dark deep purple color decived me a little. expected more depth. first taste very tart and hard gritty tannis which mellowed after 30 min in decanter but still did not release the dark fruit i was expecting from the color. drank with salty rosemary lamb roast which actually turned out nice. acid smoothed out fatty game flavors of the lamb. definately a food wine. allow to decant for more than 1 hour

burnt orange color jumps out pouring into decanter. very interesting. first thought may have been corked. strong on the nose, alcohol. first taste after 5 min, very tart with tannis and mineral. after 10 min tannis mellow but still very gritty on the tongue and teeth. smokey pepper spice appear but i can still only smell alcohol, 14%. there is a bit of licorice coming through after 15 min. probably should be given a few more years to mellow even though it is a 2000.

Hazy, kind of like an unfiltered beer vs a pilsner. rusty red color. earthy and smokey on the nose like a bordeux. overripe berries with a tosted/roasted aftertaste. very deep and dark but mild tannis. 10 min after opening, can still smell, taste and feel the alochol but after 20 min in a decanter sharpness subsides. It is like taking a walk in a forset and eating the dark berries right off the bush then licking the moss off the tree with a nice sprinkle of dirt then chew bark for a few seconds.

Smells of flowers from your girlfriend's shampoo which are very nice after a long day's work. Initial taste of tart fruit with a lot of acid for a rose. Not a lot of change of the flavor on the palette which then ends softly. I drank this wine without food. i am guessing that it would be very nice with some light seafood. Shrimp cocktail perhaps?

initially hints of a junmai sake which opens up to nice flavors of peach and pear. It progresses to a lasting taste of mineral and butter under tones. Lovely light pink color. The perfect wine to share with a chick on a first visit to your home.
