Strawberries galore. Quite ripe tonight and nice acidity to keep coming back for more. Very hard to put down. Love it.

Precocious young wine here. Great precision with great structure. Not giving too much on the nose at this point. This will not reach close to its full potential for a while maybe 5 years? You can really feel the quality here. Very good.

Nicely balanced indeed and really smooth too. Glides over the palate, nothing sharp here. Rustic and fruity and highly enjoyable. Lack a bit of precision but can't have everything.

A very intense wine. A real knockout to the palate this definitely needs time. Highly complex with a good balance minerals and fruit and giving so much. My palate was getting exhausted after 3/4 the way through but this is excellent and will be great is 3-4 years.

Not particularly enjoyable at this stage given the acidity, tannin and ripeness are all turbocharged without the integration. This made the wine taste a little imbalanced and perhaps awkward? Good potential I would think though.

Cherries, dark chocolate, dark berries with medium acidity. A delight for the senses almost falling on decadent. This is a brooding wine and I think at this age we can only seen a snippet of what is to come. I can't wait to read the next chapter.

Tight and acidic. This might need more than few years to come together and soften.

Already past its peak in my opinion but still fine and elegant. Lacking the primary fruit that have mostly faded to the background but full of secondary flavours of mushroom and cedar. Tannins are fully resolved here giving it a velvety texture. This has aged nicely. Refined.

Round, supple and creamy. This wine is true to the appellation with nice citrus fruit balanced out by honey notes. Finish does drops off a bit but still a very nice drinking wine. Very well made.

Very easy to enjoy and appreciate. I really like the dark fruits and chocolates that I so often get from Napa Valley cabs. This is not especially concentrated nor overdone in terms of ripeness while the tannins are soft providing a nice texture to the whole experience. Perhaps the lower acidity levels are preventing it from reaching new heights? Perfect for drinking now and the next 5 years although not sure it will improve much.

This bottle may have gone to sleep as the flavour profile seems to have become tighter and more muted than before. The tannins are overpowering the overall texture at this stage making for a rather drying experience on the palate with little in way of expression of fruit. I think this may need some time in cellar before revisiting.

Not lacking any weight despite the vintage this had both the intensity and body of a grand cru wine. Nice balance of acidity and persistence this wine had ripe red berries and earthiness. Tannins are still fairly robust but this still has some way to go in terms of aging potential. This needs an hour of air to really shine. Good producer of Clos Vougeot.

Fresh green apples and with a touch on the salinity palate. Not getting too much on the nose although it is slightly flinty. A nice roundness on the palate not too ripe. Pretty well balanced with good intensity.

Incredibly smooth on the palate and velvety tannins. Dark fruits and milk chocolates in a lifted fashion. Lively and really nice fruit but overall really balanced.

Great intensity of flavors while constantly changing on the palate. Chocolate is prominent here and so are black fruits. Velvety tannins coat the mouth with a very smooth finish. Not as expressive on the nose but I believe time will tell. Give this an hour of air. Delicious!

This surprised me from the first nose. Fruity and earthy tones coming together and dark fruits on the palate. Nice balance and lively. Very good.

This still has a massive tannic structure and fairly prominent oak that is going to need years to integrate perhaps 5 years at minimum. This is certainly very well made and fine with nicely stewed fruits and a complex nose typical of Barolo. Give it time.

This might be far from ready given the huge tannin structure present overpowering the rest of the wine. It is certainly fine but right now its austere profile and light red berried flavours are well in the background until tannins are resolved. perhaps another 5 years.

Highly intense and layered. There is no shortage of acidity and absence of oak may make it seem a little unbalanced although this would go really well with some food. Really good complexity of bright tropical fruits to start and a long finish of salinity and minerals keeps you wanting to go back for more. Perhaps this needs a few more years to settle down but its certainly has the stuffing.

Immediately pencil shavings on the nose, woody. On the palate, fruit is fading but still there with a mild acidity lingering. Cedar, herbs, green peppers, resolved tannins. The wine seems to have peaked but should continue to stay in form for years. Classic St Julien.

Rich but not too heavy. Ripe tropical fruits more fresh than candied but still pretty sweet. Works nicely with the oak.

This is pure silk in the glass. The textures are so smooth the wine seems like it glides with air. The nose is coaxing with sweet aromas of red berries. The oak influence is minimal and gives it an elegance befitting its chambolle character. Sweet fruits on the palate. A delight to drink.

Nose was reductive but showed some fruit after an hour of air. Pretty austere on the mid palate with a good tannic structure. This had a mineral quality to it, an almost iron like component with red fruits lingering in the background. The oak was nicely integrated if hardly noticeable. Definitely fine.

Beautiful nose of vanilla and red berries. Really good density for a burgundy would not say full bodied but certainly has a creamy quality to it. On the palate it reflects the nose more vanilla and red fruits with medium acidity. Very silky texture. Slightly oaky for me but overall a superb wine! Highly recommended.

This has a ripe nose of berries which is pretty bold and in fact is not subtle at all. The palate has a strong intensity and confirms the nose on the flavour profile of berried fruit. Very impressive!

Broad shouldered and really round perhaps lacking a bit of intensity. Needs time to integrate but already drinking well with candied lemon drops on the finish. Nose seemed a bit closed. This would do well with some extra time in bottle. Fine. Nice.

This needs a 90 minute decant after which the nose just explodes from the glass. Intoxicating and sweet almost heavy. Starts out with nice berries on the palate and finishing on more earthy flavours. Great drinking now with air this really transforms.

Still very primary, fresh and lifted and also a little tight. Firm tannins here are screaming for some fatty food to balance it out.
Definitely a delicious wine of serious quality but give it time. Decadent nose.

Pure class. Not as opulent as the 2015 (which was delicious) but this is more intense, balanced and complex. An hour of air really softened it up and wow really beautiful. Nice tannic backbone.

Nose of flowers and spices. Nice persistent acidity of red fruits which does dominate the mid palate and finish although I would this describe this as a little unbalanced. Finishes Long. There is quality here and indeed a very pretty wine.

Very nice and approachable wine. It is a tad on the sweet side for my liking but the bottle emptied fairly quickly nonetheless. Less serious than its big brother Ornellaia but the enjoyment factor is clearly there!

Very nice. Very well made wine from SQN. Great mouth feel and complexity. Sweet, full bodied but not cloying just perfect with some grilled meat. Now I see what all the hype is all about.

This reminds of the 2012 but with more power and complexity with a bit of the sweetness toned down (although it is already having huge fruit upfront). The nose is gorgeous, fills the air with a beautiful sweet roasted coffee and perfume aromas. Just intoxicating wow. The palate is incredibly layered, primary and with great density. Needs a lot of air to tone it down but just incredible.

Bought a case during the EP and was curious to try one on delivery. Beautiful young wine and surprisingly approachable despite being an LLC. Critics were not wrong in giving this 100 pts and there is significant upside once we see some integration of tannins for a softer more harmonious experience. 98 points for me today.

This is Grenache? Incredibly dense and dark fruit driven. Great precision and layered but how will this be in five years when it is more integrated? Really impressive wine.

Extremely ripe and powerful. The nose is displaying typical cab sav aromas. The palate has coffee, milk chocolate, dark fruits components with ripe tannins. The body has a thick density giving it lush mouth feel. Incredibly young but already approachable. Reminds of the La Mission 05 but missing a bit of the precision.

An incredibly elegant super Tuscan. Nose of pencil shavings and earthy notes. Palate is restrained with the fruit in the background amid nice secondary flavors. Smooth tannins and a subtle woody finish rounds out the end. Reminds me a bit of Pichon Baron.

Another beautiful showing from VCC. Not as elegant as the 2010 but still wonderful, very interesting savoury notes, nice lift of berried fruits on the mid palate, a bit of cocoa. Nose was very Pomerol but palate a bit Rhone like?

This wine is incredibly elegant. It has just the right balance of a core black fruits and soft tannin that melts together and forms something more than the some of its parts. This is a classic and will only improve with time.
