Atypical in a good way. Mostly sea shells and floral on the nose; I had to hunt to find lemon and apple. Palate entry begins with velvet fruit, but transforms into almost weightless citrus tinged juice that finishes weigh a light mineral purity. Very finesseful. Not paired with food, but I would aim for something light such as a fresh goat cheese.

Elected to not decant; left open for 3 hours. Deep garnet color. Gorgeous nose featuring red fruit/berries, licorice, floral notes and forest floor. Broad medium weight fruit with silky persistence, lightly substantial tannins and mineral acid. Great match for lobster with peas and herbs risotto. Harmonious now but with years to go.

PnSlowOx. Light garnet behind orange/brown. Nose indicates fruit is fading fast, but plenty of secondary/tertiary notes. Some strawberry/cherry still present. Palate is balanced between lighter fruit weight and acidity. My notes from 12 years ago barely noted acidity as is was behind so much fruit. Now it is a harmonious feature. Plan to hunt down my last bottle soon.

Great shape, starting to mature. Strong sense of fruit weight, but without overt identifiable individual fruit aromas or flavor, beyond light lemony citrus. Good balance of fruit vs mineral/acidity. Not at the level of 2002 or 2008, but no complaints. I intend to drink the remainder of these in the next couple of years.

Opened 3 hours without decant. Deep red color. Completely enjoyable from bright fruit with earth and spice components on the nose through a lengthy finish with acidity and some mineral. Not a contemplative wine, but very refreshing, interesting enough and so great with food. No signs of deline.

Did not decant. Translucent light garnet. Berries and earth notes on the nose. Palate leads with light, but expressive fresh slice berries with approachable tannins and a good cut of acidity. Surprised by the light color, but I truly enjoyed the unmanipulated expression. Not for long term cellaring.

Not a rose as there is no hint of color; maybe a nod to its pinot noir content. Very well balanced with white orchard fruit, some citrus, yeastiness, bright bead and rounded mouth-feel (due to dosage) that is nicely cut by acidity. Lovely as aperitif and, later, even better with food.

White orchard fruit, some citrus and vanilla oak. To me this is too light on the acid/mineral side for a PF and resembles a Cali chard with its fruit and oak. Still, it is quite tasty.

An array of fruits (apple, lemon, pear), very precise with great mineral and zesty acidity. Complex nose, flavors, and palate feel. Really great.

PnP. Fruit is beginning to lean toward raisin-like qualities on the nose and palate. Red berries and bramble till nicely evident. Light acidity and still firmish tannins mixing with heat on the finish.

PnP. Reddish violet. Cherry and other red fruits, back by an array of lightly expressive floral, tar, and earth notes. Expansive fruit of medium weight on the palate with light tannins, light, balancing acidity and medium penetration. Really quite a harmonious package and uniquely Tuscan.

PnP. Had this with room service in a tumbler. Even in this meager setting the charms of this wine shown through. Starting to show brown/orange on the edges (no real rim in a hotel tumbler), nose has bright red fruit with evident crushed dried herbs, pine floor and some slight oak/vanilla. Palate is balanced ever so slightly towards its Cali fruit, but with bright acidity and easy/grainy tannins. Almost elegant, but certainly enjoyable alone or enhancing an almost dreadful meal.

Decanted for one hour. Still deep violet red. Similar to first encounter in 2010, but clearly more expressive now. Red cherry fruit really prominent on the nose, with tar, floral notes, vanilla (oak) and pepper. Almost heavy fruit on entry is kept light enough by the fine tannins and good acidity. Licorice/anise notes after midpalate as the fruit flavors recede a bit. Bit of heat on finish.

Well delineated, tart/mineral/citrus white burg with a round center of tropical and white orchard fruit. Medium/light oak. Interesting and pleasing from nose to palate.

Decanted 2 hours (definitely opened as a result and plenty of sediment). Deep cherry red. Nose has plenty of dark berries, cassis, leather, tobacco and some dried herb. Palate is a delight with great integration/balance. Lush fruit, firmish tannins and acidity all evident if sought separately, but forms a nice harmony. This is in a great place with a little air. No signs of age other than copious sediment.

White fruit and some acidity. Palate is a bit 'clunky and lacks tension, refinement; more like a dry fruit juice.

Opened 3 hours before serving and elected not to decant. This wine has really developed since my last note 6 years ago. Now with both primary and secondary notes on the expressive nose (cherries, strawberry, dried leaves, earth, floral notes and flint). Palate has a underlying creamy, light fruit painted with lifting acidity, mineral and light, but firm tannins. Served with seared opah and saffron risotto too great effect. Everyone kept returning to the bottle for more sniffs and sips as the wine slowly evolved. Now ready and should last; decant optional.

Evident stone, apple, lemon on the nose. Palate is a bit steely in a good way. Crisp but with a little fruit weight/roundness. Great on the deck on an unseasonably warm evening.

Elected to decant as this was a bit closed. After almost 3 hours the dark berry fruit, blood and pepper (?) were evident. Palate is pretty balanced with medium+ fruit weight, a pretty sizable dose of gritty tannin and balancing acidity. Work well with pork chops, carmelized peaches and lemon/garlic/rosemary as both the tannin and acid were good offsets to the meat and sweetness.

Interesting contrast to the last bottle. This one crisp, mineral and with plenty of acidity. Citrus/apple/pear on nose and with a saline quality. Terrific with food. I have a few of these left and I hoping they resemble this one.

Initially flint and rocks on the nose . With air and warming floral notes, white orchard fruit and some citrus emerged. Palate is light, tart and mineral. Fruit textures emerged with time. No hurry to open. Fine now, but consider a decant.

Seemed be more expressive and 'deeper' than last note (4 years ago). Same exact aromas, sense of mineral and freshness. Definitely had some extra weight and length/complexity this time.

Opened 3 hours before serving and elected not to decant (left open). Ruby/garnet with some light orange on rim. Nose has a mix of fresh cherry/plum and dried fruits, vanilla/oak, flint/stone, white pepper, and garrique. Palate is amazing with gritty (pleasant) tannins balancing fruit in an elegant manner. Acidity and mineral throughout. Long, persistent flavors that evolve. Decanting an option. This has years and years of life.

Four years since the last bottle. This time I elected not to decant as it was quite expressive on opening. I see a very slight brown tinge that was not noted last time. Everything else applies. This is a vibrant, complex wine. Judging by its age, it should continue to be wonderful for years to come.

This wine beautifully combines sweet-fruit weightiness with vivid counterbalancing acidity. The nose is complex with tropical, citrus and hint of green fruit. It also has metal, floral notes and vanilla/nuttiness. Slightly higher fruit weight on the palate for a Sancerre, but truly dances on the palate with hard to pin down character that keeps your attention.

Splash decanted (some benefit as the medium/light fruit was reticent). Light red in color. The fruit on the nose leans towards lighter berries and floral notes; also some cherry and a hint of earth (not detecting oak). Medium light fruit weigh with a bright crunchiness, light tannins and quite evident acidity. All seems in balance. Was better with food (white pizza), but would not put this Brunello with red meat as a first choice. Drink or hold.

Left open 3 hours before serving, elected to not decant -- worked fine but will decant the next one. Garnet with some orange. Stone, red berries and floral notes on nose. Medium (-) weight fruit enveloped by equal parts mineral acidity and tannins. Underlying richness of fruit. Great with food and the nose continued to transform throughout the evening, taking on more asian spice and earth notes. Amazing bargain and with many years to develop.

Decanted 2 hours and could have used at least double that. Translucent garnet/brown. Nose with cherry, pine, floral notes, black pepper, flint/brass and touch of background oak/vanilla. Palate with fresh, medium weight fruit, zippy acidity and hard-edged tannins. Good persistence and finishing with some mineral. With pork chop and gnocchi the tannins receded considerably and accented the cherry flavors, enhancing both the wine and the food. Charming wine that’s built for the table.

Figured this would be nice, given the vintage and 1er cru, but this truly exceeded expectations. Bright white orchard and citrus fruits on nose and palate. Zingy palate feel that never approaches tart. Stony mineral. Really alive and craves food. Hugely popular at the table.

Opened for 4 hours, but elected not to decant. Nearly translucent violet red. Nose has mix of red and dark berries, pepper, earth and garrique - transfixing. Palate has medium weight fruit, active tannins, good acidity acidity, some etoh heat (but not out of proportion). Nice penetration and length. Complexity of aromas, flavor and palate feel. This is in a very good place. Great match with pork tenderloin.

A real stunner. Bright citrus-driven fruit with mineral, floral and white pepper notes on nose. Exquisitely balanced palate of mouth-coating, lightly-flavored fruit that matches the lacy mineral acidity and then persists and penetrates. Mouth watering before dinner and then a perfect match with seared cod.

Seems to be both adding depth and becoming more transparent on the palate with age. Kind of shocked that this wine continued to develop like this. Sad it's my last bottle.

Forward white and tropical fruit. Interesting light mineral and aroma/flavor of white pepper and porcini powder. Touch of lemon-ginger as well. Acidity is just adequate, keeping this from being a crisp or elegant wine.

Nose features mainly citrus, floral, yeast and mineral. I found this champagne to be pure, bright and crisp. Not deep or complex, but still clearly of place. We’ve taken to pairing champagne with pizza as a decadent pleasure and this one was up to the task.

Just great. Bright apple/pear and citrus fruit, yeasty undertones and lacy mineral acidity. Lithe on the palate and is a perfect foil for a range of food. We had it with charcuterie followed by a salad containing avocado, shallots, blood orange and raw yellowfin tuna and it was stunningly good with each. Disgorged 2013 (mainly 2008 fruit).

Weightier fruit than expected, yet held together with mineral-infused acidity. Round on finish, not tart. Served with avocado, raw yellowfin tuna, shallot, blood orange salad and its expressive, weighty fruit was a bit much for the dish. Still available Champagne was, however, a near perfect match.

On opening, completely closed. With swirling cherries and Cheracol, so decided to decant. Violet red with evident browning on rim. When time to serve at 3-4 hours, this was singing. Cheracol was not evident at all. Cherries, tobacco, leather, asian spice on nose. Palate with medium weight fruit and beautiful balance of fruit, acidity, slight mineral and fine tannins. Really unique; walks between elegant and rustic charm. Fine match to osso bucco.

PnSox. This is fresh and vibrant and compared to my note 6 yrs ago, it seems that the creamy, thicker fruit aspects are more balanced now. Great balance with light red fruits (again, cranberry-leaning), stone, acidity and light tannins with a satiny undertone. Still with very little secondary flavors. Might hold last bottle for several years, but this is wonderful now and great with food (seared scallops for us).

PnP. Interesting that this CdR took 12 years to truly come together. Dark berries, garrique and faint earth notes on nose. Medium weight fruit, soft tannins and light, but sufficient acid on palate. Nicely balanced, holds interest and complements food. Etoh (or ‘heat’), noticed in past has receded. No reason to hold longer; not fading either.
