My last 2012 and still lovely! Tasting note is from day 2. Day 1 was fine too but didn't take any notes and my food pairing didn't do it any justice.

Light yellow in color. The nose matches to the palate.

Initial tasting is very mineral driven, with a waxy texture, at first making it seem slightly closed. But then it expands with vibrant and long-lingering fruit finish. Many layers to this wine, with green apple and tangerine, lots of minerality, with a touch of herbs and saline. What a fantastic, multi-layer experience!

I am sure this wine could go much longer, but alas this is my last bottle. Looking forward to the 2017 and 2019 in my cellar.

A year ago I had the 2016 vintage as PnP and it was lovely and remained lovely over 2 days. This bottle did not fair as well. For Day 1, I'll borrow Caspernick's description of angular, with sharp acidity. I thought perhaps I had opened it too early, but I'm not convinced on the second day. The second day the fruit, acidity, and fine tannins are all nicely integrated, but the wine just fell flat with lingering watery minerals on the aftertaste.

Normally I enjoy saline taste in white wines, but in this case the salt isn't at all integrated. It's like drinking salty water and wine as two separate ingredients. Did not enjoy.

Very basic white with moderate acidity. I can see why it is only $12.99 but I would prefer spending a little more to get some added complexity.

Past prime. Acidity and tannins were good, but nothing else to say for it. Day 1 too much stewed fruit. Day 2 saw a little added brightness but lacking in any complexity. Didn't finish the bottle - too many more interesting things to drink.

At this very young age, I preferred this chilled and as an aperitif. It went well with shrimp cocktail and smoked salmon spread. At this early stage, high acidity that overshadows the mineral notes that are there. Still quite nice, but I think it will do much better with some years on it.

Update for day 3…best of all days. Acidity nicely integrated, balanced. More pleasant for sipping by itself than earlier

Really lovely Barossa Shiraz. Would have been interesting to have tasted upon release. The professional reviews are quite accurate for the palate. A very elegant shiraz, medium body, fine tannins. Lovely blackberry and dark fruit flavors, with just a hint of dusty chocolate. Very fresh. Seems like there should be no hurry in consuming my second / last bottle. It should do well for quite some time.

PnP on day 1. Drank over 2 days

Nice to have some single serving bottles and at only $2.99 each a much better value than Prosecco Strawberry, fruity, pleasant. A good summer rose with bubbles

Very nice and for $14.99 makes a good weekly drinker. Juicy, fruity with a touch of earth and herbs. Not compelling enough, though, that I minded pouring the last glass down the drain.

Consumed over two nights. Mineral driven, even more so on day 1. Slate and wet stone linger for over a minute. Juicy acidity with salty grapefruit, orange peel, lime and overall citrus.

Food friendly, but I preferred as an aperitif so I could fully enjoy the mineral elements.

I would have left this in the cellar for longer but want to reduce my Riesling inventory by a bit. Has plenty of life left.

The description on the bottle of 'light, crisp, and fruity' is fitting, as is ULFH's of cherries, balsamic, herbs and tomatoes. Very tasty little wine. Makes me crave Greek food! Friendly price as well.

Continuing my recent tasting with same wine but 2017, 2018, 2019 and now 2020 vintages. Upon opening the 2020 vintage it is very Riesling like - juicy, hint of grapefruit, higher acidity than the previous vintages. Sweetness initially more pronounced and then fading a bit to bring it more into balance. Stone fruit lingering after.

Day 2 is more elegant than day 1, adding some depth that wasn't there previously. Minerals more in the forefront, almonds, and a richness that wasn't there earlier.

Really lovely and think it will age very nicely.

Purchased 2 bottles at a good price from our local store (with the supply chain issues they have been doing a good job of scouring the closeout lists and have brought in some really nice wine).

Anyway, very pleasant nose - yeasty, toasty, creamy with strawberry. On day 1, it was a bit austere but still pleasant. On Day 2, it really has a nice rose profile. Pretty fruit, nice acidity with a touch of toast. A softer wine, but very nice taste. Would be great as a summer wine.

Thin, tart, bleh. Didn't make it through the glass. Will try again tomorrow but assume similar results. Sometimes a good deal isn't really a good deal. Not worth the $20!

My note from last April for this wine only mentions "needed time to open in the glass and excellent the next day as well", however, I found this bottle to be much more unique.

Last week I had the 2017 and 2019 vintage of this wine. Both were excellent, with the 2019 scoring slightly ahead of the 2017. This 2018 vintage is quite a bit different.

I was initially surprised with the yeasty notes on the nose, similar to champagne, with pear, apple pie, cinnamon and a touch of floral. The toasty element extended into day 2 and also onto the palate. The palate is toasty, chalky, with ginger, cardamon, quince, and a hint of floral. Acidity is well balanced and a long finish. I am curious to know how this wine would age, and also, being fairly new to Chenin Blanc find it interesting how the wine can vary so much even with the same producer.

Looking forward to future tastings. I enjoyed the wine very much, but withholding any score. The only negative was that I thought the heat was a bit out of balance at this stage.

Opened the 2017 by accident instead of the 2012. Understandably, better on day 2, with the tannins softening a little and the flavors becoming more integrated. Really enjoyable with cassis, berries, and good acidity. I think the secondary flavors would come out more with time, and it should improve further.

No notes taken while drinking this, but this was a step up from the 2017 I had earlier in the week. It had been a very long work week and day, which means typically I just don't enjoy even great wines as much as I would if I weren't tired and stressed. However, the quality of this wine broke through all that and it was a lovely and perfect end to the week.

The 2017 seemed sweeter, with this 2019 being barely off dry. Lovely fruit flavors, balanced acidity. Very elegant and classy.

Pineapple on the nose with a hint of floral. On the palate, green apple, plum, peach, with hint of herbal and mineral notes. After about 30 minutes, floral notes emerge on the palate. Really nice. Juicy acidity and well balanced off-dry.

Bright tasting with cherries and red fruit, and a nose that matches. Medium tannins and medium-high acidity. Day 2 similar to day 1 with the addition of raspberry. Would make a good summer wine.

Food friendly actually doing very well against rich shrimp and crab cakes, and good with the salmon and potato that followed. On Day 2, did well with spaghetti with meat sauce.

While it was very flexible with different food combinations, I prefer a wine that I can enjoy as a glass before dinner, and this lacked the complexity for that.

Local store obtained a handful of cases on close-out, of which I purchased 8 bottles. Nice to have quality half-bottles on hand. Initially after opening, medium acidity and body, soft dusty tannins, very well balanced.

About 2 hours later, nice nose with red fruit, soft rose and a touch of spice. Slightly more acidic with more pronounced tannins, but still very well balanced with nice berry notes.

Drinking well now, but I don't think I need to hurry on the other 7 bottles. For future bottles, I will aim to open right before consumption as I thought it was best at that point.

Wow, really an elegant wine. I wasn't sure what to expect as I couldn't find any information on this wine, so I was pleasantly surprised! Ready for drinking but I think it could also go much longer.

Drinks more at a Spatlese than Auslese level. Beautiful nose with minerality, salt spray, and soft fruit. On the palate, very juicy peach, mineral, saline. Really beautiful and a good wine to roll around in the mouth to enjoy fully.

Minerals, grass, dried herbs, and citrus on the nose. Dry with moderate citrusy acidity. The minerals and herbal notes keep the acidity from overwhelming the wine. Nice complexity. Great with seafood!

I just couldn't get into this one. I found it interesting that previous reviewers mentioned a lack of acidity, as this bottle had pretty high acidity. Soft mineral presence that the acidity overpowered. Not much else going on.

I decided to move on to 2020 Pascal Janvier Jasnières without finishing the last glass. This was quite a strong contrast given the high acidity of the gruner compared to the soft nature of the Chenin Blanc after

My first viognier, selected based on the numerous positive professional reviews as well as the quality of wines by this producer.

I actually can't relate to any of the professional commentary for this wine, however, I found the wine folly description for this grape to be pretty accurate for this one - e.g. less fruity and subtle bitterness.

Initial sip, there isn't much there. On the front and mid-palate it just sits there with very little flavor and then after a few seconds it slowly unfolds with moderate and lingering acidity. The fruit is restrained, some pleasant bitterness.

There isn't a lot of fruit to this wine. I would have thought maybe it was closed, but all the reviews mention to drink now and through the next 2-3 years. The palate is mostly focused on the acidity that comes with time and the slight bitterness. Glad to have tried it, but certainly not wowed.

Wine is best served slightly warm, just above cellar temperature. On second day at fridge temperature, it was pretty muted until it warmed up.

I wanted to try this after seeing the positive press. My first impression which is same on second night is of a cheap, generic grocery store red wine. There is plenty of fruit and a bit of leather. Nothing special, and I wouldn't purchase again.

I initially had two surprises upon opening this bottle. First was that the cork fell apart, and eventually landed in the bottle itself. I suppose cheese cloth would have been better for getting out the fine bits of cork, but a clean dishcloth worked well. The cork didn't show any signs of problems prior to trying to remove it - no leakage, mold, etc. It just crumbled.

Second surprise was that it was sweet - I thought I had grabbed a GG!

Once getting past those surprises, the wine is just lovely and is drinking so young! I'm terrible at describing the nose, so won't even try. The palate is rich, sweet, with yellow plum, guava, nectarine, apricot and apple. A juicy and very long finish, nicely balanced. The fruit is the primary focus for this wine, with soft minerals barely there.

I would imagine this wine would last for many more years, putting aside any cork issues. It does not seem like it has a decade of age.

Rather simplistic and lacking complexity compared to Porphyr. Day 1 initially big and fruity when first opening the bottle, but quickly evolving to a more medium body fruity style of wine. Day 2 was more light and simple.

Although I didn't take any notes on day 1, I think day 2 was improved. Notes are based on day 2. Very jammy nose. Reminds me of fresh raspberries. Bright acidity, balanced tannins. A touch of glycerin that I don't recall from day 1. I wish there was a touch of something else along with the fruit, but still very enjoyable. I tend to think this wine would improve with a little more age.

I love Riesling and this is a fantastic one. Evolving over the first night, but all of it good.

Nose is apples, mineral and a touch of floral.

Opens with soft fruit, floral and mineral notes, but then exploding on the back palate with lemon curd and apples. Expands to include blood orange and more green apple, and a bit of saline and floral on the closing.

More of the same on day 2. Mouthwatering and quite juicy, lingering for a long time. Drinking excellent now, but with plenty of life left.

This time around, day 1 was actually very nice. Lovely fruit with olives and herbs in the background. Nicely balanced and pleasant to drink

On day 2, it has lost the lovely complexity that was there on Day 1, but is still an enjoyable fruity red.

Really lovely bottle. I failed to take notes on day 1, but from memory there were many layers and it was really lovely over 2 glasses. Although it certainly went well with my food, I felt drinking on its own allowed all the layers to show. Lively acidity, saline, floral, and I seem to recall some nice herbal or tea type elements (wished I had made a note of those). My score is based on my first day impressions.

On day 2, it is still very nice although the initial tastes are more generic, I can sense some of the complexities from day 1 coming forward as I continue to sip, but a bit more gently.

Nose is heavy with bread and yeast. No notes taken on day 1, but recall it being lovely with lots of bread and toast notes.

Day 2 starts with bitter almond leading into soft citrus and acidity, followed by brioche, yeast, and toast. The soft acidity lingers for up to a minute - apple, raspberry. Very nice and multi-layered.

Day 1 - bright red sour cherries. I used 1 cup in my pasta sauce but the wine was actually best sipped before and after the meal, rather than during. Wine was lovely with moderate tannins.

Day 2 - red cherries have transitioned to deeper dark berries. I enjoyed both days, but thought Day 2 was better than 1 showing a more mature wine.
