Tasted over three days. Opened it alongside the same vintage Château de France (Pessac-Leognan), then opened a Haut-Vigneau on the following day.

This wine offers an excellent example of why vintage matters, with all but a select few houses, and why I chase vintages. The 2010 Sénéjac punched several classes above its weight; this vintage, at best, meets expectations for Haut-Médoc in a good year. Juicy, blackberry fruit, concentrated, and tasty. The wine comes off a little fat, lacks energy and precision, and shows no more than light tannins. Perhaps most disappointing, its sense-of-place factor ranks no better than marginal. Solid, enjoyable, and made in a borderline crowd-pleasing style. Drink by 2020-2022.

P.S. This is the second post-2010 vintage I have tasted, with similar impressions and identical scores. Also, the wine sported an 88.7 average score at the time of this note (which I agree with), compared to an 87.1 average for the Chateau de France, which I find befuddling.

I am not trying to start a fight on very civil area of net but to say this wine at its peak in the last review is silly. I would imagine that this will last for 15 years and is way too you to drink unless you decant for some time. I guess you have to take some of these reviews and not put too much into them Excellent Brunello.

2/12/11, 12:32 AM - I guess it has something to do with the fact, that the reviewer was drinking it from a 375ml bottle. However, I also found the wine at a perfect drinking stage after decanting it for one hour. The tannins and oak were so well integrated, I thought it was right in the middle of the process of the secondary flavours coming in. Cheers!

Only true "Chateau" in Champagne. Nice flavor. Yeast aroma and dry. Not as bubbly as I like. For 35.00 dollar champagne it is very good.

6/19/10, 8:34 PM - Hi, Actually Richard Juhlin's book says this is 1 of 3 chateau :), however, not sure what the rest are. I'd say usd35 is quite expensive for it - in Europe we get this for eur19.95. Anyway, cheers!

Since I am a Mosel Riesling fan, then this particular 2005 Sauternes seemed way to sweet for me and lacking the usual sweetness/ acidity balance of the Rieslings. And why on earth do they produce Sauternes in the usual Bordeaux bottles? They're just too big for the sweetness. Somehow lacking the class. But anyway, as a conclusion to an evening, it's a great wine. Cheers!

No Formal Tasting notes, drank last night with some other wines.

Decanted in large bowl decanter for an hour, then poured back into the bottle, drank about 3-4hrs later.

The nose on this just beautiful, Elegant, Classy, Ripe Red Fruit, nothing dark about this, the 3 of us could of smelled this wine all
night, unfortunately? It went so well with NY Stripe loin .

I want more of these
Great acidity, tannins not as crazy as I was expecting so very enjoyable, more tart red fruit good stuff
