Donjon CdP wine. I tried it with Coravin together with the 2016 CdP from Ch. St. Cosme. Nothing wrong with the V. Donjon, just needs to wake up. Give it time. Drink the S. Cosme first, it starts to get ready!

Unlike many Sylvaner wines from Alsace, this one is much more concentrated. Nice balance of minimal residual sugar and acidity. According to Johannes Louis low yield is the key. Smell of peaches, golden color.

Finished the Coravin touched bottle. Reductive and somewhat sulfuric smell, Venturi and decanting helped a little. On the second day, all this was gone and the wine came together wonderfully. Smells of garrigue, herbs, soft tannins. Very elegant wine with a good mouthfeel. Long decant needed, even overnight.

We were a few days on this winery bed-and-breakfast with unbeatable view over the Chianti region and took this wine home with us. It is their top of the line wine, but appeared rather tired and pale. But after a 2 hour decant the smells started to appear. Its a delicate and not a big Chianti. Good match with spinach-riccotta stuffed pasta and sugo, and a cheese plate.

Often, Swiss Pinots from barrique are overoaked. This one is a great example of great integration and balance. Not a Burgundy, but close. Will buy more!

Tried a sip today with Coravin. This is not the typical rather fruity and quaffable Swiss pinot noir. This is more like a Burgundy, dense yet elegant, well integrated oak notes, and still a substantial backbone of tannins. Will try again in 1 year from now.

Direct import from the US, to Switzerland We like this Zin for its QPR. Smell of dark berries, low acidity but still noticeable tannins. Was a perfect match for a duck breast, with potatoe gratin and red cabbage. Will wait another year before opening the next bottle.

While some time ago the premier crus did not really shine, compared to the village Chablis from this producer, it has now evolved to something special. It is still citrussy (lemongrass) with some acidity, but it has smoothed out and developed additional aromas, even a bit creamy now (but still well balanced by a good acidity). Had it with smoked salmon trout and horseradish-creamchesse. It did cut nicely through the fatty fish, a perfect combination.

Living in the western part of Switzerland, I am used to Chasselas wines. This RS has smells of citrus, and a bit of elderberry. A nice acidity and freshness is in contrast to recent Chasselas wines, which become more and more alcoholic, oily and lack acidity and fizz, due to climate change. Maybe RS wines could be an answer for climate warming?

My first impression: acidity is quite low, makes the wine more flat than other vintages. Is climate change gong to destroy our wines?

I agree with a previous review. But for my taste (or in combination with goat cheese) the wine seems almost ready to go. Tannins are not very dominant, compared to other Barberas I had. But it will age gracefully over the next few years (unlike many, I like older Barberas).

Opened, decanted for 1 hour. Smell of smoke, I can notice the liquorice mentioned by others. Tannins have softened, wine is medium long, elegant. Had it with Papet Vaudois, which is a Swiss (French part) leek & potato stew, with a slightly smoked meaty pork sausage in it. Delicious combination.

Ok, I did not wait as long as planned with the next bottle. But it was a good idea to try another one. Overwhelming smell of dark berries, forest floor, mushrooms. Smooth tannins, well balanced with mouthwatering taste of fruits. Long aftertaste. Much more developed than last bottle I tried 3 months ago. Had this wine with pasta and home-made sugo, made from self grown tomatoes. The real stuff. Is the more mature stage of the wine a development? Or bottle variation? Next bottle will tell what is going on. Probably during the coming holidays. Thanks Walter Musso!

Coravin taste. Color shows signs of maturity, as does the smell, which is not very expressive. Lean midpalate, but still prominent tannins. Not sure this will come together, maybe better open the five remaining bottles during the coming year or so. Could gain from decanting, briefly.

This is quite unusual SB. Subdued smell, not grassy or lemony, and no cat pee. Smooth, medium acidity, well balanced, quite persistent mid palate, tiny touch of TDN. Has almost some Chardonnay character.

Pora from Walter Musso was always a favorite Barbaresco for me. It is largely overlooked, wich keeps the prize reasonable. This one is still closed down, some smell of forest soil, mushrooms. Still quite tamnic and acid. Will wait a year or two before trying the next bottle, score may well go up with time.

Color on the turn to tile-red, looks ready. Smell of forest floor, mushrooms, very strong. Smooth midpalate, tannins already soft. Looooong finish. Had it with pasta and sugo, followed by a cheese plate.
