It's just so nice. The wine was elevated to another level with a homemade spicy pizza. The food pairing was sensational.

Splash decanted for about half an hour. Maybe because this was served directly after a rather pleasant Burgundy, it showed completely differently to the last couple of times I've had it. Basically it came across as blackberries and cream in a glass. Nothing crazy complex but wonderfully pleasant and easy to quaff. At this QPR it's pretty much unbeatable as a Cabernet Sauvignon in Australia (More than happy to be pulled up on this!)

Deep colour. Early alcohol note dissipating after 2 hours decant. Black currant but not much else. Tannins mild. Maybe flavour will develop with cellaring. One to leave for a few years yet. Not up to the price for an early taste.

5/26/18, 11:42 PM - Interesting. Happy to leave for a few years before I go back to it. Don’t think I would buy anymore unless I can find a cork seal. Might try and hunt some down. We are spoiled by many choices of wine to try in this bracket!

Lighter than a Shiraz as expected and first taste seemed a little watery. Bit unfair as it’s a blend as would be expected. Smells of blackcurrant. First sip from bottle was tannin forward but after an hour mellowed well to a nice smoothness. Actually a nice change from the run of Shiraz lately. Would buy a half dozen and stash for a nice easy drink.

Nice colour. Some vanilla. Not as sweet as a mollydooker or as fruity. Blackcurrant. Better after an hour in the decanter. A surprise for $13 a bottle. Will stash for another year or so before going back to it. Maybe still a little young but a good surprise for $13 a bottle.
