At 12 years old this wine has aged perfectly.

Your rating seems very exaggerated to me!

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #035: Champagne plus a few extra's (By MN): Rust and earth in the bouquet. On the palate rust again and tertiary flavors. The acidity is still ok and there is a touch of sweetness. Very mature, but certainly still drinkable. Past its peak, no score.
  • Claude Bizon commented:

1/7/23, 1:44 AM - It is not because it has passed its peak that this wine is bad!
Me, I still find it as good and may its peak continue!

Old style CLARET. Fantastic, please take note Mr Parker and your crew of fruit bomb obsessed “all Bordeaux should be like Californian cabs” none sense. This is how claret should taste, not like reduced port spritzers, or Rhône clones.

Beautiful different layers, nicely balanced fruit. A little drying on the edge. Cigar box, hint of leather. Drunk with a roast chicken, made all four of us smile...

We’re all fed up of Mr Parker and his crew.

Tasted in double-blind fashion from a bottle kindly provided by Z.F., this deep red/garnet wine offers aromas of tobacco, earth, leather and subtle plum. Medium-bodied, round, seamlessly alcoholic (12.5%) and with melted tannins, it stays solid in the middle and closes with medium length. Based upon this particular bottle, the fading fruit would suggest that it is time to pop the corks. Drink now.

10/31/20, 5:02 AM - Apparently you don't like old wines or your cellar is of poor quality!

  • Claude Bizon commented:

11/1/20, 3:09 AM - Ok! It's a pity!! It's important to have a good cellar to preserve the wines, I'm lucky to have a cellar that allows me to preserve my wines for a very long time! Good future tastings!

Crisp yellow citrus combined with hints of sweet orange and mango on the nose and palate are a perfect match for all that racy acidity found here. 92 Pts

90 pts

At 18 years of age, this Cissac will please all Bordeauxphlies like myself, but probably won't appeal to non Bordeaux lovers. Opened and decanted just 20 minutes before drinking, to accompany roast gammon. There is good stewed fruit initially, with a dusty background feel so typical of aged Medocs. On the palate, there is liquorice and chocolate. And then, after about an hour the earthiness starts coming through and the pleasure increases. It's never exceptional but nevertheless a real delight to drink.
  • Claude Bizon commented:

12/8/17, 10:24 AM - I really think that Médoc is not worth 87 points! It is a closed Médoc, not very expressive. I attributed to him, for now, only 77 points, it is not worth more! My Medoc "Château Liversan" 1979, older is much better! I was really disappointed! I have 5 bottles left, I'll let them age more.

Coup de Coeur and *** in the Guide Hachette 2004. Lovely aromas of yellow prune, citrus, pineapple, raspberries and tropical fruit; refreshing and supple, wonderful balance between roundness and vibrancy, nice hint of "gras"; lovely length, complete.
  • Claude Bizon commented:

10/28/17, 11:21 AM - I agree with you, moreover, it is a wine of good conservation

  • Claude Bizon commented:

    10/25/17, 2:42 PM - Il m'en reste encore 3 que je savoure d'avance!
