Deep, and quite dense, brick color. Layered nose of tar, dirty strawberries, orange zest, caramel and spice, with some savory notes. Medium+ body, medium+ acidity, and absolutely bone dry tannins. Lots of tart strawberries and earthy minerality on the palate. Long finish of sweet tobacco. Hold onto this for a few more years - lots of potential. (Range 91-92)

Pale garnet leaning toward brick. Forward nose with tart strawberries, orange skin, char, and some floral notes. Medium body, high acidity, and fairly high tannin balanced with sweet cranberries and spice. Long leathery finish showing noticeably high alcohol, but not harsh. Simple, yet well-rounded Nebbiolo for the price.

Translucent garnet color with red-pink edges. Incredibly restrained nose, favoring depth and complexity over lifted perfume. Cranberries, bell pepper, mushrooms, with tomato skin and subtle orange peel. Medium body with cool, stone texture, gentle acidity and sweet red fruits. Persistent, mossy finish with dry red fruits and hints of graphite.

Translucent brick color with red-orange edges. Lifted nose of roses, tar, dried lavender, blue flower petals, with ripe pomegranate and black cherry notes. Medium body with brilliant acidity and a soft, yet firm, palate. High minerality mouthfeel with tart pomegranate and leather notes. Long, very dry, finish of crushed rose petals and cigar wrapper.

(Needed a while to open up, 2 hour decant - lots of life ahead of this one)

Low/mid opacity with deeper garnet than most. Very plush nose with blackberry jam, tar, crushed black cherries, licorice, and some leather. Medium+ body, chewy tannins, rather subdued acidity, and lots of lush dark fruits. Long finish of dark crushed fruits and tobacco. Clearly a plush, fruit-driven style of Brunello. Lacks finesse in my opinion, but bold and well-constructed.

Inky purple - totally opaque. Beautiful nose of flowers, cedar, tar, blackberries, and some green pepper. Full body with thick tannins and more than usual acidity for a cabernet. Tart red berries and licorice notes. Finish is long and hot. Lots of dark tobacco and chocolate, but the alcohol stands out a bit and harshens the finish. Very Bordeaux-esq character. Great power and concentration that will help this age and soften.

Vibrant, opaque ruby with purple edges. Bold plum, fresh herb notes, flowers, and a distinct meaty characteristic. Medium+ body with strong, coating tannins - this is very young with potential - hold for 3-6 years. Ripe fruit on the palate leading to a medium length, meaty finish further showing the tightness. (Range 89-91)

(Tasted blind) Medium ruby and medium opacity. Soft blueberry and raspberry with some pepper, but not very aromatic (90min decant). Medium body with fairly bitter tannins and dry fruit flavor - thin for a big Napa Cab. Long, peppery finish. Rather weak structure - the reveal was a big surprise!

Medium garnet and high transparency. Concentrated and earthy nose of dirt, old leather, potting soil, and barn. Subtle black cherry as well. Medium body with strong, gripping tannins - this is very tight and needs time to develop. Tightness shows on the medium finish with dirt notes. Could be a real beauty in 5-8 years! (Range 91-93)

Light garnet with orange-red edges. Bursting nose of ripe red cherry, rose and lily. Secondary notes of new leather. Medium body with silky mouthfeel and tingling acidity. Long gripping finish of new leather and some toasted wood. Some bitterness on the rear palate that seems to dissipate with time. Beautiful now - early drinking for a 2010, but still with holding potential.
