Opened for 2.5 hours. Color is bright ruby. On the nose: Rose, tar, black cherry and mushroom. On the palate: Rose, sour cherry, strawberry and tar. This is very good and very well priced as they always are. This is such a good year for this producer. I have been drinking the basic Barbaresco which is fabulous. Alcohol is on the high side but not tasting it. This wine is a great buy.

Opened for 1 hour. Color: Deep garnet, not much age showing on rim (just a hint of orange). On the nose: Pepper, cassis, plum and violets. On the palate: Cassis, violets, smoke and pepper. Finish is medium, mouthfeel is smooth and elegant. Getting better with air. Needs another few hours to properly open up. This is good.

PnP. Color is deep ruby. On the nose: Plums, cherry and a little bit of funk. On the palate: Cherry, vanilla and plum. Finish is medium to a little short. Very good acidity and mouthfeel. This drinks very easily and is a nice find. Was recommended at my local wine shop. This is worth trying.

My first RunRig in probably 5 years. Opened for 2 hours. Color is deep garnet/purple. ON the nose: Pepper, plums, cedar, cassis and espresso. On the palate: Rich ripe Plums, pepper, cassis, prune and espresso. Massive flavors of very ripe fruit. Wine is viscous and coating. This is a big boy. Not jammy but fruit is big and explosive. I prefer Northern Rhône style but this is very very good for a change of pace. I have 2 more bottles which I will let age a bit.

Opened for 3 hours. Color is deep garnet. On the nose: Violets, cassis , blood, smoke and pepper. On the palate: Cassis, violets, pepper, smoke and beef blood. This is very young and very good. Great mouthfeel and elegance. It’s silky smooth. If you can find a bottle this is a great way to experience Cornas. I know the production on this is very small. I think this will be magnificent in 5 - 10 years.

Opened 3 hours. Color is deep red/purple. On the nose: Blackberries, red berries and cassis. On the palate: Loads of berries : black and red, baking spices and hint of vanilla at back end. Good acidity lightens it up. Flavors are broad. Touch of alcohol heat at the back. Finish is medium. I like and drink a lot of Ridge Zinfandels and this one is good. I am thinking some age will help it. I have three more bottles that I will wait on to see how it ages. It is smoothing out nicely as air gets to it.

Opened for 2 hours. Color is a beautiful bright ruby red. On the nose: Massive Kirsch, strawberry, raspberry and cola. This is a wine you can savor the aromas for a while on as they are big and beautiful. On the palate: Bright Cherry, raspberries, cola, baking spices and some vanilla. Very good length and mouthfeel. A beautiful wine. Lively with good acidity. I am having with duck breast on Labor Day weekend. I’ve been a Kosta Browne fan for a long time but have not had one in a while and have been drinking more Oregon Pinot’s of late. This vintage does not disappoint.

Coming back to after a few years. Opened for 3 hours. Color is nice ruby. On the nose: Kirsch, Strawberry and hint of Provençal herbs. On the palate: Strawberry, kirsch, and lavender with Provençal herbs. Tannins still prominent on back end. It’s a great wine and built to last. I think will continue to improve with age. My next bottle will wait till winter when the meals will be a heartier match as it’s a big wine.

Opened for 3 hours. Color is deep garnet and very opaque. On the nose: Cassis, vanilla, violets. On the palate: I think it’s a bit closed off at moment but I get Plum, cassis, dark chocolate , espresso and Baking spices. Velvety mouthfeel. It’s way to young to drink but the bones and class are there. I am biased as I am a huge fan of Vega Sicilia Unico and drink maybe a bottle a year when I want a real treat which I wanted today. I have not had one in a while. I have a case and I need to resist for at least 5 years. I think it scores much higher in future maybe 96+.

Opened 3 hours. Color is deep garnet. On the nose: Pepper, sour cherry lambic funk, beef blood, olives, cassis, violets. On the palate: Cherry lambic, violets, cassis, pepper, plum and blood. This is just fantastic. I think Baron’s wines are fabulous. I drink a lot of Cote Rotie, Hermitage and Cornas and the Cayuse and Horsepower wines are the closest I’ve found in the US. They are to be cherished.

Coming back to after two years. Color is medium gold. On the nose: butterscotch, marzipan and some funk. Very unusual nose. On the palate: Quince, pineapple, almonds, salinity. It’s very reductive and sherry like and while unusual , it’s quite good to me. Maybe this is where older Dagueneau wines go to. I have 4 more bottles of the vintage, so I am going to keep aging them and see what happens.

On the palate: Citrus (lemon and orange), honeysuckle, apricot stone, nice salinity towards the finish and a hint of spice right at the end. This is a very nice wine. Drinks very easily. Going down well on a hot day after a long day at office. Worth seeking out as good complexity for the price point.

Opened for 3 hours. Color is very deep opaque garnet. On the nose: Plum, violets, vanilla, dark cherry. On the palate:Plum, cinnamon, vanilla and licorice. Nice mouthfeel (Dense and silky) but the fruit is not coming through as much as I think it wants to. Maybe it’s in a closed phase or needs much more time to decant. Tastes like it has the potential to be very good when it opens up. I am enjoying though.
