Well balanced with a long finish. Blackberry, earthy, chewy, and still some soft tannin near the finish. This could age longer, but drinking very well now. Wish I had a few more bottles.

2016 seems too young still. Aerated the wine and gave it time and it never opened fully after 2 hours. My comparison from 1 or 2 days before - a Pinot Noir from Merry Edwards (same year). Huge difference between too comparably priced wines.

The time to drink was probably a year or two earlier. Still enjoyable. Agree with previous comments, damp, dark cherry, smokey, thin finish.

The wine looks ruby colored. It smells like blackberry. It tastes like strawberry jam, blackberry, red currant and black pepper. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

big plum, stewed strawberry in the nose, medium finish with a short sweetness at the end.

Agree with previous reviewers who cited ridge bottle notes -immediately thought maybe this should be a dessert wine. This not my preferred ridge profile because it feel like syrup in my mouth and the flavor profiles dissolve quickly.

Paired with a Belgian dark chocolate filled with black currant ganache!

Still drinking well (IMO).Tannins still present. 24+ hours smoothed out the taste and made the blackberry flavor a more approachable. Still good 48 hours later. Soft berry, earth, and a touch of tobacco on the nose. Med finish.

This is for a 2005 - sorry, but it's impossible to modify the entry with corkz on iPhone.

Bottom line the '05 still tastes good. I drank it over 3 days - pumped in fridge and it did pretty well. It had mellowed quite a bit. When I first open I got that raisin taste, but that disappeared after 15-20 mins and the overall body came forward.

Drinking very well, classic old vine Nervo with deep flavors and a long finish thanks to that 7% petite sirah. This opened up over 2 hours or so, faster than some other old Ridges such as carignan. Nice, big nose that went well with spicy sausage and lentils.

Great nose, berry fruit, warm, cinnamon - yes even keel taste, but lacks clear flavor or character on the mid-taste and finish. Or perhaps i say this because I don't drink much merlot and forget the expected flavor profile. I do like Swanson merlot wines.

I picked up a case of 2003 on sale at their store in Healdsburg (I think) about - 12 months ago. Still drinking the '03 and it tastes great. Yes, it's near the back end, but this wine already has an old vine taste, so a bit more concentration of flavor works out fine. I am trying to finish it off ASAP, but I've been pleasantly surprised at how it held up. It even lasts a day with wine pump.

Grenache gives this wine a bit more bite at this tasting. A great Rhone style as others have said. Earthy and fruit flavors still ahone. Took over 3-4 hours to open up and the alcohol still tasted a bit hot. I recommend drinking the wine on the cooler side for a red.

A great and subtle nose with hints of blackberry, cherry, spice/cinnamon, earthy tobacco. I didn't smell the alcohol right away.

Very concentrated and unique flavor profile. You're tasting that Verdot grape but it's not as punchy as a big Zinfandel either. I probably did not have it open long enough (1 hr before drinking) as the bosybstill did not open up in the mouth as much as I would have expected. Medium finish. I didn't get a lot of tannins, but it also didn't feel like it had gone soft either.

A fun and worthy wine to drink. Paired with a coffee spiced steak and some sausages which helped.
