Smells like wet paper and cork, but the taste is soft, cherry flavour. Short finish. 79 points. Normally I like wines from Douro Valley, but this one is not very spectacular! Must say that after 30 minutes of air the wine was much better! Give it 82 points

    10/7/14, 11:12 AM - Dude, if something smells like wet paper and cork, that is the classic signal that you have purchased a bottle tainted with TCA (2,4,6-trichloroanisole). Put the cork back in and exchange it for a new bottle. The "real" wine was probably much much better.

Lean, angular, unripe, vegetal. Given some of the prior reviews, I suspect either barrel by barrel filling or contamination.

    4/13/14, 5:03 PM - I have no ax to grind. I do, however, have a Diploma in Wine Studies from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, and the ability to discern the difference between winemaking style and microbial infection. The wines were faulty.

The fruit is a mix of white-heart cherries, cassis and strawberries, the oak adds an oriental basar and the acidity is very good with food.
