Excellent. Ripe Cabernet Franc has no green pepper notes at all, but is brambly and complex.

Fully mature and showing notes of oxidation (shellac and beautiful golden color), it is drinking like an old school white Rioja. Perfect for Thanksgiving turkey.

Surprisingly good, after tasting more recent Wagner family vintages with so much residual sugar. Well made and at it's height.

Okay, I am understanding the hype. Besides the unforgivable sin of opening this several years too yearly, this is awesome. The play of acid to palate weight is nearly perfect. The wine is full bodied and inky and delicious without becoming sodden or flabby. Really ripe, well constructed, excellent.

Not heavy or syrupy. Mid+ weight with a lively acidity. Fully ripe, with dark fruit and a stony minerality. I know this is a kitchen sink blend, but damn it's delicious.

Too young and a bit tannic at the moment. Clearly meant for more and better with time.

Ariana, I love your wine. But please, please, use some sulfites and a bit of oxygen so we don't get all those reduced rotten egg aromas! Otherwise, it's a lovely wine with great fruit and lovely texture!

Muscular, tannic and full of chocolate and cassis on opening. After a few hours (and it was tough to wait), it turned seamless. Wonderful texture. A touch more midpalate would rate an even higher score. Excellent.

Vibrant acidity, just entering the prime of its life, with pepper and garrigue. Dead ringer for Crozes.

Well extracted and ripe, with moderate spice. Not showing much in the way of Sonoma Coast terroir, it is very solid and a great price.

very dark and intense, with more palate density than one might expect from Pinot. In line with other Sta. Rita Hills, however. Ripe and spicy, with a long finish.

Some reduction evident that blew off after an hour. Less complex than Dead Arm, but well extracted and good secondary flavors.

Damn fine impression of a Gevrey-Chambertin. Sweet strawberry and cherries, black tea, and spices. Still bright and alive, but the wine was all about texture. Silk.

Still very fresh and alive, with great ripe fruits. From some of the other extended tirage wines, I was expecting more autolytic character, but not matter, it was yummy.

Peaking now and throwing a heck of a sediment. The fruit is starting to fade and the secondary flavors are good, but not as exciting as when the wine was young.

Disappointing. I love Alban and am a big fan of the Roussanne. This was dominated by the heat of the alcohol, which masked the lovely floral notes. Still very good, but I had hoped for more.

I suspect it's in a dumb phase right now. Awesomely concentrated and with ripe fruit, but showing hot and with aromatics that are not well integrated.

It's in a bit of an odd state where the fruit is just starting to fade a bit and the tertiary flavors are just beginning. If you have any, I'd let it rest another 2 years or so to gain complexity. That being said, it was just beautiful. The texture was lush, the sugar was a bit too obvious, but the finish was endless.

Used it for cooking a terrific pot roast. The taste had a touch too much residual sugar for my palate. I much prefer the power of Drops of Jupiter

Still tight as a drum. Slight bretty notw added to the complexity of an otherwise still monolithic syrah. It's got a lot to give, but needs 3 more years.

The only bottle out of 10 Scholiums that wasn't heavily infected with bacteria. Chewy, dense, great ripeness. It suffered a little in the complexity department and some dirty flavors after an hour of being opened, but this one is the best.

Highest possible score for a flawed wine. And they do it on purpose, with 9 of 10 bottles showing microbial instability. Black pepper and rotting lettuces. Abe Schoener, please use some sulphur. There is no nobility in making wine that sucks.

The max score for a wine with major flaws. I rate it instead of pressing the flawed button because 9 of 10 bottles were flawed, clearly on purpose. It was actually putrified. Abe Schoener, if you don't want to use sulfur, you can use ultraviolet light. At least wash your hands.

For more money than Montelena and Shafer Red Shoulder, I was expecting something more. As least it wasn't tainted by bacterial infection like the other whites. However, the only flavors I got were diacetyl related - buttered waffles - and that's considered a flaw by many. In the final analysis, it's similar to a Napa Chard from the mis 1980s.
